It's pretty effing bad. Mercy didn't need a buff. A competitive game shouldn't be supporting that playstyle. The Sombra buff to compensate for the Mercy buff will also have the unintended effect of ruining the game for the rest of the lobby since a lot of elos are going to be seeing 2 Sombras and 2 Mercys at all times. The other 6 players in the game are going to be miserable. This game needs to die already

I'm surprised they didnt nerf baps health since he has the boots and good bap players abuse the boots because they are an insane mobility tool. Not to mention his 3 health pools you need to get through to actually kill him, it really would not hurt if he lost 25 of his 400 effective health. This is all coming from someone who has bap as their second most played support hero.
There’s a lot of heros who are hyper mobile who didn’t get this change, for whatever reason. Big one is genji, I don’t think they should’ve nerfed genji, but if they want mobile heros to have less health he should be one of the first on the chopping block

With that Sombra buff it makes playing juno hell. You have no self healing and the virus + some shooting pretty much just instakills you before your other support can even react

Lifeweaver's petal resetting after 2 seconds is actually a nerf against certain heroes. Bc petal now requires a player to stand ontop of it beyond 2 seconds, lifeweaver can no longer counter certain deployables by lifting them up (sym teleporter, winston shield, mauga ult, even catching a dva bomb in certain circumstances).
I think you misunderstood though. I think the petal goes up but after two seconds if no one is on it, it will fall back down. Therefore u can still lift deployables. We will see if deployables keep it in the air or not

i don't like tank doom and tank doom is all i know 😭😭 the issue with doom mains is either they're unstoppable gods or they just figured out the concept of what a computer is... if you get a shitty doom then the entire game is over before it even started, there's no one else to pick up the slack since there's only one tank. i've had SO many games ruined by egotistical doom mains who keep running in cluelessly and refusing to switch when they have a negative kd 😭
@@fr00tiie Some players need to spend more time in QP on new (to them) characters before throwing comp games. I’ve seen too many doom players with zero cooldown management, which is also true for other tanks, but few tanks get punished as hard as him for wasting resources.
The problem with push when it released wasn't the boosted frequency it was that it was boosted for WAY too long. If i remember correctly it basically lasted the entire season. If they just do the boosted frequency for clash for like a week or two at max then i think it is a good thing.

Her hero identity is not a dive tank, there is a certain soul/identity with every character. Imo they just need to go back to ow 1 orisa and just nerf the heavy sustain from supports that enabled double shield to sustain.

What you want is a different hero. I like Orisa as she is because she centers around smart cooldown-oriented play, and predictively aiming left click at range feels genuinely satisfying. That said... you might be cooking with the Hanzo bit. New ult idea? :)
For the Moira percentage: At 200 HP dealing 55 damage it had a TTK(Time to Kill) of 3.63 seconds then after health buffs at 250 HP dealing 60 damage TTK was 4.16 seconds and now with 225 HP dealing 65 damage TTK is 3.46 seconds, hope this helps.

played 10 games and junkrat sombra is so oppressive because she’s basically the same as 250 BUT she now can kill you faster as a support or mobile dps and tp away juno is useless against sombra she can hack you out your flight double jump etc she marks you for death to her whole team if you’re a support if she doesn’t melt you 😂 junk spam can be dealt with but just more annoying since it bounces twice so it goes further into chokes or corners but sombra is a nightmare to deal with now as a support
It's a 2 shot that only instantly kills you if he's practically hugging you. Pay attention to where he is, use a headset, and you'll be fine against a flanking junkrat.
I don't know why they decreased Juno's fire rate, it feels shittier to shoot, she does less healing AND damage, and to top it all off, a hp nerf. What a great way to bury your new hero before she makes it to comp.

