- Hey, friends! Here’s my variation of the classic jazz song, “Angel Eyes.” I’ve finally got a full song for you all! I’m so excited for reaching 9000+ friends! I’m gonna post some more full songs pretty soon so stay tuned!
This song is played with my 1934 Olds “Standard”. That’s correct 1934!!!!! If you can imagine an old car from 1934 with all the bells and whistles of the day, heavy and noisy with tinks, clicks pings and squeaks. That’s this trumpet if it were a car. It’s got power but not easy to control, speed with old school brakes. It’s not as efficient as the new horns of today, but let me tell you it’s dark and smoky feels like a Cadillac!

I’m very glad to play these tunes for you! And never stop playing! I stopped playing for 6-7 years and never thought I’d play anymore then started playing again a couple years ago! I’m so glad people are listening to jazz these days! Once upon a time, jazz was cool for all ages and places. It was common to be anywhere and hear jazz through the speakers or bars, clubs restaurants. It’s been slowly lost in time and as the evolution of music has progressed, jazz is holding on by a thread! It’s so cool how today’s generation is creating these super cool mixtapes and beats but incorporating jazz instrument samples! These people have unbelievable talent and are the future of jazz!

Hey bro exactly! These are the jo ral mutes. But lately I’ve been playing the Soulo mutes in the recent clips. I’ve really grown on the soulo mutes because of their versatility and for for all horns vintage and new! Cheers bro!

Great playing man! I am hooked to your videos. But I was wondering if you could film some videos without mute. I don't know maybe you use mute most of the time to not disturb your neighbors or you like it that way more. I recently started to dig trumpet stuff and you seem to be a great example. Since I recently started to get interested in trumpet I don't know much about different styles or techniques. At the end of the day, it's still your preference. Looking forward to hear more of your music.

Hey so I learned the fundamentals in middle and high school but never really learned to read correctly. However I developed an ear in high school and faked reading all through high school 😂. I’m hoping someday to learn to read the right way!
After high school I played in a Latin rock/salsa band for a few years then moved to a different state and quit for about 7years. Just started playing again a couple years ago and it took a few months to get some of my chops back!

Intonation with soundtrack is a miss.
Miss 1934 that is. This horn is an antique and very difficult to play. I love feel and flexibility of the sound, however it’s not as efficient as today’s horns. It’s got some air leaks here’s and there causing it to lose some compression. Tone gets a little funny sometimes 😂
