So why did you disconnect the wiring in the engine bay if you just disconnected all the bullet connections after removing the dash? Could you have pulled the engine bay wires through the firewall with all the wiring harness connected?
I did that so I could pull the wires from the engine bay back through the firewall, and they would stay with the dash when I pulled it. I just coil them all together under the dash when I'm ready to pull it so they're not in the way. If you're just rewiring the engine bay (where the wires tend to be crispier,) some vendors have a kit for just that section. In my case, the insulation was hard and cracked, and there were bare wires in the dash itself. When I saw what was in there, I was so glad I had gone to the trouble to do the whole thing.