Those LW buffs are actually insane, ngl. His biggest weakness was the delay you’d have in healing an ally for the first time, often meaning low hp targets would die before your heal is fully charged. Petal changes also gives sooo much more mobility, it’s gonna be pretty difficult to dive a LW now, if they’re even semi good at dancing with their petal

Sombra already made any game she was in less fun, the team she's on is basically down a dps while the enemy tank doesn't get to play as well as trapping supports or just any poor person leaving spawn alone, now she gets to run to your spawn even faster.
I understand if the Sombra you keep getting on your team aren't good at the character, but saying the team with the Sombra is down a DPS is... questionable. Here's a list of things any decent sombra will do to benefit the team: Shut someone down who is about to push one of their buttons on you. Allow you to see critical enemies through walls. Cause havoc on the backline, making the enemy healers unable to do their job. CC the fuck out of the enemy tank. Kill anyone who dares be on their own, including spawn-camping. Prevent enemies from killing you either by distraction, kill assistance, or hacking. Keep your opponents from healing from health packs, and keeping vital ones stocked for you. These jobs, when done correctly, will allow the sombra's allies to simply steamroll. The team with the Sombra is not 'Down a DPS', this idea only spreads because people see a DPS who has a lower damage number and assume they aren't helping, while ignoring their 12 elims and 25 assists. Now, if you think it isn't fun to be playing AGAINST a Sombra, that's completely fair. Kinda her job to be a dick, but I get it if you think having her in the game isn't fun.
I haven't considered a Sombra on my team as being down a dps since Ow 1. As long as the player is decent, I'm happy to see sombras on my team. Less happy if I see an enemy sombra though lol
I've been playing Juno for hours (and during trial too), and I still think she's underpowered. Her ultimate charges extremely slowly for minimal payoff, and the speed boost isn't fast enough in my opinion. It feels like you have to put in twice as much effort to achieve the same level of healing as other supports. I appreciate that she's not just a mindless heal-bot, but I believe her healing output and damage to enemies should be increased. This is coming from an Ana main btw.

@@cookie5493No, he still has to charge his healing. It charges significantly lower and using the passive charge would literally take 13 seconds to heal 200 HP. The passive charges just allows you to play more aggressively without worrying one of your teammates is going to need healing during his swap time + blossom charge. But that only works for the first 80 HP, he’ll need to manually charge the rest.
Who on earth actually thought hanzo or juno needed to be nerfed. The balancing team just needs to admit they hate hanzo at this point because he's been in such a sad state after his one shot was removed and just got nerfed for basically no reason with zero compensation when most every hero who got the same hp nerf got SOMETHING in return.

Just provides less incentive to actually strategize as a team cus it just falls into an rng death match sooner or later anyways so there's no big point to think things through. They say OW is a team game but every aspect they've introduced in OW2 has been pulling everything further and further away from actually playing as a team. A team that rolls should be rewarded for it, and if rolls happen too frequently then we have a metric to prove the format isn't healthy. Lets stop tackling symptoms and start looking for root causes.
it seems to me that rather than nerfing the tanks, they are bringing old supports up to the standards of newer ones in terms of damage/offensive potential. Also, health nerfs make annoying characters easier to kill. I think its a good idea for an approach to make other roles more fun (by being able to get more kills) without having to revert tanks to the way they were before giga buff. Good job on blizzard's part, I'm glad they are trying a different approach
I think it'd be cool if they reduced the distance torbs turret can detect and fire at players and make it so that if torb lands a hit on a player the turret will lock on to them for a few seconds from a much longer range
I think before, damage boosting would create a blue glowing orb in the middle of the damage boost target. So the new blue glow might be equally visible to enemies.

To answer the question on percentage for the moira damage. 55 damage of a 200 hp character is 27.5 percent. Moving into the 60 damage against the 250 hp character is it comes out to 24%. Now we bring the damage to 65 against 225 hp characters which comes out to 28.9% so this is the strongest matchup moira has had with the numbers.
Normally, to this day, I got to flats for all overwatch news as a tank main myself. However, after this patch and seeing his reaction ... compared to Samitos .. guys its night and day and I agree with sam more. Flats I love you man, you're seem like a genuine good dude, but they didn't cook with this patch. We're getting cooked. You seem alittle .. protective.
A lot of people are flaming the LW changes without valid points. Raising DVA bombs on a petal can still be done. Even before this patch you have to manually activate it by stepping on it, and even then the drop down is after two seconds. In most cases you want to raise the dva bomb at the last second so the enemy team have no time to react. So that argument doesn’t make sense. In the case of raising a winston Winston bubble with petal, the time it takes to raise the petal plus the two second fall down time is still a long period where you can get a lot of damage in on a winton, it’s not as much as a nerf as it’s been made out to be. Even then you can get back on the petal at keep the bubble raised. Overall it’s a net buff because it provides more operability and strategy for an elevator type system of attack and manoeuvring :)
I’m also sad about kiri losing the unique headshot modifier. I’m low gold and have terrible aim, so I’m not even hitting headshots that often, but the absolute joy from hitting the rare double headshot was worth the risk. I guess the headshots are still strong, it just feels less special

