Great Work! Was looking for some Amiga image to try out on my Pi400. I was waiting for PiMiga4 release and found this. This is a great release. Thanks for all the hard work. I have bought a coffee to show my appreciation!
Thank you very much for the appreciation and for the coffee:) If it doesn't work on Rpi400, try copying these files to the boot partition: www.dropbox.com/t/JuRiysP6Z7bz6T3D This image should work on both rpi4 and rpi 400. Sometimes it can cause problems if you just overwrite the SD card and don't format it. Also try another SD card manufacturer. I unfortunately don't have an Rpi400 and can't test it in any way.
Hi Tomáš - I'm a huge fan of your work! This build and your others are amazing! There is so much care and attention to detail. I hope you'll continue making great things.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It's definitely encouraging for me to do a new stuff. Your words got me out of bed and made me smile. Enjoy and play🕹
@@tomaskonvicka4135 I have a few questions, first, would it be possible to convert this entire assembly that you made to the batocera? second, would there be any source for A500 ROMs? Thx for reponding me....
@@sf1r3 Actually I made a conversion for batocera, for PC dongle, but I haven't published it yet, it's not complete. anyway when it's done, conversions between other devices with batocera will be fast. It's complete with all ROMs. I assume everyone has theirs, so I won't complicate things. It's plug and play.
@@tomaskonvicka4135 So, I'm now starting to do things with batocera, and I saw that it is easy to edit and uses the same base as Retropie, which is EmulationStation....
You're welcome. There's only Amiga stuff in this version. The other consoles have been replaced by CD32. There will be a 64GB version soon though, which will include the other consoles.
Too bad it's impossible to get a Raspberry Pi4 currently for retail price currently. Love your build for Raspberry Pi 3 B plus. Would Love to see an Amigaless version with a focus on consoles and arcade games. Your builds are rock solid and super stable compared to everything else available.
This is an outstanding compilation of Amiga games, pre-configured and easy to use! Can you tell me when you will release the next version including other platforms (especially C64)?
Thank you very much for your kind words:) It will be soon. I'm still adding the latest Amiga games and debugging the ZX Spectrum. C64 is already ready including Arcade classics, NES, SNES, Genesis, Neo Geo, Turbografx16, Master System, PSX and PSP. It will be a 64GB version. I only put a selection of the best games on there and make them tested. i don't like having thousands of untested games without complete graphics.
@@tomaskonvicka4135 My top 10 Amiga games are… 1. super frog, 2. Secret of Monkey Island, 3. Soccer Kid, 4. Toki, 5. Alien Breed - Tower Assault, 6. Brian The Lion, 7. Risky Woods, 8. Zool, 9. James Pond 2 - Robocod and 10. Elf Mania, but I’ve got tons more games I love on the Amiga.
@@skypirate4806 This is a very original and personal selection, they're all great games and they're not the same ones others name over and over again. Supefrog marked my teenage years:) Toki is one of the most successful arcade conversions. Brian the Lion is a very neglected game, yet technically absolutely perfect and even the ECS version looks like a SNES game. Elfmania too, looks like something out of Neo Geo. In short, love for life:) My favourites are Benefactor and Moonstone. Every time I turn on Moonstone, I have to finish it. And Benefactor is for long commutes to work:) Enjoy and play:) 💾🕹👾
@@tomaskonvicka4135 I’ve never played benefactor, this I’m going to have to try, as for Moonstone, I remember this game, it is really good. 👍👍, another game I really like is BC Kid. I will cherish your image on my Pi 3 for life, even my kids are having a play, and enjoying these games. Thanks again for such a great collection 👍👍❤️❤️
Thanks for the work. Had a RP4 at one time.. it was nice. But I prefer the A500Mini for the nostalgic look, mouse, gamepad.. kinda everything. Its great that the Pi does more, but... still love the Amiga Nostalgia more.
