Imagine complaining about an 11 minutes video that someone took their time to explain, put together, and uploaded for FREE to save you frustration from millions of possible combinations and trials and errors between all these machines and wiring! People are so gd ungrateful and dont deserve this man and his tutorial. My mom has been wanting a setup and Idek what Idk so thank you so much for giving me an idea of what I need to start with ❤❤
Sometimes you just have to ignore certain people. We all have to learn that. There are so many people who are just lying in wait for the opportunity to be offended, feign compassion, or throw 2nd grade insults at the ones who actually matter in this world. (I know, a little harsh, but I feel your frustration!🙂)
Good job! Congrats to you and your girl. I’ve been a home tech guy for 40+ years, and even a radio guy for several years, but I’m not so much a karaoke guy. My daughter will be getting married soon, and your video has given me some knowledge and a lot of inspiration to attack the task of being her requested…DJ! 😳😱
This is great. The only downside I see in this setup is reducing the 7.1 channel output your TV sends out via optical to a 2 channel output the mixer sends out. If you are not using the karaoke and just watching a good movie, you end up with a flat sound on your surround system. Of course you can undo the mixer and send it right through the surround, but that seems like a hassle. Is there an easier solution for this?
I use PROZOR Audio Converter, that’s really the key. Any brand of converter will work. You can also set up without receiver, if you don’t have one. You can also still use HDMI but your receiver or TV needs to have HDMI Arc, regular HDMI won’t work. Most of my speakers connects are XLR for mic s and speakers, that works also. Great video!
This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm still a little confused so I will have to watch this vid a couple times to completely get it. But it was explained extremely well, thank you.
A better way to simplify the setup is to use a karaoke box like Acnos Mi30u pro. It has bluetooth, optical in, wireless microphones sold together with the set, and we just need to plug it to our home system via optical out line 1/2. Very cheap and convenient solution that under 100 bucks.
Nice setup.. also I can give you some other tips….add a mic preamp… there are some cheap ones to at sweetwater… I do karaoke at home and I have a plug in on my computer that has a built in mic preamp. And my voice sounds like it’s on steroids.. basically you should add a cheap outboard rack mount mic preamp and a outboard rack mount compresssior unless the mixer already has built in compresssion and reverb I’m sure. But the mic preamp… really sounds amazing.. if you don’t no what a preamp is… it’s basically a control the controls bass mids and treble but just imagine instead of having a knob that goes from 1-10 for each aimagine it goes from 1-100 and at the same time it boost the signal a little bit… so seriously look into adding a mic preamp…
Did the setup - hooked up to my soundbar /surround sound system., using the aux port on the sound bar. Works great! Only modifications are the mixer input requires 1/4 plugs, so from optical converter need dual RCA to dual 1/4. And from mixer to soundbar need dual 1/4 to 3.5mm. Couldn’t find this info anywhere else! Thanks for the video- party basement time for parents and kids alike!!
Thanks for this video, problem solved with my Bose cinemate and karaoke. I got my karaoke sounds with tv sounds together. I bought mixer and works perfectly..🎉👏
even i have a Bose Home theatre, installed the Optical Converter as per the Vidoe, also the Sound MIxer, however there ia sound delay when i sing in the mic, can yo help
I have a firestick (for youtube) connect via Bluetooth to a karaoke mixer with 2 wireless mic, the mixer connected via aux out to aux in to jbl partybox 110 speaker. The power for the firestick is through the usb connector available in the back of every lcd tv. The jbl partybox has a usb port to power the mixer. These will eliminate 2 extra plugs in the wall. Professional set up. Enjoy.
Thank you so much for this great how to video… I bought a portable PA system I think the conversion of dig to ana will work… with my existing wireless microphones to the external PA speakers/mixer and use the TV for the video… I am doing online karaoke that is streamed thru my Apple TV….I am so appreciative…..
1 - Does this mean you are downgrading a possible 5.1 audio output to a 2 channel audio output? 2 - Is there a scenario where your karaoke music would be 5.1? probably not right? 3 - How does a 5.1 or 7.1 home theatre deal with a 2 channel audio input anyway? Does the bass get split out to the subwoofer and then left and right channels get directed to all the left and right speaker respectively? I think this may relate to other post regarding the potential damage your speakers. 4 - Ok lets gets crazy... is there a setup where you could you get the mics to output through the front speakers and the music out of the rear speakers for example? I'm guessing that would require a mixer with 5.1 encoder which is perhaps prohibitively expensive or doesn't exist?
There is no downgrading of the audio. The input from the TV remains in multi format, the mic audio is mixed at the mixer and goes to the tv. So all speakers are active and directionality is maintained. So you can leave it in this config and watch a movie. I have been using this for about a year havent had any issues.
I’m not sure as well on how you are getting sound via 5.1. When I connect everything as you have it, it only plays from front L, front R and sub. What ports specifically are you plugging the rca cables into on the receiver? You also mentioned the mic audio is going to the tv, I thought the mic audio goes to mixer, mixer goes to receiver?
Use this set up ONLY when you're doing Karaoke. if you use this same setup for your HD content, it will NOT be able to output 5.1/7.1 audio signals (that is only possible via direct HDMI/optical/Digital Coax from TV to Home Theatre Receiver). You can get all speakers to output the sound, but it will not be actual surround, just stereo- sucks if you have a quality setup.
