- I took my friends JR and Nicki out Grennel fishing. (Bowfin) we caught a couple then met up with Alan Sibley of the Magnolia Ramblers and he caught a few and gave them to us because he had never ate them before, we invite him to supper and that is hoe last Friday Nights live came about.

We had ourselves a shining time
back 40 years ago we use to go to the swamps and catch those jack and the little red fin pike fish here in SC, they are good eatin but a thin boney fish. you can cut them in small pieces and eat the whole thing, bones and all,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

You have to tote a pocketful for losing them to snags, but an old grinnell can't pass up a Roostertail. I usually carry a few in case nothing else is biting or if I just want to fight something. And they do fight. They will also draw a gator when you get a good one hooked and he's tearing up the water.
That looked fun, but i believe we had a even bigger time watching and listening to the gathering on the porch. Thanks for taking us along

I can tell you. They leave the hole. Thats why we had to fish so many spots lol. If i could hush we coulda fished the same hole all day

Where y'all at fishin down in Florida or South Carolina ? I remember catching these mud fish or grennel what they call them down in Lake Okeechobee Florida back in the 90's and that lake is full of them big 10 pounders !!!