Thanks buddy:) My original intention was to put Rpi4 in the A500 mini, but as it turns out, it's not that bad on its own. It's time to comb the project from Team Pandory:)
Thank you for this! After some fiddling I got it to work and it’s just awesome! The collections are super cool. Especially the 500 mini list was original and fun. Here’s my personal feedback: I didn’t get v2 to work on my pi400. Some error about “a newer card needed”. V1 just showed rainbow and black screen, but switching hdmi port was all it took. Also the pi forgot the controller settings/mapping when I opened a game. Setting the controller keys and doing a reboot before launching any games fixed that. If I could wish for one more original collection it would be something like “obscure and unknown gems” with games like Turbo Raketti II, Bi plane duel etc. Thank you again for this super cool image! 👍👍
I'm really glad you like it, but I'm sorry it doesn't work properly. i'm a bit confused, what is V1 and what is V2? I suggested it for the PS4 joypad and others of that type (with sticks). As for games, I thought there were enough obscure games, just explore :) Instead of Turbo Raketti there's Rocketz, much more cool, and instead of Bi Plane there's Dogfight Simulator, it's the same thing but for 4 players. Also there are a lot of PD games and new games. Tiny Invaders and Tiny Bobble are great!
@@tomaskonvicka4135 i downloaded two files, one was named v1 and one was named v2, and please note; I’m not complaining! I love your work and I’ll check out the games you mention. 👍
@@on-ow3jn I know, it's cool:) I'm just trying to figure out what the problem is. There is only one v1.0 version for Rpi4. And then there is a version for Rpi3b+ and that is v2.0, but that link is by my other YT video. There are 2 links for Rpi4, zipped divided and unzipped img. There was still a version ending with iso, that one didn't work properly. One more thing, what joypad are you using?
@@tomaskonvicka4135 Okay, I belive there were two files I downloaded. Each was a separate download as I can remember. One .img and one .dmg - I did not get the .img-file to work on my Pi400, bit the .dmg-file worked great and I'm gaming like crazy 👍👍 (The file not working: Tomato_Amiga_Retropie_18_01_2022.img)
I am glad you like it. Many people don't know this new games, so it was necessary for me. I love Bubba n' Stix so for me it's in top 30, but you can make your own top 30 or top 100. Do it and put your list here:) Overall for me me was important to make selection with 800 games, because on Amiga is over 5000 games and only 1/5 is good.
@@tomaskonvicka4135 Ah ok, it's your own personal selection. I thought it was some kind of default list of the machine. Anyway, I'm still glad to have seen Bubba'n'Stix put in a top 30 list. It's my favourite Amiga game and even though it is quite respected, I often have the feeling that people do not realise how great it truly is. And you're right, there's a lot of bad games on amiga and great games are sometimes hard to spot so lists and selections are actually helpful.
@@bubbanstix2536 Actually, my picks are a bit of a compromise. You can find the real top 30 or top 100 at lemonamiga.com/games/. I also aimed at Amiga newbies who are used to consoles and therefore everything is user friendly. Each game has individual settings according to the manual and is optimized for best performance.
A comment like that is always a pleasure and there really aren't many of them. When you try it, please give me some feedback. If you like the controls on the games, game selection, etc. Thanks and enjoy:)

@@Francois_Paris Hey, thanks for the feedback. I was hoping it would be more positive:) If you have a problem with a game try replacing the lha file. For example, download it from here: gamesnostalgia.com/whdownload. It looks like your TV has a problem with the PAL system. Try changing it in the retroarch menu/video. Press the home button and the triangle (Y) while playing. If you turn on Run Command Configuration, you can then change the video mode when the game starts by pressing the A or B button. Otherwise, at the moment I'm working on a merge with other consoles, like the RPI3 version.
Hey, buddy.) I'm so glad you like my work. I don't have much experience with Android frontends. There are several of them and I'm not sure which way to go so that it's not a waste of work, and I don't even know if it's possible to create some images similar to the Raspberry. The only thing is to prepare directories and some installation instructions. I myself would have something on a tablet or mobile. I'll play around with Launchbox and Daijisho. When something like that is ready, you'll know. But I will have a PC dongle version of Batocera in the near future.