Great! You just could have shown your home theater connection, but I understand that perhaps It was hard to turn it. Also the main outs on my mixer are not rca, my only doubt left. But I really appreciate your video! Helped me a lot! Thanks!!!
Just setup a new karaoke machine and encounte sound lag issue for microphone! Hopefully the optical wire and the converter will fix the audio issue! Appreciate you explain it step by step!
I've just bought a karaoke and want it connected to surround sound system but also have the mic lag problem. Have you sorted it now and if so what worked for you? Thanks.
Great video thank you. One question why you choose this setup with separate wireless mic + mixer and not one together like say rybozen or fifine mic? Can youu connect a wired mic and if so do you conect to the mixing board directly?
Hello though you have explained very nicely. I need confirmation. I have a Bose home theatre system and a TV directly connected with optical Output from TV and optical Input in Bose. To make a karaoke system 1. Optical converter which you have shown 2. Music Mixer 3. Mic 4. Cable from Music Mixer to Bose i.e. Headphone jack coming out of Music Mixer and Optical going in the Bose or RCA going in TV 3
Thanks for great instruction. Good job exactly what I am looking for. BTW, can you tell us 1) What is the name of mixer and model number? 2) What is digital analog converter model number? Thanks Davis
You are the 3rd video I watched, and YES you have the same audio receiver I have..great.. so I was stumped after getting the mixer installed and couldnt figure out why the HDMI audio was not mixing..duh. just ordered an optical cable and mixer and hopefully that is all I need..thanks
Thank you so much for your information. I have been looking for something like this for my mom but I am not sure how I will make this work with my mom’s old receiver. I am already using the optical from her new tv to the receiver so they can play the sound from it in their speaker system so this may complicate things for me. I would appreciate any recommendations.
So my setup I have RUclips playing through my tv sound system and my vocals through the mixer and pa speakers. Which works for me. Is there any benefit to have the music and vocals coming through the same speakers?
You are so awesome thank you! I have one question for you… I have a dumb TV, but it is connected via hdmi to a smart cable box (with RUclips app) that is connected via hdmi to a Vizio m5.1 surround sound. I have not bought the mics and mixer yet because I am stuck trying to understand how to work the cable box into the equation. The cable box only has coax, hdmi and power ports, no optical. I understand how I would connect the optical out from the tv to the mixer but I would be bypassing the cable box (which has RUclips app). So “I can’t get there from here”… Do I need to go buy a smart tv for this to work? Is that the only solution? I hope you can help me configure my new surround sound to work with a new karaoke mixer rather than me buying something that may never work. Thank you so much!
Pretty cool, but how do you use just the TV with the speakers? The mixer would have to be plugged in. And you would have to use separate remote controls, one for the TV and one for the receiver? Currently I have my TV connected to my receiver through HDMI ARC and I control both the TV and receiver with one remote.
Hi great video. I’m trying to set up the same, doing from speakers from tv and mixer that connects to my mic. I can connect tv to amp using optical cable, that has given me sound through speakers from tv. Can I now connect tv to mixer using red and white cables from mixer to tv ( plugging into head phone jack on tv and then into mixer (in) . And then using second red and white cables from mixer to amp (out) Let’s say connect to video 1,2 or 3. Then select that channel on the amp. Would it all work?
I have almost the same wireless mic box but didn't require a separate mixer as the wireless box have the mixer built-in. optical out from tv to the optical to rca box. rca out from the converter goes to the wireless mic box. wireless mic box out goes to the receiver.
This is great! I have been looking for this solution. I have all my components going INTO my TV because it's easier and higher quality to get all that audio out to my receiver. Is there a way to have a switch to bypass the microphone/mixer to go straight from TV to receiver? There's got to be a gadget that allows that digital type sound from the TV to the A/V receiver... you know, when you're not singing...
what about amplification of sound .. by doing this will not sound output on speakers go down ? or in this example your receiver has inbuild amplifier so it took care of amplification of sound ?
Hi Team! Thanks for all the info. I bought the same microphone system. Trying to hook it up like yours. I already have an optical from the tv to the receiver since I use it for watching movies through the surround sound. If I get the additional adapter and mixer, will I need to be plugging / unplugging the optical every time I do karaoke?
Hi Do me a favor pls I woder how thé singer voice improuve if i connect directly the output of the mixer to the pre center input of the receiver ?( I know that is mono only) Could you kindly try it for me? Thanks alot
This is a very detail professional video presentation for setting up a karaoke microphone together with a home theater system using a digital to analog converter.
Thanks so much! My mom has a karaoke machine and she has been sad because we haven’t been able to use it :( instead of optical to rca could this work with hdmi to rca?
Thanks for the video. Just wanna let you know that your amazon links don't go to the product page - it just goes to Amazon home page. Don't wanna miss out on the affiliate revenue
I have an old Karaoke DVD player with a mixer function built into it with 2 mic connections in front, optical and S-video holes and a bunch of RCA jacks behind it, can I just use it as a mixer? I don't have a sound bar but have an old stereo system that is basically an FM stereo amplifier that's hooked up to the speakers. How do I connect them? Do I connect the optical cable from TV to the Karaoke DVD player's optical then run RCAs to the stereo system?
