Was definitely looking into NICU nursing as the next step in my nursing career. My back is giving out from moving these adult patients and I would really love to be with babies for 36 hours a week!!
Congrats!! How did you land the job? What area of the country are you in if you don’t mind sharing. I’m getting my associates and thought that NICUs really preferred BSN!
All nurses are amazing. But NICU nurses are beyond amazing. What you do is extremely difficult. Everything you do has to be so precise. There can be no mistakes. I just want you to know that you are loved and so much appreciated.
I want to be a NICU nurse because I live babies. The problem is you have to be very detailed and careful because if you aren’t then the baby could die, and I don’t want that to happen. That’s what is really stopping me from becoming a NICU nurse.
I’ve followed since you were in nursing school and now I’m graduating with my RN in December! I’m applying for the NICU and can’t wait to take care of the babies.
I’ve been following you since I started nursing school and I’m a new graduate who got a job in the NICU! The one I work is a combination of 2/3 and right now I’m on the 2 side since I’m still in orientation and I’ll be leaving for maternity leave soon. We have not had a lot of sick NICU babies so my manager wanted me comfortable where I was before I’m gone for months having to learn stuff all over. But so far I’ve enjoyed both sides and seeing these babies get healthier while we care for them. Im not looking forward to my first loss/etc with these babies but Im grateful to be where I am. Thank you for keeping me motivated in school!! ❤️
I did some random shifts on Nicu for being pulled out due to understaffing and was recommended by some doctors and supervisors to be permenant in that area. But i just cant handle pressure. The minuscule detail you have to pay attention is way out of my league.. so i salute to all the Nicu Nurses out there just like you!
I’m in high school now so not even in nursing school yet but I know I want to work with babies either in l&d, postpartum, or NICU. Your videos are really helpful! I was wondering why you chose NICU and what your favorite part is? How do you cope with death and is it a generally sad floor or happy? My last question is how and when did you decide you wanted to do NICU? How did you know is was right for you? You’re awesome! You save lives every day💕 Thank you so much for your content!
i have 2 semesters left of nursing school & after my first clinical rotation in the NICU, i fell in love with it!! 😩 definitely is my #1 right now, i can so see myself being a NICU nurse. 🥹💓 love that i found your channel! 🥰
my grandma is a nurse and i want to keep her legacy alive and i really love helping people. i think i know how to get the job done, i would love to help children , i'd probably do different fields of nursing, but i feel that this would work the best for me.
I just accidentally got a job in the NICU 😂 in a women’s and infants float pool. OB is my niche and NICU is one of the places I sworn I’d never go, and yet, here I am. I’m very scared about it, but should be getting only level 2 babies as floater. It is a level 3 NICU though.
Oh my gosh this is crazy. I've been subbed to your channel for ages and have always been interested in becoming a NICU nurse so it's insane you're now in the job! Can't wait for more content like this. You are amazing ❤
I have always wanted to work in the NICU since I was 11, I am currently in my 3rd semester of nursing school and I am just waiting for the applications for the new grad cohort for may/june to come out and apply. I am currently work as a tech on an observation floor but at this hospital they have a level three NICU so I am hoping already being an employee will boost me. I will definitely look into getting those other certifications to see if maybe that will help as well.
I'm 18yr old .Ya i can care for sick babies because by god's grace he gave me such opportunities and chance to handle paralysed puppies , birds in really horrible conditions like for 6-7 years in my home country .. so i got used to deadth sadness the whole process 😢❤.. I wish i get into nicu my dream job...
Starting nursing school in a month, my first option is to work more in the dermatology unit and potentially become an aesthetic nurse and later a FNP but idk why the NICU is becoming very interesting atm. I'm starting to think it's because me and my twin sister were born prematurely (six months) so we stayed for about a month in the NICU. Lol I guess I'd have to start school and then see where I end up :)
Now I know why you left Florida and went to Texas to pursue NICU. I did a travel assignment in Fl and I will not be moving there anymore lol. Btw I started crying when you said that's literally a whole pregnancy as a NICU nurse lol. LOVE YOU NURSE NOOK =] GREAT CONTENT.
If you guys are a pre-nursing student who would like experience in mother baby(well baby) & NICU, I’m a newborn hearing screener who works in mother baby & NICU. You really just need ur BLS/CPR FIRST AID and some type of experience in the medical field or with kids! I have both with nannying & emt and cna school. Like going to school for nursing or cna or emt or pre nursing & nursing school. Anything with a passion for the medical field. You do have to be vaccinated & all your vaccines up to date also! I love this job. It’s a hate and love type of job but it’s so worth it for experience as a student before being an actual nursing student!! We carry babies & screen their hearing. Days can get overwhelming but it’s sooo worth it in the end! I wanted to be an aesthetic or plastics nurse and honestly I am loving the NICU! I’m learning sooo much in both NICU and Mother-baby
Hey 👋🏾! ❤️ this a future nurse in the making and have loved your videos for awhile now . Currently studying and this video popped up. I’ll be in the labor n delivery class next term. Just showing some ❤️✨

I wanted to do the cuddling program at one of our local hospitals. I talked with the guy who runs the program once and haven’t heard from him again. I’m assuming that because of Covid that they aren’t doing baby cuddling right now which I totally understand. But it makes me sad because I was really wanting to do that.
my dream swere to become a NICU nurse. i then got pregnant in highschool with my first child kept trying to go back to school and failed. just had my second. Itll always be a dream though
In a level 4 NICU right now from adult ICU, my unit is a lot of feeder growers every 2-4hrs. I am bored out of my mind. They will not let new to nicu into higher acuity until 6-8 months. Unsure if I should stay.
Hi so i’m wondering if anyone can help, if im working as a nicu nurse will i still have time for my own kids or will i be swamped with work. I just want to be able to still have a healthy relationship with family outside of work.
Thank you! I'm in my first block of school but I am really thinking of working in the ER for a year an then in the NICU. Idk if I could handle level 3 or 4 though. How do nurses deal with baby fatalities especially if they are very nurturing loving women who have had and love their own kids? I don't know if I could handle loosing babies. I would want the opportunity to help heal them but I don't know if I could handle the loses.
Clicking this video hoping that I pass all the points you talk about bc I’m so interested in NICU. 😆 Ok time to watch and find out Ah ok I’m good with all the points you made. I wonder what I’ll end up loving. Right now definitely more interested and curious about the NICU but I may be interested in OB. We’ll see how my OB rotations go next month! Thanks for the video and tips!

i’m not sure how much you know about this but if you have any tips i’d really appreciate it! i just got hired as an EMT on an EMS NICU unit and honestly don’t know much about it. i want to make sure i’m 100% prepared when i start
I’m an er nurse. I just took a job at a level 3 nicu. I wanted something new. Hi all! I hope someone can help me get an answer to this question: Can I work in the Nicu if I have just an associates degree in nursing? I’m getting ready to go to school for Nursing🙂 Thanks!
Yes you absolutely can! Search for new grad residency programs in your area, I applied for one in my area and I am accepting a position in the NICU as a new grad with just my ADN (working for my BSN)!