Wow, this sure is a comment Mercy damage boost is back at 30% and Juno ult is a 35% damage boost so Juno ult is Stronger, not equal. Moira's dps before the Season 9 health buffs was 50, not 55, so it would be 25%. and then 60/250 is 26% not 24%. So S12 Moira kills 250hp hero's slightly slower than a 200 hp champion in >S9, and kills 225hp faster than that.

I ran the numbers and 55 dps against 200 hp is less effective than 60 dps against 250 hp. Basically, using the numbers flats provided you can see that before this patch Moira could kill a 250 hp character in 4.16 repeating seconds whilst before she could kill 200 hp character in 3.6363 repeating seconds. Edit: Now at 65 dps vs 225 hp we get a rate of 3.461538461538462 seconds to kill. Making her stronger than before the hp buff assuming it’s movement character.

I actually agree on Kiriko. I wasn't drawn to her because she a new hero, it's because she had that skill expression. When they changed the headshot damage from 120 to 112 but increased base to 45, I was a bit salty but I accepted I got a little leeway. Now it just feels crap because there's not really a reward for hitting headshots. I don't get why games have to try and make every character be catered towards the 'lower end'.
Here's the thing playing honest in a dishonest game where everyone doing easy to hit brain dead damage. They nuked her reward while having the worst body shot for having that weapon archetype projectile slow fire rate the reward wasn't there even without the whole extra 50 health any type if healing fuck with her break points anyway when everyone was 200

The only tank nerf was Dva, and it was the DM change being reverted. They buffed Mercy’s damage boost and nerfed some projectile heroes’ hp like Echo and Hanzo, but left Ashe and Widowmaker untouched. They nerfed Juno’s hp, nerfed the only part of her kit that actually requires you to use your brain (her mediblaster) and buffed her ‘play-for-you’ ability (the torpedoes.) AND they buffed Lifeweaver’s ‘play-for-you’ primary fire (healing blossom.) Let that sink in.
D.va needed a nerf, Widowmaker mightve needed a nerf, but mercy needed a buff and echo and hanzo desperately needed a nerf. Juno needed a buff on her torpedoes as they were terrible. Lifeweaver needed a buff in most aspects since his heals wildly underperform compared to others. This patch was fine and you need to cope

Sombra buff means even when we kill the sombra through sheer luck as a support, she's just gonna be back in about 15 seconds to murder us. Fun! Giving her infinite cloak was the worst thing they ever did.
Now I wonder how Attack/Defend would look in this game. They already sort of have it with the payload maps where we are required to capture a point first so why not attempt it since they also added 5cp? I think Attack/Defend would be pretty fun in OW2
God I feel so bad for the rest of team 4. All of the Hero design, the artwork, cosmetics, great new gamemode, amazing new hero. And then we have the balance team just crapping all over their work and diminishing it.
personally i think Junkrat's grenades should also lose some damage after 2nd bounce because it being smaller doesn't matter that much if you can't see it and dodge, probably not half damage but not the full 125, maybe 75 or 100?

The one downside of the platform is it was kind of nice having a little extra area you could fall back to on high ground briefly or raise it between high ground positions for allies to be able to jump between them, but the added utility is very worth it. Still wish I could destroy it manually without also wasting my next platform though. For Juno, I'd much rather they just nerf the healing rate than nerf the fire-rate... her gun felt really cool and alien with how fast it fired, now it sounds more like just a regular gun.