It looks outstanding! I can see from the video that lots of love have gone into it. I will keep trying to download. For some reason (many people in parallel?) it keeps saying that I cannot download multiple files at the same time and that my connection is too slow -I am sure that is not the issue :D.
Thanks a lot. I'm glad you noticed:) I spent a few years on it. I do it myself in my spare time, so it's slow going. The main advantage is that each game has an individual configuration. Try downloading overnight, maybe it will go better, in the meantime I'll create another link, somewhere else.
@@zgolkar I'm really glad:) Please give me some feedback after some time. I'd like to know if the game controls work properly and what could be improved. Thanks and enjoy:)
@@tomaskonvicka4135 There is one thing that is very visible yet easy to fix. Some backgrounds make the game list difficult to read. Maybe a rectangle darkening the game list area in the backgrounds would make them more readable.
Many thanks for nice words:) That's why I do it🤩 This version does not include other consoles like Rpi3. Those will be in the 64GB version, it will take a while.
Just want to ask. How do i add games to the list? I just want to add a few games to it. This collection is like already 99.8% of all the best stuff ever made for the Amiga. :) Unlike standard Emulation Station, i can't "Update Games List". If there is any guide, would appreciate if you can point me to it. Thank you.
Hi.) If you want to add a game, copy it as a packaged lha whdload file to the Amiga root. Then edit the "gamelist.xml" file in a simple text editor. Following the example of other games, create a new entry at the end of the list. I'm not going to post a tutorial here on how to transfer files between PC and Raspberry, but there are plenty of tutorials on YT. The boxart in the same style is not downloadable anywhere since I created it. But I can send you a template for After Effects. Good luck:)
Thanks for the kind words:) It's just this version, hopefully there will be a new one soon, but it will be different with just other extra consoles. Please don't do any updates, neither system or Amiga emulators. The config files would not work properly. Enjoy!:)🕹
Hi Thomas, great job! I try to download the 3 parts but in dropbox the second part always cuts off... do you have a torrent or something similar? thank you!
Thank you very much for the beautiful words:) What about other links like DepositFiles, or MegaNZ? With MegaNZ I think you can download one file a day for free, it's annoying, I know, but that's how it works. I'm not sure about DepositFiles. Please let me know how you get on.

@@CompuforceWally I considered it unnecessary to add more CD32 games, because very often don't have CD music, or it is worse than the original version with MODs. Personally I prefer Benefactor for example, or Brian the Lion for the A500/1200, the music with Amiga MODs is just better, plus Benefactor has badly redone graphics on CD32. Anyway, if you want to add more games, you can download them at these links: gamesnostalgia.com/whdownload mega.nz/folder/gdozjZxL#uI5SheetsAd-NYKMeRjf2A And for save space, use the "chdman " program to compress them into "chd". Hi!, Thanks for the work. One question, I have tried to make the distribution work on a raspberry Pi4B and it does not work. Do you have a version that works with this board? I have tried to copy over Tomato's boot partition, the boot of a Rasperry PI OS (32-bit) installation, keeping Tomato's config.txt, but this doesn't work. Any ideas to make it work on the Pi4B? Thanks and regards
Hi:) I don't have enough knowledge in Raspberry system. The version of the system there is a year old. Maybe try these files: fixup4.dat start4.elf If that doesn't work, my only idea is to make a new system and copy the contents of the games, including configurations and themes, but that won't be fun either.

I'm so glad you like it:) This image is made for Rpi4 with 4GB ram. Maybe it would help to install the clean Retropie system image that is for Rpi42GB on another SD card and copy the mentioned file from the boot partition, or multiple files from that folder and replace them on my image.
excellent work. At the risk of repeating myself is there anyway to play them on a smaller screen like the preview window size so they don't look pixelated . Other than that it's perfect and nicely done. edit Second samurai won't boot up but that's the only one so far.
