That awesome! I'm currently in an ADN program but it took me FOREVER to get here because I didn't inform myself and just relied on my counselor to guide me. So don't be like me. Understand exactly what classes you need, GPA, entrance exam, literally everything! Have a solid plan so you don't waste time. And once you're in nursing school give it your all from the beginning because you're only going through it once, so take full advantage! ☺️ GOODLUCK! 💕
I’m a senior in high school this year. I’m the oldest sibling in my family, so I’ve always taken care of the younger kids. I’ve wanted to be a NICU RN because of my love and passion for helping kids. Thank you for making this video, so much information and a good heads up for what to expect!
I am the oldest too! So I know exactly what it’s like to take care of kids growing up. It’s such a wonderful field to be in and glad you have the passion for it. Good luck! 😊👍🏻
God bless you for working nights! I did for 6 years. Been on day shift ever since. NICU nursing has changed a lot since I started as a new grad in 1981. We didn’t even have pulse ox monitors! I love the babies I care for & have loved my work as I near retirement.
I am very glad I found your channel. I am a sophomore in High School and currently I'm really stressed and scared. I hope and pray I can become a NICU nurse ❤️
I was a NICU mommy with our little daughter for 40’days in 2020. Her NICU nurses were our only contact while we were in the unit (no other visitors because of covid). I couldn’t ever thank them enough for not only the medical support for our baby but the emotional support they gave us. You all are God’s hands at work on earth.
Hi! I am a senior ( sadly my sister passed away in the nicu a few years, always felt inspired to be a nicu nurse sense then) . I am currently applying to BSN programs in southern California!
I'm not a nurse myself however, I've been cared for by several extremely talented, empathetic, committed and supportive not only RN's,ARNPS but also the occasional LPN or two as well. I have an extremely high level of respect and honor.
thank you so much for everything you do for these sweet angels! this Thursday my preemie (29 weekers) twins will be a year old! i am forever grateful for all that their NICU nurses did for them in the 40 days that they were there! having a preemie (or two in my case) that have to stay in the NICU is beyond scary but it really puts you at ease when the nurses love the babies and care for them like their own 🥰
Congratulations to your twins!! Happy early birthday to them. I know how hard it can be having a child in the NICU. But I also love being able to connect and get close with families too. I definitely love my job so much and love taking care of the little ones 😊💗
I really appreciate how in depth you explained everything including showing actual footage of the department and assessments bc as a nursing student that is what I've been looking and searching for so I can decide on a specialty
Tay Tay that is amazing! I’m glad you have a passion and chasing after that! Hopefully one day you will be a nicu nurse! Good luck 👍🏻 and thank you. I’m glad you enjoy my videos 💗
Thank you for all the ideas! I will definitely consider doing more nicu specific videos in the future. And good luck to you on your nursing school journey!! 😊💗
My son was born one month early if i had seen these videos then i would know hes in good hands and not have worried so much thank you guys for all you do 😊
I actually was born a premature baby,I was born like i think 5-6months early I was told I was at least 1pound or as my family and parents say I weighed like the size of a can of beans, and my brothers son (my nephew) was premature but he didn’t make it,and so to me this definitely hits home and means a lot to me I’m already interested in the field of nursing and I was interested in L&D nursing or PEDs nursing, but just found out what this was actually called, because this was honestly my reasoning of wanting to be a nurse in the first place, and working with infants and kids because I’ve been through that and it means a lot to me to see infants make it through and fight for there life. I see a lot of mothers who’ve been through it in the comments & irl and other people who are interested in this field, but me I feel very different about it because not only have I been through it and almost didn’t make it myself but the chance to even help a baby, a child the best way that I can,I just get a comfort from that, knowing that I did my best to support them, help them and I think people who are born premature are the strongest people on earth…tbh because they come out the womb a literal fighter ❤
I wish I found this sooner. My son was born at 30 weeks 5 days weighting 2lbs 8.5 oz. By emergency c seaction. As a NICU parent. Thank you for all you do for our babies. Its highly appericated.