I have to agree with the kiriko "buff" being bad. I would've much rather the body dmg still be the 45, and the critical mod go back up to x3 to make it feel better to hit those shots.
Love how characters like Ana gets a skin and a mythic weapon skin and tons of skins since ow2 as well as genji mercy and kirk but some heroes have nearly gotten 1 if not a single skin since the release of the new game. So frustrating. Don't main them but would be cool to see some redesign of character models other than the same 9 characters.
Mercy buffs dont impress me honestly. Keep the healing buff, remove the damage boost buff, and remove the health nerf. Alternatively, replace the damage boost buff with mobility cooldown decreases. Low healing and the clunky feeling mobility was her biggest issues, NOT damage boost.
Better yet… just remove mercy from the game. Can’t wait for this season of boosted mercy bots sitting around the corner giving extra dmg boost for their Smurf booster
As a hanzo main, i actually like the hanzo nerf. Im for sure noticing that the better player wins the 1v1 now, having less health makes it feel like I can actually die, whereas before it kinda felt like if I was being healed I was basically just a tank. Also hanzo went from being able to one shot 3 heroes to 11 so overrall a buff.
Well he got an indirect buff, he one shots her now and a few more heroes. I'd have to test if its worth though, I don't think he should be 225 cause he's not that mobile

I personally think that’s a pretty bad take. Mercy needs the buff, she was the worst character in the game bar none. Why have a character in the game, if they’re going to be absolute dog shit. No character should be actual trash and be so bad that it negatively impacts your team by just existing on it. The somba one is, whatever. Lifeweaver's petal resetting after 2 seconds is actually a nerf against certain heroes. Bc petal now requires a player to stand ontop of it beyond 2 seconds, lifeweaver can no longer counter certain deployables by lifting them up (sym teleporter, winston shield, mauga ult, even catching a dva bomb in certain circumstances).
I think you misunderstood though. I think the petal goes up but after two seconds if no one is on it, it will fall back down. Therefore u can still lift deployables. We will see if deployables keep it in the air or not

The problem with push when it released wasn't the boosted frequency it was that it was boosted for WAY too long. If i remember correctly it basically lasted the entire season. If they just do the boosted frequency for clash for like a week or two at max then i think it is a good thing.

For the Moira percentage: At 200 HP dealing 55 damage it had a TTK(Time to Kill) of 3.63 seconds then after health buffs at 250 HP dealing 60 damage TTK was 4.16 seconds and now with 225 HP dealing 65 damage TTK is 3.46 seconds, hope this helps.

The Lifeweaver buff to his main heal slowly charging passively is such a huge QOL improvement. His heals now always feel fully charged in faster time.
I don't know why they decreased Juno's fire rate, it feels shittier to shoot, she does less healing AND damage, and to top it all off, a hp nerf. What a great way to bury your new hero before she makes it to comp.

Those LW buffs are actually insane, ngl. His biggest weakness was the delay you’d have in healing an ally for the first time, often meaning low hp targets would die before your heal is fully charged.
Petal changes also gives sooo much more mobility, it’s gonna be pretty difficult to dive a LW now, if they’re even semi good at dancing with their petal

Sombra already made any game she was in less fun, the team she's on is basically down a dps while the enemy tank doesn't get to play as well as trapping supports or just any poor person leaving spawn alone, now she gets to run to your spawn even faster.
I understand if the Sombra you keep getting on your team aren't good at the character, but saying the team with the Sombra is down a DPS is... questionable.
Here's a list of things any decent sombra will do to benefit the team:
Shut someone down who is about to push one of their buttons on you.
Allow you to see critical enemies through walls.
Cause havoc on the backline, making the enemy healers unable to do their job.
CC the fuck out of the enemy tank.
Kill anyone who dares be on their own, including spawn-camping.
Prevent enemies from killing you either by distraction, kill assistance, or hacking.
Keep your opponents from healing from health packs, and keeping vital ones stocked for you.
These jobs, when done correctly, will allow the sombra's allies to simply steamroll.
The team with the Sombra is not 'Down a DPS', this idea only spreads because people see a DPS who has a lower damage number and assume they aren't helping, while ignoring their 12 elims and 25 assists.
Now, if you think it isn't fun to be playing AGAINST a Sombra, that's completely fair. Kinda her job to be a dick, but I get it if you think having her in the game isn't fun.
I haven't considered a Sombra on my team as being down a dps since Ow 1. As long as the player is decent, I'm happy to see sombras on my team. Less happy if I see an enemy sombra though lol
I've been playing Juno for hours (and during trial too), and I still think she's underpowered. Her ultimate charges extremely slowly for minimal payoff, and the speed boost isn't fast enough in my opinion. It feels like you have to put in twice as much effort to achieve the same level of healing as other supports. I appreciate that she's not just a mindless heal-bot, but I believe her healing output and damage to enemies should be increased. This is coming from an Ana main btw.