Glad you like it:) If you want a smaller screen, there are several options. Go to "Configuration" (cog wheel), then Eazy Hay Toolkit and press Overscreen Enable, the retropie will reset. Another option is to individually set each game, while you're in the game, press home + triangle (X). You'll see the Quick menu, go to Options, Video, Zoom mode and experiment. Be careful, each setting is automatically saved.
@@tomaskonvicka4135 That worked a treat. I prefer the smaller screen. Thanks again for all your help. So, apparently rebooting without a joypad attached let's you re-map any newly connected controller, nice! Now, I seemed to have messed something up with the faulty previous joypad configuration. After the start-up splash screen which does have sound, the menu music is gone! While browsing the game list you can hear the video's sound & sounds ingame. How do I get the menu music back? There are tons of sound configuration options, but can't find the background menu music (yet).
@@plugexpert Hi, glad it works for you:) I see you always answer yourself:) I'll try to answer you now. If you want to reset all the controllers to their original state, you have to go to menu "configuration" (coq wheel) > Eazy Hax tool kit > Facory reset controllers. BGM is not on by default, what was playing was just the intro. You turn it on in "configuration" > BGM Player Retropie > General settings > Toggle (at 4:40 in the video). But then it will interfere with the sound in the videonaps of the games. So you turn it off in another menu - press start on your controller > sound settings > enable video audio.

The first run always takes longer. Often the boot is done twice because the partition is being expanded. You have to be patient and wait, if you somehow disrupt this process it may cause an error and you will have to re-write the game to the sd card. If everything is done correctly, you may get a message after booting that the gamepad is not plugged in and needs to be configured.
Question 🙋: would it be possible to alter screen settings, such in case want to use this on a 4:3 VGA CRT monitor, hence to output full screen instead of side black bars.
I think it could be done. You're using an HDMI to VGA adapter? You can set the whole system to 4:3, or just the games, but the theme is made for 16:9, I don't know what that will do. The problem is that it runs at 50 Hz to make scrolling in games beautifully smooth, only few games are made for NTSC. The resolution and frequency you can set in the Configuration/Raspi-config.
@@tomaskonvicka4135 correct yes using HDMI2VGA generic white adapter. How can I get to the raspi config file, can be done by simply inserting the MicroSD in my PC or I can do this directly on the Raspberry pi with a command to drop into console mode?
@@CompuforceWally Did you manage to set up the screen? Actually, it works in Retropie, but also in PC. When you put it into the PC, you can only see the BOOT partition, but there's a configuration text file and you have to change the screen resolution code there, you have to google it. Or you can do it in Retropie - Configuration (cog wheel) - Raspi config.
@@tomaskonvicka4135 I will try using the RetroPie config then, cause when I press start I get only sound, and other options, never browsed to the raspi config yet.
@@tomaskonvicka4135 managed to get to the config screen and lots of options available. When I have time I will experiment what it's best. The first 4:3 option I tried did not work for games. They will not launch but instead revert back after attempting to launch. Time to experiment. :)
@HilbertHimmelwaerts I'm sorry to hear that. It may be related to the small 2GB ram. I did it for the 4GB version. And what does or doesn't it do? If you just have a black screen, try a second HDMI.
But the new games that are there are demos, betas, or available for free directly from the developers. The demos are supposed to help and advertise them. I once made the mistake of putting a non-free game on there, but I fixed that right away. I draw from different people's packages, sometimes they put it out there.
