Hi, we were fortunate enough to have a conservatory suite on Iona last year. The priority book in and reception was fantastic and we really enjoyed the in-suite perks too. Definitely for those extra-special occasions for us (our 30th wedding anniversary).
Great overview Steph - I've often wondered how the suite class works with P&O, so this has satisfied my curiosity! Love the complimentary drinks at embarkation lunch - how long can someone drag that lunch out for?! Ha!
If you really wanted to get the most out of that welcome on board lunch, you could aim to get on as early as possible and then stay until 3pm. I've heard some people do that. Not me of course 😇
@@wildyone172 that sucks. I suppose you didn’t get the invitation card at check in either. We were the same when we sailed the first time in a suite on Ventura - we just went straight up to our cabin and no one told us about the welcome on board lunch.
It’s interesting isn’t it - we had canapés every night on Arvia at Christmas /NewYear but only on gala and celebration nights on Britannia in May. There’s doesn’t seem to be consistency across the fleet.
@@CruiseWithAmber We had a suite on Azura in January 23 and only had canapés on embarkation night and the first gala night. The boxed gift set of toiletries had gone altogether the Champagne had turned into cheap Spanish wine and the box of chocolates was a bar of chocolate. There were no fresh flowers either..I made a very strong complaint in writing to the Captain advising that what I had been given was not what I had paid for at the time of booking while still on the ship. The daily canapés were reinstated and all the other missing items replaced. I know that P and O have now changed their written information online and in their Brochures to the reduced benefits.
Currently onboard Adriatic suite on Iona, no daily canopes, food delivery in room services occurs a delivery charge and if you have purchased a sail away fare, not select, you have to pay extra for buses to city centre. Also no refreshments on arrival at Southampton port. Not really sure what perks you get bar a lighter wallet.
Thanks for the info and updates! Oh my gosh - they have really cut back on perks since we sailed in 2023. I can understand the saver far as this applies to all grades of cabin and was never a perk for suites. But the new delivery charge for room service food? - this is so disheartening to hear. Do you still get breakfast in the epicurean?
@@CruiseWithAmber The P&O website still shows room service is included so I’m not sure what Ian means. We have booked a saver fare for a suite too so will report back, but we’ve been told there are zero differences between saver and select when onboard in terms of perks
Do you know if the aft suite balconies on deck 15 Iona/Arvia are slightly smaller than the other aft suite balconies?I do realise there is an over hang and public deck above. We had an aft suite on Iona last year and it was fantastic, we have a deck 15 (15 and 9 were all yhat was left) one booked for Arvia in 2025.
The deck 15 Balcony is very much the same size - but you might find that the side part when the balcony wraps around the port or aft sides of the ship can be a bit narrower.
@@CruiseWithAmber Thanks for your answer, that's great. So plenty of space for the table and chairs/sunbeds)recliner chairs which is the important thing👍
@@danielmorris1527 oh yes - plenty of space - have a look at the one we stayed in on deck 14 which isn't much different ruclips.net/video/BgZmen344NQ/видео.html
Yes it does it’s deck 17 at the aft in the epicurean. We stayed in a suite on Ventura and had breakfast there each morning. It’s not as extensive as the one on Arvia or Iona but still lovely. I’ve got a video coming up shortly on it.
These are the full B grade suite benefits - the Conservatory Mini suites get most of these benefits without the butler and breakfast in the Epicurean. There is no whirlpool bath in the Conservatory mini suites. P&O cruises now have the welcome on board lunch and priority boarding for conservatory mini suite guests too. take a look at my conservatory min suite tour for more info on what you can find in your suite. ruclips.net/video/E8HhBuZDTFU/видео.html
We were amazed to have priority boarding and reception buffet which was truly delicious, which included some lovely wines if you like a glass. The Champagne & chocolates were waiting for us in our suite (not chilled!) as well as a massive bowl of fruit. We had canapes on the celebration night only. The conservatory was fantastic and we used ours every day. Have a great cruise on this lovely ship.
Yes, absolutely - it's one of the perks and you don't have to pay for the delivery charge either if you are in a suite - speak with your butler when you embark and organise the best day for your to have a leisurely breakfast in your suite (we chose Lisbon to have it served on our balcony on our cruise because of the iconic sail in.
The buffet selection at breakfast has been diminished... Nuts and some other items have vanished. I do hope P & O will restore everything they have taken away...
We had an suite on Azura…no hot meals except room service were available….long long story short …finally after getting home we got to the bottom of it all …lack of staff…only two butlers….so they can withdraw this perk…with lots of lies … claiming it was only room service same as other cabins we would get….
Oh no I’m so sorry you had that experience in a suite. We’ve sailed in an aft suite on Ventura and I do t think the experience was the same as that on the newer ships. Our Butler on Arvia was so much more attentive than that on Ventura. I think there needs to be more consistency across the fleet.
Worth the extra and once you've had a suite you'll want one everytime!
So true!!!

Well they never bothered to tell us. Butler useless and never even told us. So we got there at 2.45..15 mins before it shut. Rubbish.

booked E732 on Azura - will let you know - many thanks
I love those suite at the aft!!
I have this suite booked this december for canaries cruise 😅
@@piperhound have an AMAZING time!!!
I am sailing on Arcadia next April, I am very tempted to upgrade from my Balcony cabin.
The wraparound balconies on the suites at the back of the ship are gorgeous on Arcadia
I enjoyed our suite on Britannia but canapé s only on formal evenings 😮😊
Sadly they have changed this recently and I think it is such as shame. We had them every night on Arvia - but this completely changes on Britannia.
I think that canapés are now only available at embarkation night and Gala nights now.

Unfortunately not. P&O definitely need to up their game with the suite perks.

Thank you for this video. Is room service available on cruises if you stay in a suite (particularly interested for breakfast)

How old is the Britannia?
She’s coming up to her 10th birthday next year and there’s a special anniversary sailing too

yes there are lots of little things which have silently disappeared which I miss.
Does p&o suites have a fridge or minibar? If they are minibars are they free of charge? Edit: I will be on Azura
P&O suites only have fridges - there is no complimentary mini bar.

it's hard to go back to an inside cabin after this ☺