@@cookie5493No, he still has to charge his healing. It charges significantly lower and using the passive charge would literally take 13 seconds to heal 200 HP. The passive charges just allows you to play more aggressively without worrying one of your teammates is going to need healing during his swap time + blossom charge. But that only works for the first 80 HP, he’ll need to manually charge the rest.

Just provides less incentive to actually strategize as a team cus it just falls into an rng death match sooner or later anyways so there's no big point to think things through. They say OW is a team game but every aspect they've introduced in OW2 has been pulling everything further and further away from actually playing as a team. A team that rolls should be rewarded for it, and if rolls happen too frequently then we have a metric to prove the format isn't healthy. Lets stop tackling symptoms and start looking for root causes.

it seems to me that rather than nerfing the tanks, they are bringing old supports up to the standards of newer ones in terms of damage/offensive potential. Also, health nerfs make annoying characters easier to kill.
I think its a good idea for an approach to make other roles more fun (by being able to get more kills) without having to revert tanks to the way they were before giga buff. Good job on blizzard's part, I'm glad they are trying a different approach

To answer the question on percentage for the moira damage. 55 damage of a 200 hp character is 27.5 percent. Moving into the 60 damage against the 250 hp character is it comes out to 24%. Now we bring the damage to 65 against 225 hp characters which comes out to 28.9% so this is the strongest matchup moira has had with the numbers.

I figured out that if u manually charge a heal with lifeweaver then cancel by switching to damage, u can hold on to the full charged heal to use later
Normally, to this day, I got to flats for all overwatch news as a tank main myself. However, after this patch and seeing his reaction ... compared to Samitos .. guys its night and day and I agree with sam more. Flats I love you man, you're seem like a genuine good dude, but they didn't cook with this patch. We're getting cooked. You seem alittle .. protective.
A lot of people are flaming the LW changes without valid points. Raising DVA bombs on a petal can still be done. Even before this patch you have to manually activate it by stepping on it, and even then the drop down is after two seconds. In most cases you want to raise the dva bomb at the last second so the enemy team have no time to react. So that argument doesn’t make sense.
In the case of raising a winston Winston bubble with petal, the time it takes to raise the petal plus the two second fall down time is still a long period where you can get a lot of damage in on a winton, it’s not as much as a nerf as it’s been made out to be. Even then you can get back on the petal at keep the bubble raised.
Overall it’s a net buff because it provides more operability and strategy for an elevator type system of attack and manoeuvring :)
I’m also sad about kiri losing the unique headshot modifier. I’m low gold and have terrible aim, so I’m not even hitting headshots that often, but the absolute joy from hitting the rare double headshot was worth the risk. I guess the headshots are still strong, it just feels less special
It’s actually even a headshot damage buff because they will now do 120 per headshot instead of 112.5

Mercy damage boost is back at 30% and Juno ult is a 35% damage boost so Juno ult is Stronger, not equal.
Moira's dps before the Season 9 health buffs was 50, not 55, so it would be 25%. and then 60/250 is 26% not 24%. So S12 Moira kills 250hp hero's slightly slower than a 200 hp champion in >S9, and kills 225hp faster than that.

I ran the numbers and 55 dps against 200 hp is less effective than 60 dps against 250 hp. Basically, using the numbers flats provided you can see that before this patch Moira could kill a 250 hp character in 4.16 repeating seconds whilst before she could kill 200 hp character in 3.6363 repeating seconds.
Edit: Now at 65 dps vs 225 hp we get a rate of 3.461538461538462 seconds to kill. Making her stronger than before the hp buff assuming it’s movement character.
25:09 As a kiri main I gotta admit, even being a buff(from 112 to 120 on crit) I dont like the change, I really like the design idea of demanding precision to get value, and it goes the other way

