Wow, so easy. I bought a Mackie Mixer and a pair of JBL monitor speakers. I did a lot of connection but to no avail. Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much. I own and ko3 mixer. Will need to figure out where are the ports go!!!
I go optical out of the tv , into a eotek DAC , then RCA from the DAC to my x1222 mixer , many new TV's do not have RCA ,
I'm in the same boat here and your solution is what I think I'll need to do. Did you have any delay in audio with the picture when viewing?
Thank you! And thanks for using plain English instead of confusing tech-speak
This was so well explained. Thank you Deb
This video gave me a good understanding of the inputs. Thanks
I’ve failed to understand why someone would do this connection between a pro audio gear with a consumer tv or other consumer devices that don’t have matching impedance signals! If you’re gonna record music the proper way is connect the mixing board to an audio interface and how did you get guard band downloaded to the tv? Mixing pro gear with consumer products is never good idea do to the unmatched impedance signals.
You would be surprised at how many people asked for this. AND this is my most watched video? Apparently something many want to do.
Yeah same. I wanna know how its done. I wanna connect my tv to ky mixer so i can have a good audio when watching youtube
Hi Deb, I used HDMI out to karaoke amplifier to get video and audio. Now I have an analog audio mixer. What adapter do I need to transfer the audio/video to the mixer? Please help! Thank you!
Thank you so much for the instructions.
Thanks. Can I also patch HDMI from TV to mixer for audio?
Not that I’m aware of.
@@DebErney I just found something called an "audio extractor converter" that converts hdmi audio to 2-channel analog. But it is an extra gadget that requires power and connections. Your time honored method is so much cleaner, easier and cheaper.
Simple but informative. kudos
Only works if your TV has these particular outputs.
Hi Deb, Super impressed with your knowledge!! I am struggling to set up a karaoke at home. I have a Yamaha MG06X mixer, LG smart TV and a Soundbar (with HDMI, Optical and 3.5mm input ports). I connected my LG Smart TV to Yamaha mixer successfully. However, I am not sure which cable to use to connect the mixer to my powered soundbar. COuld you please help? Thank you.
Your going to need cable adapter. Here are a few to get you from 3.5 to mixer inputs. amzn.to/3gfgxwx amzn.to/2WYi969 amzn.to/2XoL9mx
@@DebErney , Thank you so much for your swift reply. Really appreciate your help. I had looked at one of these but was not sure my soundbar (with 3.5mm port) would work. Thanks for clarifying :). I am going to order one of these and try connecting my speaker. Hopefully it will solve my problem.
Hi Deb, Hope you are well. I ordered one of the cables as recommended by you and connected my mixer (1/4 inch) to my soundbar (3.5mm input). The output from the speaker is very low even at the maximum volume. Not sure what the problem is. Could you please help? Thank you very much in advance.
Are you using the head phone connection out? Check the volume for the headphone output. you bought a TS cable instead of TRS the sound will only have one channel. TRS have 2 black rings around tip (stereo, balanced) while the TR (mono, unbalanced) will only have one.
@@videomry hi, i'm also struggling withe same issue. I have an lg sh2 sound bar and a xenyx 802 mixer that i'm looking to set-up to my tv so i could make it to work as a karaoke. How did this work for you? Did you figured out the set-up needed? Thanks for the help.
Hi i have a mixer but idk where to plug the cable in
Hi, my problem is that my new 4k TV only has 4 x HDMI and only one is ARC, and I am using it for the theater system. I believe the other 3 are only for input video, right? Or will they work as output audio? I don't think so. The last option is the optical cord.
You’d have to contact manufacturer
how do I get the microphone sound from mixer to be heard in my TV?
Output from mixer to input of tv. You may need adapter. I would use the mixer phones output 1/4” to tv input which may be rca?
Ok, great video! Please forgive my ignorance. Somewhere I became lost. I am still trying to understand how you got garageband on your TV?
The sound from your tv is playing on your mixer. I have a RUclips video of a garageband tutorial (that I did) playing through a ROKU on the tv.
Any insight on setting the gain on the mixer when connecting a device that has an internal amp? For example, the headphones output on consumer devices are driven by a modestly powered amp.
Device Volume ----> Channel Gain ----> Channel Volume
I set it up with no boost in the gain and the channel fader at zero (i.e. unity). Volume is controlled by the device (via a remote control), not the mixer (which is why I prefer to use the variable output of the headphones jack). Is that optimal for reducing noise?
Turn volume on device off then slowly add volume.
How would i connect my PA Speakers to my TV? without a mixer
You don't. I've been trying for about 3 days and it produces garbled vocals and good sound, which is a result of a lack of DAC/Soundcard/Mixer. In short, you something to process the sound between TV & Monitor.
So I have my TV digital cabal going into my DAC box and my RCA to TS going into ch 1an2 of my mixer and sounds great...