So, from the time of this comment, you should have graduated. Are you still considering nursing? For me, I start my second year of college and begin the nursing program this Fall:)
I'm an ICN nurse at a level 2 hospital in my area. During orientation I was chill but I'm off orientation for three weeks now and I'm finding myself more nervous than before. A lot of that nervousness is coming from me not feeling totally prepared because I don't know everything yet. I'm still learning as I go. Nursery nurses attend all deliveries at this hospital and during labor I get so anxious if the baby is in distress. Lord. It's a slow process but every shift I work I learn something new. What I find is hard for me now is the APGAR scoring at 1 & 5 mins & training my mind to be automatic in an emergency. Sometimes a baby's cry will sound weaker than others and the more deliveries I attend the easier it is to tell but I still second guess myself on the scoring and I need to be straight in what it is I'm seeing. As for emergencies it takes my mind a minute to process what's happening and a minute is too much time wasted 😩 I just want to be better!
What you are feeling is very normal and the only way to get better is with time and more exposure. It took me at least 1 year to feel comfortable just handling my own patient assignments and so I totally understand the feeling of wanting to be better and know what you’re doing. But trust the process and continue to take every day as a learning opportunity. You got this 🙌🏼
Just found your channel! I’m a nursing student, super interested in pediatrics and labor and delivery and want to do travel nursing . Love your content and your hard work💜
I just graduated from nursing school. My ER nurse residency got postponed/canceled for the summer so while waiting for a fall start date I am doing pediatric home health as a nurse and my ER is letting me continue as PRN as an ER tech!
My son was in the NICU for 92 days born at 27 weeks. I’m currently in school to be a Nurse and I want to be a NICU nurse so badly you guys inspired me so much ❤️❤️
I’m 1st hear nursing student, IM GOING THROUGH IT. I have as depression, anxiety and it’s getting really hard to stay motivated. Im watching this video to keep me on track, remind me why I’m doing this!
You need to push through the tough stuff to reap the rewards! I had a nursing professor many years ago that said, “If we were perfect we’d be in heaven!”
High School Graduate Going to college in the fall here. This really helped me understand a bit more about the job of an NICU nurse, and I am quite interested in becoming one myself. Thank you for giving me the insight 😁💕
I’m a nursing student currently exploring my options, I thought I loved icu but currently loving maternal-child nursing, and I think NICU may be on my radar!
I am currently a medical/cardiac RN studying to be a midwife. But i start my dream position as a NICU RN in the same hospital and NICU that my brother, sister and I (triplets) spent months in when we were born at the end of the month! I am beyond grateful and excited!
Thank you for sharing this. I just found your channel. I’m aspiring to become a NICU nurse. I was in physical therapy and changed my major over to nursing. Nursing seems to be my calling. I graduate next month and have been praying I get a nicu residency. Your video was very helpful because in peds we couldn’t shadow a nicu nurse or even go in because of covid.
im 15, my goal in life is becoming a neonatal nurse. im already certified in CPR and in the medical program at school. Really can't wait to be in the medical field
This was a great video. I’m a nursing student wanting to be a NICU nurse and we don’t do rotations with NICU so I really wanted to see what it was like!
I am a new grad starting in the NICU soon, and listening to what you do made me more excited and have a better understanding of what is in store! Thank you for sharing!!
I think this was the most informative one I watched and I really liked it! My ultimate goal in Nursing is to become an Nicu nurse, so I really really liked this Vlog I see that it’s two years. Going to check and see if you’re still making them.
So tiny and precious :( ♥ it was an interesting video and very informative. I don't think I could handle it though if the little one didn't make it. I'd cry all night/day.