Question: Instead of plugging into a receiver / Speakers do you think I can get and RCA to 3.5mm converted and plug mixer OUT into the AUX input on my soundbar?
Hi i watch your video tutorial multiple times can you show me where did you pluc your rca output from mixer to your av receiver your reply ishighly appreciated. Thanks for your video i know this video is old but i hope you can reply to my inquiry im not into sounds gadget or sound tech need advice on which part of av receiver you put it the rca output from the mixer thanks
Hey mate thanks so much for the explanation. Couldn't find anything on this anywhere else. I had one question though, My TV only has hdmi (eArc) and optical out, and my sound bar only has HDMI out / in and optical in. So no RCA... what else do I need to get it to work? Cheers
You would need to buy a mixer for the setup that has digital (optical aka toslink) out to make this configuration work. They def. exist though may not be as cheap as a pure analog mixer (as in the video). Everything else would be the same as described here (or close to it) you just need that one additional output that's compatible with your soundbar. Alternatively you could use an analog mixer but would need a simple analog to digital converter device to take analog from mixer and turn it to digital (via optical) to feed to soundbar.
Thanks for the video, do you know if this works if I try to use a device connected to the receiver, for example running the RUclips app from the Xbox? instead of running RUclips from the Samsung tv?
Great video. Quick question: Are you playing your tv audio through your surround sound system when you’re not using the mixer/mics? Do you have to disconnect the cables &/or change the tv output?
I hope by now you figured out to use a Chromecast instead of the tv’s RUclips because it’s a whole lot easier to type on a phone or tablet then cast to the Chromecast than using the tv remote buttons. Also only with a Chromecast are you able to queue up the next song.
This is great, closes i have seen to what i need. One question, what if my sound system I want the sound out of is a soundbar that does not have rca connections? It only has hdmi, optical digital audio. Please help
I have a question. The 6.5 jack from the mic mixer that connect into the mixer input does that only work for one of the mics or that 6.5 jack alone is for both wireless mics
Everything seems to make sense. The only part where I’m a bit confused is the RCA you have coming from the optical to the mixer. The Amazon link looks like those are 3.5mm sockets. So are you using an RCA to 3.5mm TRS socket for L and R, and same for the main out to the receiver?
I did everything that you mentioned in this video. I still can't get both the sound of the mic and the tv sound (youtube) at the same time using my denon receiver. What settings do my tv and receiver need to be at?
Great video, thanks for the setup. You really do know what you're talking about. I thought about doing this "after" I purchased a $250 karaoke speaker. My A/V system kicks ass and has way better sound, obviously, than the karaoke speaker so I was wondering how to connect a mic to that system since there are no inputs for it. After looking at mixers and preamps and additional cables (way too many already) I thought I may try something else. So I connected my microphones (wireless) to my new karaoke speaker and use it for a stand-alone PA speaker. No music going to it, just the mics. I crank the karaoke tunes from RUclips through my A/V system and have complete control of mic volume and echo from the Karaoke speaker. It actually sounds way better than I thought.
Thanks for the video. My question is, I use bose soundbar so I don’t have a receiver. Does all these setup work without a receiver? Can I connect the TS cable from sound mixer to my projector system directly.
Hi, I would like to ask about the output from the mixer to AVR and then towards the speaker. Is the end output at the speaker side 5.1 surround sound (as per your setup seen this video) by using RUclips from your Smart TV? Or only your Stereo Left and Right Speakers and subwoofer only working (Hence 2.1 only)? I had a similar setup like yours however my AVR is a Samsung DVD player that supports 5.1. I've tried hooking TV towards the AVR using the RCA directly and seems like the result is also 2.1 only hence I'm unsure it should be like this or I should upgrade to a better AVR. So far the DVD player only outputs 5.1 when it plays DVD hence I'm confused whether its working as intended or its just the AVR problem. Thanks in advance! Nice tutorial too.
Are you using the optical because your TV doesn't have a 3.5 headphones audio out or will it not work that way. I assume it will if I then switch the audio on the TV settings to audio out? I'm trying to avoid more cables and an additional adapter.
Are you able to use a male 6.35mm to Red/White Dual Make RCA CABLE and directly plug the that from your Tonor wireless mic receiver into an AV receiver? Is the audio mixer and converter you used necessary?
Hi ,I have a sony av receiver and a sony oled tv I just cannot seem to get any signal going into my mixer from tv using the digital analogue converter...any ideas on settings I should be using to get the signal active ,does not appear to be a straight solution to change sound to optical out cheers
Do I need the mixer I’m trying to make a karaoke setup and I’m getting the same mic and similar speakers but do I need the mixer or is there a way to connect the mic to the speakers directly
I wonder if this would work with a sonos arc set up? I keep reading that using the sonos system for karaoke could damage it so I'm on the fence about trying it out..T-T
Thanks, really helpful video. One question though. Currently I am using my TV for viewing ATMOS 5.1 movies. For that I have to connect my TV to the receiver through e Arc HDMI port. Now if I want to do karaoke, I have to connect my TV with the Optical port to the mixer. So does that mean that each time I watch movies I have to select on my TV the output as HDMI and each time I do Karaoke I have to choose optical output right ? Is there a way to switch between the two types of output automatically?