@@tomaskonvicka4135 ok; Raspberry Pi Imager should be able to handle it (although my first thought was to use an ISO (CD) Burner... that's not going to work)

@@tomaskonvicka4135 I've now done so, with the same result. I guess I'll wait to hear whether other people are having success with version 1.0 from Dropbox. I would like to leave this message for those like me who really appreciated the great work done for this collection but want to use the Joystick and not the pre-configured Gamepad. My Raspberry skills are less than zero so I needed a quick and very simple way to solve the problem and configure my Joystick. In the game menu I pressed F4 on the connected keyboard to access the Raspberry command line. So I typed the following command: rm \opt etropie\configs\all\emulationstation\es_input.cfg (used to remove the GamePad configuration file) I restarted Raspberry. Once I got to the game menu (even if it seems to give you the possibility to configure the Joystick, do it anyway but it won't happen correctly) I then followed this extremely simple tutorial to reset correctly the previously removed joystick configuration file with default setup: ruclips.net/video/Yv-fclDfd5k/видео.html Having restarted Raspberry again as indicated in the guide, I was finally able to configure my Joystick as normally happens when starting Emulation Station for the first time.
finally got this to work! i tried to download the 3 part one again and unzip but it was corrupt, So i redownloaded the single large one from google drive. Compared this hash with the one i'd previously downloaded and it was different (even though they were the same size) so something must have been wrong with the old one. So if anyone isnt sure why theirs isnt working, check the hash on it. (in windows powershell type 'Get-FileHash nameofyourfile.img' and it will generate a SHA256 hash. the working file I got has a hash of 7A6126B5D0453158C60B02839B3F6F3EA73C5BED9651D784EB92B07174617850.
Here’s my personal feedback:
I didn’t get v2 to work on my pi400.

Looks fun! N00b question here, but how do you install such an image, I bet simply dragging and dropping to a freshly formatted sd wont do? Also what format type should be used beforehand, fat32?
nevermind, I got it installed. Seemed to have quickly messed it up though, trying to configure my generic usb joypad. Now I can't get it to re-map the buttons or move around the menu's anymore argh. Is there a way to reset to the image defaults?
So, apparently rebooting without a joypad attached let's you re-map any newly connected controller, nice! Now, I seemed to have messed something up with the faulty previous joypad configuration. After the start-up splash screen which does have sound, the menu music is gone! While browsing the game list you can hear the video's sound & sounds ingame. How do I get the menu music back? There are tons of sound configuration options, but can't find the background menu music (yet).
Boom, think I somehow turned off the bgm player, or is this something else which can replace the default music?
@@tomaskonvicka4135 Thanks for the additional info and this awesome image! Btw, should there be navigation sounds, moving around menu options, I don't hear any? How do I turn these back on?
I just cant get this to work (original Rpi4 4gb release model) . tried writing the image 4 times, but i get:
-black screen (flashing green light for a while), then many errors:
- [106.5] EXT4FS-fs error (mmcblk0p2): ext4_mb_generate_buddy:744: gro
- upon reboot, boot error in 1.5 seconds with FS errors.
I also tried adding the extra files that were for a pi400 just in case it changed anything, nope.
Tried changing ports, and all that meant was watching the boot gradient for longer.
It makes me think its the SD card, but I wiped it and burnt the original pi3 tomato image and that works fine, so I dont know. Maybe I should just wait for the next release? :(
I'm sorry, buddy. Looks like some files are corrupted. I get similar errors when I write an image without formatting the card first.
Interesting that this works for someone. I'll do it again from scratch in the future.
Any chance this will work on the 3B? This looks faaaaaaaaaaaantastic!
I'm glad you're glad:)
I have the version I released in January for Rpi3, it looks similar except for the New Games. On the other hand, so has the other consoles.

Karta byla nová, ještě jsem zkusil jednu noname a výsledek úplně stejný. Netušíš čím by to mohlo být?
Nazdar.) A kolikagigový Raspberry máš? Dělal jsem to pro 4GB variantu. Jistym trikem se to dá rozchodit i na 2GB verzi.
Mám 4GB variantu... ještě jsem zkusil kartu přeformátovat a flashnu to znova. To samé mi dělala i Pimiga, stejná chyba... edit--- start4elf: is not compatible
This board requires newer software
@@trybeet Tak co? Jak to dopadlo? Když to nékomu takhle zlobí, zabírá když si na jinou SD kartu stáhneš poslední oficiální čistou verzi Emulation station a pak z oddílu "boot" překopíruješ zmíněnej soubor "start4elf" k tomu mýmu obrazu.
