      Around 1985 here in Providence I received free tickets to the Pretenders, I knew then from MTV, never would think to see them live...they blew me away, they rocked

      The last "I saw a picture of you ..." to "wretched life of a lonely heart," looks like she's fighting back emotions, compared to how calm and srene she ws the previous 2:40 .... hmmmm, hurtful. The 80's were going to be Jimmy's decade, too.

    So glad I'm an 80's child! What a time to be young and alive. Things were so much better back then. No computers, no cell phones. People experiencing things together and being unified. It was great!

      I was 13 and watched this with my 21 yo brother and parents who were huge music fans. I declared I wanted to marry Tom Petty and be Chrissy H. My mom said you need to start practicing your piano more and my dad bought me a guitar a few days later. Those were the days!

    I saw The Pretenders in the 80s then again around 2012 and Chrissie’s voice was unchanged - perfect. They are an amazing live band.

    Goddamn! I’m crying. Oh how I love this song. Chrissie KILLED IT!!!!!!!! Where has music gone? I’m not saying there’s nothing good out there today, but there will never be the glory days of music from those 40 years. The 60’s-90’s! There will never be a concert like Live Aid EVER! Coachella has had its moments, but that all ended after 2011.

    A few years ago a old friend and co worker of mine passed away. She loved the Pretenders. Whenever I listen to them I think of her. I sing, smile and get teary. RIP Sylvia 🤘❤️

    Oh jeez, I remember Live Aid. I watched most of it that day, but i don't remember this performance. I do recall Phil Collins played in both London and Philly. Simon Lebon hit a really bad false note in "A View to a Kill." Queen kicked arse. Good times!

    I saw the pretenders live around 1985 at Elland Road, Leeds, England, they were the main support for U2 on the Joshua tree tour, fantastic day

    Loved them from when Brass in the pocket came out as a single. I got the chance to see them in concert in the 80's. It was the Get Close album tour. They were fantastic. Still a tight New Wave band. Great show!

    This song was part of the fabric of my teen years. Chrissie's voice is just magical. I would absolutely love to see her live. In her most recent videos, she still sounds amazing. I just learned this on guitar and I cant get enough of it.

    I wouldn't classify myself as much of a Pretenders fan as there's only a handful of their songs I could honestly say I love, but that moment (around 2:30 in this video) where Chrissie's voice just soars into "part" is one of THE great moments in rock music in my opinion. It knocks me out every time I hear it.

    Such a cool song, and what a groovy voice. The first time I heard this song, I knew it was great. Here it is, all these years later, and it's still a cool song, with her groovy voice. I won't rip on today's artists, but I will say that this song is immortal. Just a lovely song.

    1985, mi primer trabajo formal en México, compré este lp en el supermercado, aun lo tengo, solo lo puse una vez en el tornamesa, para grabarlo en cassette. Está como el primer día. Y mi gusto por Pretenders me acompaña a dondequiera que he estado. Cuando muera quiero que me entierren con música de rock de los 50`s hasta los 2000`s. !Viva la vida y el rock!

      I agree. Music wise, it seems like people were being creative enough with electronic instruments, but still needed talent for it. Now, everything is electronic, talent isn’t on the forefront. Shame.

    Heard this song a hundred times, way back then and liked it. Being quarantined, I appreciate her voice even more, in a way I hadn't before.