I actually agree on Kiriko. I wasn't drawn to her because she a new hero, it's because she had that skill expression. When they changed the headshot damage from 120 to 112 but increased base to 45, I was a bit salty but I accepted I got a little leeway. Now it just feels crap because there's not really a reward for hitting headshots. I don't get why games have to try and make every character be catered towards the 'lower end'.
Here's the thing playing honest in a dishonest game where everyone doing easy to hit brain dead damage. They nuked her reward while having the worst body shot for having that weapon archetype projectile slow fire rate the reward wasn't there even without the whole extra 50 health any type if healing fuck with her break points anyway when everyone was 200

The only tank nerf was Dva, and it was the DM change being reverted.
They buffed Mercy’s damage boost and nerfed some projectile heroes’ hp like Echo and Hanzo, but left Ashe and Widowmaker untouched.
They nerfed Juno’s hp, nerfed the only part of her kit that actually requires you to use your brain (her mediblaster) and buffed her ‘play-for-you’ ability (the torpedoes.)
AND they buffed Lifeweaver’s ‘play-for-you’ primary fire (healing blossom.)
Let that sink in.
D.va needed a nerf, Widowmaker mightve needed a nerf, but mercy needed a buff and echo and hanzo desperately needed a nerf. Juno needed a buff on her torpedoes as they were terrible. Lifeweaver needed a buff in most aspects since his heals wildly underperform compared to others. This patch was fine and you need to cope

And Juno’s Torpedoes were fine as they were. How do you expect an ability that both deals damage and healing and can target every single player on the map all at once to be overpowered? The numbers were fine as they were, but it’s the fact that you think a ‘play-for-you’ ability needed buffs speaks volumes.

Sombra buff means even when we kill the sombra through sheer luck as a support, she's just gonna be back in about 15 seconds to murder us. Fun! Giving her infinite cloak was the worst thing they ever did.

Now I wonder how Attack/Defend would look in this game. They already sort of have it with the payload maps where we are required to capture a point first so why not attempt it since they also added 5cp? I think Attack/Defend would be pretty fun in OW2
God I feel so bad for the rest of team 4. All of the Hero design, the artwork, cosmetics, great new gamemode, amazing new hero.
And then we have the balance team just crapping all over their work and diminishing it.
personally i think Junkrat's grenades should also lose some damage after 2nd bounce because it being smaller doesn't matter that much if you can't see it and dodge, probably not half damage but not the full 125, maybe 75 or 100?

The one downside of the platform is it was kind of nice having a little extra area you could fall back to on high ground briefly or raise it between high ground positions for allies to be able to jump between them, but the added utility is very worth it. Still wish I could destroy it manually without also wasting my next platform though.
For Juno, I'd much rather they just nerf the healing rate than nerf the fire-rate... her gun felt really cool and alien with how fast it fired, now it sounds more like just a regular gun.

I have to agree with the kiriko "buff" being bad.
I would've much rather the body dmg still be the 45, and the critical mod go back up to x3 to make it feel better to hit those shots.
Love how characters like Ana gets a skin and a mythic weapon skin and tons of skins since ow2 as well as genji mercy and kirk but some heroes have nearly gotten 1 if not a single skin since the release of the new game. So frustrating. Don't main them but would be cool to see some redesign of character models other than the same 9 characters.

Mercy buffs dont impress me honestly. Keep the healing buff, remove the damage boost buff, and remove the health nerf. Alternatively, replace the damage boost buff with mobility cooldown decreases. Low healing and the clunky feeling mobility was her biggest issues, NOT damage boost.
Better yet… just remove mercy from the game. Can’t wait for this season of boosted mercy bots sitting around the corner giving extra dmg boost for their Smurf booster

As a hanzo main, i actually like the hanzo nerf. Im for sure noticing that the better player wins the 1v1 now, having less health makes it feel like I can actually die, whereas before it kinda felt like if I was being healed I was basically just a tank. Also hanzo went from being able to one shot 3 heroes to 11 so overrall a buff.
Oh so sombra gets compensation buffs for being 225 hp but hanzo doesn’t? Cool……..very competent and smart balance team….

Well he got an indirect buff, he one shots her now and a few more heroes. I'd have to test if its worth though, I don't think he should be 225 cause he's not that mobile
