Hello...I was waitressing at Perkins Pancake House back in the 80s and 2 of our waiters introduced me to the music of the B52s. They were art students at Akron U. Those were some really fun times. There were about a dozen of us all different ages working together teens to a few in their 50-60-70s and sometimes we'd all go out after work for a meal and some fun. We became like family and every time I hear "Love Shack" by the B52s it brings back memories of those days. I'm 78 now and one of those Art students has passed away and the other a professor of Art at a college. And my bus girl of 18 is turning 60. Can't believe how the time has flown by. Bye from Ohio🌹
Gracias por compartirnos tu experiencia vivida, yo tengo 29 años y desde los 16 años descubrí este grupo en una emisora de radio en mi país. Un abrazo y cuidate.
This version feels like having a slightly slower tempo than the original. It takes a little energy off, in my view. At this same concert, though, their version of Private Idaho was amazing.
I remember seeing them back in the Own Private Idaho College Days when they were rocking the college circuits with Rock Lobster as well as other hit that brought an obscure music style from England called New Wave To The USA in a breaking storm of music, style and fashion. Sad to say it was short lived but it was WOW period! This grubbing for money is a sell out to The B52s very legacy!!!
I've been a b52s fan since 7th grade 1980. There's not one song that stinks on there first two albums. Wild planet was my first. I'm going to play it now
Kate Pierson, the redhead, also did possibly the best duet in Rock and Roll history, with Iggy Pop, called "Candy," and is also heard on R.E.M's "Happy Shiny People!"
I played in the Athens Symphony for about seven years - Kate is standing right about in the spot that I used to plant my cello on the Classic Center stage.
My very favorite song about big Chryslers ever. - A great hit single with the outlandish performance of Fred played against the more serious, but campy, vocal performance of the girls.
THE Ultimate party band. I´ like to dedicate this song to my friend Teppana (nickname) about introducing this band to me. Teppana has gone to the other side already, but listening this song get´s me to right mood for cheering both, Teppana and life. Cheers......
Just popped their cd in yesterday... got me rockin' thru college days in the early 80s and here I am still loving Planet Claire, Rock Lobster, strobe light, LShack, pvt IDaho.....
Athens,ga we turned out some music then - was a great town to grown up in specially the late 60’s, 70’s into the early 80’s So many bands/singers got their starts here in our little college town - u had to try the downtown places to hear this music @
In 2024 this Rocks. 75 and still rockin.

You know the anticipation was building to Cindy Wilson's iconic line. When the audience responded? GOOSEBUMPS!!
Agreed! EPIC!
I've enjoyed those two lady singers for 45 years. Thank you so much ❤️
I swear they could be over 100 years old and still sound better then what they have today. Love this band
What the hell! They're old now yet they still sound as good as they did in the 80's now that's a talented band! :D
Yes, it's called talent, well done.
They’re not old yet…
My friend ...whats good never get old like this band. Cheers from Brazil!
Late 70s my friend. Planet Claire was their first hit that was being played in the disco. And yes... they sound the same. Awesome band
I'm from Australia, we love these dudes so much. xxx
Absolutely!!!! the sad thing is we dont get to see great bands in pubs anymore.
Even 34 years later, they still sound like the studio album.

1:27 This redhead looked so awesome when she sang in the video ‘Shiny Happy People’.
Kate Pierson
Timeless tune that brings me back to the 70s at UGA where the crowd was always rockin.' Wild days full of fun and great music.😊
For today's youth, this is what actual music sounds like.
Maybe for your age. There's a lot of new fresh music that can also hit the spot.
@@Nick.Ashton That doesn't depend on autotune/and or a computer?
@@TeamRocketHQR It's unfair to bring technology into it, music is music.
Been taking computer lessons grandpa?

Love it!! This group is fantastic!!! How great are they!!! Bring back the old groups, they are the best!!!! ❤❤❤❤......

Brother’s Of The 80’s. @🤩 Present B-52 Amazing
Legend has it, that after listening the B-52, the late John Lennon returned to his studio to continue composing Music.
Yeah I remember that too! They inspired him!
True, he said they were his favourite band at the time.

B-52. Quem viveu, não precisa explicar! Só isso!
FYI the "Love Shack" was a reference to Aleister Crowley's place. Bet you didn't know that one.
I did not. Are you referring to his house where he talked one guy into having sex with a cat?
@@cosmosaic8117 sounds about right, now compare photos of Mr.Crowley and Barbara Bush.
@@majorwedgie8166 Yeah I’m aware of that theory. Very interesting and agree the resemblance is definitely there..
Aleister Crowley was such a cheapskate. He had his own jukebox but made his guests pay to use it.
Very nice. Richard
