9:16 Love how they captured the full aspect of the double steal in real time with the camerawork! Give that crew a raise!
9:16 I love this insightful view of the game
LOL I literally just made this joke before I saw your comment! :)
They literally showed it 20 seconds after
3:51 i love hearing the umpire make the call and then the crowd erupts
All the pressure is on the umpire 3:51
El Mago
that's Wrigley for you
8:14 A rare double-correct call by Angel Hernandez.
0:34 The crowd gave it away and kind of helped the pitcher but it didn’t matter
I remember the first time I saw someone steal home. Jacoby Ellsbury 2009 against the Yankees. I had only been really watching baseball for maybe 2 years at that point, I always thought it was boring, but that will go down as a core memory for me
1st clip Kirk Gibson called it. Not a fan of his complete calmness all the time but he knows his baseball.
The most exaiting play in Baseball⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾😃😃😃😃
Thanks you scot⚾⚾⚾👍👍
Exciting
Who else thinks if the crowd was silent these would be a lot easier
Tate Wendel I have though that for forever exactly my thoughts
Oak Valley Wiffleball well this comment is funny now as there are no fans anymore
I don’t think it’s really debatable
😂😂😂😂😂😂 why are 10k+ people making noise
An Official MLB Channel should Have a lot more than 1 million
They'll grow fast
Give it time, they have books of data to draw from.
Not everyone likes baseball that’s why people like soccer and they joined in 2005
DAVID VELAZQUEZ soccer isn’t the only sport people pay attention to you but i agree that people watch other sports then baseball
Yes you are right
5:07, that man looks so happy to be there

Ty Cobb stole home frequently.
He was respectfully out

I got the nofictation and now I know there bout to be javiar baez.
Whose was the best??
3:48
Javier baez
Elvis Andrus
Roogie
Where are the steals of ellsbury, he did it twice, both of them pure steal of home, and with two different teams!
3:56 javi slapping willson in the face. I miss these days so much
It's a fun play when you can pull it off...... I'm now old and can't imagine running - but i had wheels once..........
I honestly think @7:00 hes out, he touches the catcher before he touches the base. His hand glides his foot before he touches home plate
stealing home is really hard to do
Probably one of the hardest things to do in baseball
0:34 crazy steal
4:52 Why didn't he just focus on getting the runner on 1st out instead of worrying about home when that run wouldn't have mattered.
Look at everything as though for the first time youre looking at the world, that observation is to watch oneself never allowing a single thought to escape without watching it. Observing has no time, the other is caught in time, thought creates the time.
The most gratifying play in the sport
Why would you include umpire reviews in a highlight vid?
If I were in MLB, I would believe that the best player to try stealing home against would be Jon Lester (or Betances)
I love baseball
- Search on Google: "Javier Baez"
- Google: "Did you mean 'savage'?"
Carlos Diaz he’s so overrated
@@not1uk3 Cap
More like "Did you mean strikeouts and errors"
@@blakecharles4501 I didn't know you could steal home if you strike out... Anyways, I was talking about THIS video.
3:13 What kind of view is that?!
😋

1:08 Had that not been a wild pitch he would have been tagged out by like three seconds. That guy is as fast as a snail in january.
It's a veritable who's who of catchers that weren't paying attention in little league when they told them not to throw a pick-off to 2nd when runners are on 1st and 3rd.
That play at home tho when Javier Baez stole home DAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I always made sure my 2nd baseman knew that with runner one first and third, if the runner steals second to forget the runner and move up behind the pitchers mound and have the pitcher cover behind me if he was quick enough to think of it. If the third base runner breaks its an easy out at home, if he hesitates, you throw to your third baseman.
Im sorry im new to baseball what it that mitt for that the baserunners use?
Its to protect there hands from cleats stepping on them and to help keep their wrist aligned
Back when the Jays were a powerhouse of a team
Hold up, Jay Bilas is a baseball commentator too???
i was at the Detroit v Cleveland game and i left a inning before he stole home. im still mad to this day
The Yankees pitcher at 3:17 was facing 3rd base. How did he not see the runner?
Betances started his motion looking at the ground instead of at 3rd. Common mistake.
4:59 Dude… that guy looks so poor😢
4:05 my fav
Jackie Robinson Originated It.
Not even close to the truth.
Ty Cobb did it 54 times, Max Carey 33. After Babe Ruth popularizedswinging for the fences, base stealing attempts dropped tremendously.
Jackie was a factor in stealing making a comeback in the late Forties and Fifties, before but that's it.
Odor dusted the plate off with his beard as he dove in.
Way to show the umpire dancing on the Maybin steal.
Already knew Baez
I think mustache make a kind of a power for homestealing.
Newbie here, you can steal a base before the pitch is even thrown?????
Stealing home is embarrassing
Every Comentator "You don't see that a lot" MLB "11 mins worth of footage
What if the tag happens at virtually the same time as the runner makes contact with the bag, what do they do? The cameras don't have a high enough framerate to really see, sometimes it really looks simultaneous. Do the umpires just pick one and that's that?
If it's too close to call in the replay then the original call stands. There's definitely been cases of virtual ties that you'd need an electron microscope to call correctly. At that point it's just luck as to whatever the umpire feels was the right call in the moment. There's a myth you hear a lot in youth ball that "a tie goes to the runner" but there's nothing like that in the rulebook and umpires aren't taught to think that way.
Just my opinion, but these videos would be better if you mixed in some where they were out too.
Those umps were wandering who's paying tonight
Thanks👍👍👍& lets go Mets⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾
I was at the rangers game

I LOVE YOU MLB
What's the deal with all of these Blue Jays stealing home?
What a lot of people don't realize is that Sale is throwing up the line trying to drill Gurriel at 1:08
@@vincerogers2310 how do u know that
Anyone who says baseball is boring has no patience or intelligence
Baseball Is v3ry boring, bate to break it to ya
Lol 180,000 and 2.4k like amazing
wow Martin !
Great vid
Is there any Stealing Home Plate successes that seals the win for a team?
According to “Stolen Victories” by J. Larson, a home plate steal ending the game has happened 35 times, but only two happened after 1980. As for other steals that “sealed the win” in some other way, I have no idea.
The fact that any of these are in the late innings is crazy. If I were a manager and my player did this that late and didn’t make it they wouldn’t be playing for a few days.
3:11 but flashes
I stole home in the '98 world series giving my melonheads the narrow victory over the wombats 6-5
Oh god edit out all the damn waiting for a replay call.
Double steal doesn't count as 'stealing home'. Straight up from 3rd!
Everyone go vote for Tommy La Stella for all star second baseman!!
Texas!!!
Yee haw
Stealing home against a righty, what a freakin baller

Is 5 million a good enough number?
That Is Not's In Time!
Can you edit out the reviews? They're bad enough in normal play let alone in highlight videos

Why would you include like three whole minutes of an unsuccessful challenge

Why show the reviews? We know they’re safe or they wouldn’t be on the list. Waste of time repeating an already awful part of the game.

2026 anyone?
these catchers are so bad at applying the tag jesus, tag the closest thing to you, not the torso. throw comes in 10 min early and the catchers get juked by a reach-around slide
The torso is the easiest thing to tag cause it is pretty big and it doesn't really move. The arms, legs, head, all have the ability to be moved by a sliding person and are much smaller targets. It is highly unlikly you are gonna be able to tag an arm or a leg.
The problem isn't the execution by the Catcher, it's the fact that they can no longer block the plate properly cause of what happened to Posey a few years ago.
4:51 he was out
keep watching
Stephen J -_- did you continue to watch?