What I dont understand Is when I use a RCA to TRS in one ch1 it sounds terrible... Im confused on what the RCA to TRS is used for... I wanted to use the RCA to TRS because im told the TRS is better connection and I'm trying to free up a ch...
I have the BERHINGER XENYX 1202 8CH MIXER...
I also tried to Put the RCA to TS into ch5/6 to keep into one like you said in your video but I know my mixer is different,,, but I get no sound...
Any thoughts?
I'm going to purchase the BERHINGER XENYX X1222USB
While TRS supplies 2 channels it doesn’t always work with a MONO inputs. When you plug in your TRS don’t plug it in all the way. Listen for the first click and see if you have sound. My guess is your plugging stereo output into a mono input. Try a cable like this using two channels, one for each channel. amzn.to/3xrwj2r
@@DebErney I'm using the RCA to TS into ch1 and 2... It sounds great! So my question is my chanel says BAL OR UNBAL... dosnt make sense to me... So what is the use of a RCA to TRS then?
Thank you
@@bullskull1166 you have to plug the TRS-stereo=2 channels into an input of the same. Most mixers have the XLR (balanced) or the TR(inbalanced) inputs.
So, with 3.5 audio out from tv to rca tape input on rockville rpm85 mixer not noticing in stereo IE whole lotta love by zep. Also volume is real low. Would 3.5 to 1/4in jack to channel on mixer be better and does jack need to be stereo jack? Thanks in advance
Definitely use stereo output for stereo input. You can experiment with different jacks and see which you prefer.
I do not have any RCS inputs/outputs on this tv so i am using the mini component from the headphone jack of the tv to the line input of my mixer, but there is a faint beeping in the left monitor. What id causing that and how can I get rid of it?
could be your cables, connections, or interference from another device.
❤ thank you for good VDO
Thank you too
You know your sounds👍👍👍
Hi. How do o get the sound to a mixer. From a tv that only had hdmi what do I need to convert to either rca, jack or xlr.
No idea how to convert HDMI to audio.
Buy digital to analog. Hook up your optical from the TV to digital to analog. You do need RCA for it also
How do I incorporate a sub, TV and mixer all in one??
Sounds like u need a sound bar with sub.
Can I use a powered mixer for this, with passive speakers?
any mixer will work. just be mindful of volumes
Thanks for the speedy reply!
What if i want to hook it upto the speakers from the tv
No idea,
Great and very useful video.👍
I have a question. I have 2 pairs of active speakers and i would love to use them as my home theater set up. Can I use a mixer to connect the 4 speakers so they play at the same time? One of the speakers have xlr balance cables in. And if this is possible can you recommend a board that can do the trick and sound great but won't break the bank?
you might want to take a look at a mixer (passive) with 4 outputs. B4 investing I would connect your existing equipment to make sure the sound is what your wanting. In my experience P. A. speakers designed for musicians doesn't always mean it will sound good for stereo equipment.
@@DebErney thx that is a great advice actually. The speakers that I have are great sounding hi fi active speakers that I would love to combine all a once. Any mixer in your expertise come to mind sir?
@@teddybonkers337 amzn.to/3dPoKIv amzn.to/3tX6Nxd
@@DebErney so helpful sir! I really appreciate it 👍
Take care and be safe.
Modern tvs only have hdmi or optical which mixer don’t have
Some of the high end mixers do have an optical
@@DebErney converter is probably a lot cheaper option. They cost around 100 euros
is there any mixer with optical input?
I just bought a Zoom U-44 that has an optical in and out. amzn.to/3STrlDT
Excuseme, you know if I can pair a bluetooth smart tv with a bluetooth mixer pyle pro?
No idea. Go online and down load the manuals for the products.
excuse me, if you connect a microphone to your mixer, your voice will be heard in the TV speakers?
Yes, if your tv speakers are your output.
how to hook for surround?pls.
I’m not sure.
Nice! Your so sound lady savvy!
I have the tv connected to my surround sound system. If I connect mixer to the TV, can I still use the surround sound. Especially for Karaoke
I think the sound has to come directly from the mixer. So, hook up tv to mixer then to speakers. AND NO YOU WILL NOT HAVE SURROUND SOUND. Only stereo output from mixers unless you have a
SPDIF output from mixer? That may give you surround sound?
Thank you 👌👍
Smart Lady. Thankyou.
Very useful, Thanks but the tv content should’ve been some music instead of vocal as it was confusing whether you were talking or the lady in the tv, infact I went mad...
I sure hope the madness isn’t permanent?
Great more
Hi there, can u provide your email address to me as I have some pictures of my equipment to show u. My cables connections to my audio-video receiver, tv and mic mixer seems to have problem. I can hear the sound from my mic from the speakers but not audio from the tv. Similarly, I can hear audio from the tv but not from the mic. Thanks a lot.
