You're right; I think the best bike for the street is a naked bike. I love my GSXR but I'm always a super impressed after riding my buddies FZ-09 or Ducati Monster.

I have never ridden either of those. I considered the Monster for a while... I just don't like the look very much. The FZ-09 is too popular for me to want haha.

Let's review this "torque" thing. I own a 2016 Roadster and I have watched lots of videos like yours where this monstrous torque is mentioned. Not feelin' it. Somebody in one of these vlog's implied that there is loads of thrust in any gear at any RPM and I have to heartily disagree. I now have a V&H upsweep, and the full-flow air filter, tuned by them and yeah, there's more power than stock, but hey, if you're at 2500 RPM in third gear and whack the throttle, it feels like a fully loaded dump truck heading up a steep hill until the revs climb. If you're in the right gear at the right RPM, it'll rip, but it lugs as easily as any bike I've ever ridden. I recognize it's limitations and still love it. Would appreciate some comments.

GT Steele 76 Ft lb of stock torque is absolutely no slouch. That doesn't mean it makes this torque in every part of the rpm range. Yes it will lug out at low rpm before it makes any torque, any vehicle, no matter the numbers, will.

Looks like someone is riding around my old hood off Plainview. :)

I'm doing my bike license(I mandatory in Quebec, Canada), I tried a Honda CB500, 390CC KTM(1 cyl, I don't remember the model), Suzuki savage 650cc, Honda Shadow ?cc, and the torque on 2 cyl bikes is insane, it has so much ''humpf'' to it on low RPM. I like RPM(I drive a Honda K20 car, High rev, no torque), but I like the powerband better on torque bike. BTW, planning to buy a roadster next month, seems like a good mix of torque, sporty caferacer bike

It is a very nice bike. You will not be disappointed.
I also have a KTM RC390. I know what you mean. It is quick, but it doesn't have that punch Torque gives you.

I agree 100% torque is where it's at. I noticed you didn't mention the Fz line, is that because everyone and their mother has gotten one?

Yes hahaha. I'd be open to the XSR900 though.

That's a pretty sweet bike too. A lot of people ignore it because of the old styling.

Super Duke is next on the 'To Buy' list though. Not including pit bikes or dirt bikes haha

Have you ever rode a 600cc super sport? They pull ridiculously hard in every gear, they're like alien space ships compared to your Roadster dude. Dyno charts don't tell the whole story. Even my GSX650F will lift off of the suspension and almost wheelie a bit when twisting the throttle. The 300's are all beginner bikes, including your KTM so it's weird that you're judging sport bikes in general based on beginner bikes. And yes, you can take 300's to the track but that doesn't mean they're anywhere close to 600's in terms of power. Although the comfort thing is valid for many people.

TheRavinoth I have ridden many 600cc sport bikes. Did you not listen to what I said? They have great horsepower, but only okay torque. They get their power high in the rpm range and, therefore, are not great for the street... not meant for the street either.

TheRavinoth oh your 600 is sooooo good!! Until someone rolls up with a Ducati or liter bike and puts you in your place. And I find it funny when I see 300cc bikes embarrassing 600s on a track.

If you like torque get a busa. Mad torque and is still comfortable.

Yeah, but I like bikes that look good too.

Most people will disagree, but my dad has an 01 Hayabusa and I think it has a nice charm. Can’t say others share my taste though.

Are you getting a super duke? It would be cool to see vlogs on that.

I do plan on getting a super duke! I will be uploading as soon as I can. I am adjusting to a very cool job and in the process of buying a house, but I have not forgotten about RUclips.

I'm already in need of more torque, I have Ninja 650 and it just lacks the get up and go you mentioned. It's not bad, and better than smaller cc bikes obviously, but I still feel like I need to be able to gather speed faster. Good video dude.

      Thanks!
You should get a Z900 next. Big HP boost and not a slouch with torque either. Plus, it looks mean!
I want a Super Duke as my next bike, but the price and look of the Z900 may win me over.

    • @maverick_rdez2532
      @maverick_rdez2532 7 лет назад

I hadn't even seen the Z900 until you just said that. It looks pretty slick for sure, but I'm kinda leaning towards something with most weight possible. I don't think I'm ready to convert to a cruiser, but the weight of them appeal to me a lot. Z900 is definitely something to consider though, great price for the bike you get.