Is there a foolproof way to download? Dropbox thinks my connection is too slow, but it’s full fibre so I’m not sure what the issue is
It's probably overloaded. Try another link, there are two others.
Or try again later.
So, is it working?
@@tomaskonvicka4135 hi! I managed to download two of the three parts of the zip file, I’ll try for the third and see how we get on :)
I've tried setting up a new controller to use with this image. A usb switch controller recognized as horipad when I connect the controller. After setting the controller input and trying to play games, every time I get a notice saying 'horipad not configured' ! Are you meant to re-boot the Pi after first setting up the controller input so it is saved/remembered? What am I doing wrong here? Seems like the input is remembered for navigating the menus, but not when trying to play games.
I think I'll get a call center:)
It looks like the configuration doesn't want to save because of space.
I forgot one thing. Every time you write a new image, you have to go to Configuration > Raspi-config > Advanced > Expand file system. This way the card capacity is used to the maximum. (It is also necessary for saving stats.)
Then try to set up the controller. Maybe reset all of them to factory settings.
more info, after booting a game in the bottom left of the screen I get;
(i) Configuration override loaded.
(i) Core remap file loaded.
Hori CO.,LTD. HORIPAD S (3853/193) not configured
While it does work browsing the menu's. Is this because of the core remap & configuration override?
So, plugging back in the sony controller which did work in the past, I encounter the same problem. Seems like the "Eazy Hax tool kit > Facory reset controllers", has caused a problem where I now can only use controllers in the menu! Do you have an idea how to fix this?
@@plugexpert It is possible to download some drivers in Configuration > Retropie-setup.
Retropie is not compatible with everything that has buttons, try googling.
@@tomaskonvicka4135 Hey I appreciate the help and have googled the particular joypad. I think the eazy hax tool kit > factory reset has caused these issues as the previous joypad configuration that did work, also doesn't work anymore. I still have the image so will probably reflash. Cheers
Hi I have an RPi4 with 2Gb and when l boot the memory card l keep getting a message that I the board requires newer software and the start4.elf is not compatible. Any ideas why this is happening ? I downloaded the image from Dropbox.
Sorry mate, I was doing it for the 4GB version. Try installing an official clean Raspberry system on another SD card. Transfer the boot files to my image. The boot folder is also accessible on the PC. it's a punk solution, I've never done this before.
Please let me know how you succeed.
@@tomaskonvicka4135 i replaced all the start4.elf files but it still did not boot to the main screen. Message on the boot screen says `end Kernal panic - not syncing: System is deadlocked on memory. So I assume it is a memory issue. No problem as I have the RPi 3 version. Thanks

Hola que comando se usa no arranca rapido como en tu video me queda la pantalla negra pidiéndome un comando cuál es???
Does it work on a raspberry pi 4b model?
Try it. I think yes.
@HilbertHimmelwaerts I'm sorry to hear that. It may be related to the small 2GB ram.
I did it for the 4GB version.
And what does or doesn't it do? If you just have a black screen, try a second HDMI.
Nice package. But I don't like that you include new games which are active on sale. People currently developing for the Amiga should be supported.
But the new games that are there are demos, betas, or available for free directly from the developers.
The demos are supposed to help and advertise them. I once made the mistake of putting a non-free game on there, but I fixed that right away. I draw from different people's packages, sometimes they put it out there.

So I typed the following command:
rm \opt
etropie\configs\all\emulationstation\es_input.cfg
(used to remove the GamePad configuration file)
I restarted Raspberry. Once I got to the game menu (even if it seems to give you the possibility to configure the Joystick, do it anyway but it won't happen correctly) I then followed this extremely simple tutorial to reset correctly the previously removed joystick configuration file with default setup:

Having restarted Raspberry again as indicated in the guide, I was finally able to configure my Joystick as normally happens when starting Emulation Station for the first time.