And then using second red and white cables from mixer to amp (out)
Let’s say connect to video 1,2 or 3. Then select that channel on the amp. Would it all work?
Thnx a million for this video !! How many channels mixer is this?
5 channel
Thanks for this video. I have a Denon receiver and a white screen and not a TV. How can I connect?
Thank you so much for the info! I've been looking for this solution for a very long time, but I've not found one that told me how to to do it.

Optical splitter can send your signal to the mixer and receiver independently; the receiver will be your switch for tv viewing and karaoke.
With this exact set up, do you even need the two XLR cables for the two mics? I don't see them plugged in.
what about amplification of sound .. by doing this will not sound output on speakers go down ? or in this example your receiver has inbuild amplifier so it took care of amplification of sound ?
Yes the receiver acts as an amp
Does your Tv have another audio out? Maybe a 3,5 mm you could conert to RCA
Hi
Do me a favor pls
I woder how thé singer voice improuve if i connect directly the output of the mixer to the pre center input of the receiver ?( I know that is mono only)
Could you kindly try it for me?
Thanks alot
This is a very detail professional video presentation for setting up a karaoke microphone together with a home theater system using a digital to analog converter.
Thanks for the video. Just a quick question. Is it necessary to have an AV receiver? Most modern home theater systems don't require AV receiver.
Great. But why not use jack line out from TV?
Thanks so much! My mom has a karaoke machine and she has been sad because we haven’t been able to use it :( instead of optical to rca could this work with hdmi to rca?
It may not work, I think the HDMI connection is bi directional and RCA is not.