This video really helped and you are a good NICU nurse. My son is currently in the NICU and we have been having many issues since he is about to be discharged
So glad I seen this channel. I am a sophomore in college and just passed my teas and had my interview with the nursing directors and I’m currently waiting if I got in. I’m very interested in becoming a NICU nurse :)
Love Ur video very formal thank u! I'm going to be a neonatal nurse as well have currently just got a place in college and will go onto uni to study child's nursing then specialise into neonatal nursing! Please can you do a video on your journey to becoming a NICU nurse, like did u go to uni? What A Levels you took? Were you a nurse before hand? This would be so helpful for those who want to do the job you do! That's only if you have time, u must be really busy. Your such an amazing person ♥️♥️
i’m currently in my 2nd semester of nursing school it’s so tough😫 but watching your video is really motivating! helps me get an idea of what i wanna do haha
Very hard to get out of “the med surge vortex!” I was lucky to get hired into a NICU training program as a new grad. Blessings to all the med surg nurses❣️
Hi Tiffany, I found your channel from your comment on Miki Rai's channel. I find nursing content fascinating. I enjoyed watching this video where you take us along with you to work. You produce interesting content, which is why I subscribed. Nurses are my favorite people.
Hi, Nurse Tiffany! We will be having our first clinical duties next week and we're assigned in NICU that's why I'm here getting some info. and ideas what's going on inside the NICU. May our first and next clinical duties will went smoothly and full of knowledge. 🤍🤞
I’m a third semester student right now! I want to work in NICU or Peds so bad! But I’ll also take L&D if I have to. I had my first OB clinicals today and it totally solidified that I want to work with babies 😍 what’s your favorite thing about your job and do you love it? Any advice for new grads? I’m sooooo nervous
Congrats to you starting your nursing journey! I did my maternity rotation and had only 2 days in NICU and it changed my life. I enjoyed working with babies that I knew that’s exactly what I wanted to specialize in. Check out my Instagram @nicunursetiff and I post a lot of advice and tips that can hopefully help you in your new grad journey into NICU. Good luck!! 😊💗
Hello Tiffany! I will be starting the nursing program in the fall and I’m so ready! My passion is NICU and I watch these type of videos on a daily basis. Looking forward to more helpful videos!
So I am 16 and I am so obsessed with being a neonatologist and the reason y I want to be one is because I love kids almost every kid I know was practically raised by me from. A baby to a toddler so that inspired me more and I know a lot about pregnancy so I think I am good for this career
Currently in nursing school and so so excited for the day I get to do what you are doing ! Thank you so much for this informative video and for all you do !:)
Nursing runs in my family. And I always want to go into nursing especially with babies. My fiancé will help me get through nursing school so I can get going on that. He is in the army still deployed so he wants to make sure I am ok before he gets deployed again.
Great video Tiffany! Im a nursing student in Canada and I currently am taking speciality courses in order to become a NICU nurse here :) where did you get your grey sweater from? It's sooooo cute!
Thank you for this video! It’s amazing! I’ve heard about different levels in the NICU, and I was just wondering if each level has a different pay. I’m also wondering if the NICU nurses can work at the different levels whenever they are needed, or if they typically stay at the same level. Thank you and I love your content! Keep it up!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Allison Postema nope different level just means different kinds of patients. Higher levels like level 3 and 4 tend to take on more sicker kids. And if you want more critical care then I would stick to the higher levels. Level 1-2 tend to be nursery type babies that are stable and feeder growers. Every hospital is assigned a level depending on the acuity and so if you want lower or higher levels then you need to go to a different hospital
i’m currently a HS senior who wants to go into NICU nursing and this was so insightful ty!
I am so glad this was helpful! And hope you get the opportunity to do nicu 😊💕

Is being a nicu nurse really hard emotionally considering the fact that some babies dont make it? Also how do you deal with that pain?
I’m only in the 8th grade and I’ve been wanting to be a nurse forever and I have been very passionate about being a nurse
That’s so amazing! Good luck to you 🥰👍🏻
Much love for our NICU nurses. I work in high risk mother baby and we get to know our nicu team well. Who knows, maybe that's where I'll end up next!

Sarah Piva wow congrats! How exciting!! I got my sweater on Etsy 😊
