great vid. im from South Wales UK. i was on the that trip in 2007 from Swansea to London with 5051 Earl Bathurst. was an amazing trip even thought she ran out of steam just out side bristol so had to sit for about 20 mins before we got going again lol
Would be great to see a Y6b being rebuilt, but seeing what the restoration of the PRR K4 already costs I don't want to think how much is needed for this.
(27 Nov, 2019) Great job with this video. You and Chris Kovacs did extremely well with the collaboration. Hats off to both of you. Best regards, Franz Ferdinand VIII

9:02, the gwr had proposed a 4-6-2 design by Frederick Hawksworth (Charles Collett’s successor) that was based after the kings, the great bear, and the lms princess royals (it should be noted that William Stanier and Frederick hawksworth were apprenticed contemptuously at Swenson before Stanier was hired by the lms in the 30s and may have been friends), but the proposed design was dropped. However, a railworks train simulator content website called Caledonia works made a model of this proposed gwr pacific, called cathedrals, as a what could have been had the gwr went with it.
i think building a new Y6B is a wonderful idea! all these new steam engines are wonderful! and one day i hope we can see a rebuild of 2174. oh and the PRR T1 isn't going to make it
Did I hear you mention the Torbay Express? I’m the lucky cock who owns the headboards for the excursions (I don’t own the rectangular green headboard though.)
To pronounce Iaeger it's Lay-gah. When I got the Pocahontas Glory Volume 6 DVD the Narrator said laeger like this: Lay-gah. I'm not saying it's wrong its just how I pronounce it and possibly how the locals in Iaeger pronounce it. But every pronunciation in America is up for debate.
1218 and 750 are my favorite Retired Steam Stars

My personal favorite retired steam excursion locomotives are PRR 7002 & 1223.
You got some great picks my friend
It's really depressing to see these excursion locomotives scrapped
Mr Crocker LOL

Something tells me that, if Project 2174 happens, the Virginia Museum of Transportation will offer their support, being located at Roanoke and all.
It would be cool if they tracked down were the parts of 2174 went and using as many as the could track down.
@@TheAtlantaRailfan there are most likely no parts to 2174 she has been gonna for maybe years and any of her parts are probably gone

Wait, the T1 morons are dead in the water?
Tedthetrain productions I'm all for the t1
Jim van der Kolk But they just finished the nose.
I think the T1 is goanna be made because they found a original T1 tender and the made some of the wheels, nose, and even the cab!
What is the name of the song that plays during number 10?
Thaxted, specifically the Kevin Macleod version.
Steam trains rule
Nice colab
craziest BR come back for a steam engine
newstead
I would rather rebuilt a y6b than a PRR T1!!!
How did the 3985 cause grass fires when it was coal fired?
Bradford Whitney Hot cinders.
Some of them shot out of the firebox which set the grass on fire
Talk about spontaneous combustion
The music makes it sadder
The scrap yard that 5051 was in is nicknamed Barry scrapyard
5:40 is there actually plans for there to be a replica of a y6b in the future?
Yes, & it won't take long. They're putting the donations in a savings account w/compound interest!
Jim i know 3985 is your faviorite steam locomotive but why did you put 3967 on this list at the end instead of the top 5 or 3 just asking that's all
What's the music??
Here's a tip for the T1 trust...
DON'T BREAK MALLERDS DOES RECORD!!!!!!!
here's something to remember: Mallard won't have the spotlight forever.
ITMCBHPBGF. Yep
Yep
And one day (possibly) it will probibly, sadly, be scrapped

the y6b's are not over. The 2156 is the last y6b not the 2174. It could run again but the 2174 isn't the last y6b.
Wrong. The Y6bs were numbered 2171 through 2200, and 2156 is a Y6a. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norfolk_and_Western_2156