Thanks for the video. Just wanna let you know that your amazon links don't go to the product page - it just goes to Amazon home page. Don't wanna miss out on the affiliate revenue
Thanks for that!
Hi, Thanks for your explanation. Could u pls advise name & model of the mixer. Thanks.

How good does the vocals come out vs an actual Karaoke ststem though?
if the mixers, mikes, and sound system with cable all you need, or some kind of receiver as well? thank u
You are wonderful man, thanks for your so helpful informations
Question: Instead of plugging into a receiver / Speakers do you think I can get and RCA to 3.5mm converted and plug mixer OUT into the AUX input on my soundbar?

Been looking for this
Great vedeo. Very clear instructions. Thank you.
I got all the stuff u mentioned in your video but my problem is connecting it to the av receiver/ home theatre: don’t know where to connect it.
You would have to be more specific with your question. The plugs are in the back of the receiver.

I have the same problem. I have same tv , but my home theater is a Samsung that has optical , hdmi, eArc only. Let me know if you figured out yours .

That’s correct. And no, you just need to switch the output for audio, from optical to hdmi
I have a similar receiver, STR-DH590. Do I connect the Main output (RCA) of the mixer to the HDMI on the receiver? Is that another converter?
The receiver should have RCA as an input, at least mine does.
Please help

Did you connect your speaker to receiver?
I have a question. The 6.5 jack from the mic mixer that connect into the mixer input does that only work for one of the mics or that 6.5 jack alone is for both wireless mics
It works for both

Everything seems to make sense. The only part where I’m a bit confused is the RCA you have coming from the optical to the mixer. The Amazon link looks like those are 3.5mm sockets. So are you using an RCA to 3.5mm TRS socket for L and R, and same for the main out to the receiver?
The optical cable from TV to Optical/RCA adapter, then RCA cable out to mixer - RCA from mixer to receiver
I did everything that you mentioned in this video. I still can't get both the sound of the mic and the tv sound (youtube) at the same time using my denon receiver. What settings do my tv and receiver need to be at?
Link on your wireless microphone pls?
Can I connect the RCA convert it into a optical output directly to a speaker instead of a receiver. My speaker already has a optical. Auio
Thank you for explaining this!
Hi i dont have a smart tv im using firestick. Hiw can i connect the surround sound instead.
Can you do all this if you only have sound bar?

Hello. Will this set up work with the samsung soundbar?
Are you using the optical because your TV doesn't have a 3.5 headphones audio out or will it not work that way. I assume it will if I then switch the audio on the TV settings to audio out? I'm trying to avoid more cables and an additional adapter.
my tv has built in sound bar so how I will connect it ?i dont need any extra out put device like speakers or sound bar
Did you have to disconnect your hdmi cable from tv to receiver?
Is optical to rca adapter still working? I read the comments on amz and people complained the left size dead soon after.
What brand and serial number is that mixer ?

Dose this apply to a home theater/receiver system with a projector instead of a tv?
Is there a workaround to do this with a soundbar with no rca?
Yes, you would need to convert the RCA out from the mixer back to HDMI

Are you able to use a male 6.35mm to Red/White Dual Make RCA CABLE and directly plug the that from your Tonor wireless mic receiver into an AV receiver? Is the audio mixer and converter you used necessary?

This a professional setup. Not a easy setup like you mentioned.
Hi ,I have a sony av receiver and a sony oled tv I just cannot seem to get any signal going into my mixer from tv using the digital analogue converter...any ideas on settings I should be using to get the signal active ,does not appear to be a straight solution to change sound to optical out cheers
My speaker needs to go to aux mode to run the optical audio if i change to Cd my optical audio will not sound whhat todo
I got everything except the mics and the mixer perfect
I like your speakers,, are they good ones that I buy one? And how is its subwoofer? would you mind to share a link for them?
I have another video reviewing the speaker system
i got a problem i got new soundbar i would like to make the output in my soundbar but it only have
ARC hdmi and optical ports what should i do ?
Thank you so much. You're freaking awesome 😂
Answering your karaoke questions >> ruclips.net/video/_JoQfggRaA8/видео.html
It should work fine if you have a single input to Sonos. It will be the same as any other input you have for Sonos since the mixer does all the work.
Have you tried it in home theater sony s20r?
Thanks, really helpful video. One question though. Currently I am using my TV for viewing ATMOS 5.1 movies. For that I have to connect my TV to the receiver through e Arc HDMI port. Now if I want to do karaoke, I have to connect my TV with the Optical port to the mixer. So does that mean that each time I watch movies I have to select on my TV the output as HDMI and each time I do Karaoke I have to choose optical output right ? Is there a way to switch between the two types of output automatically?
