The remake Halloween (2007). Absolutely gruesome 😩 Also there are some familiar faces that you’ll recognize 🤐 I don’t like Resurrection but I’m excited for you to see how they followed up Michael’s death.
Halloween H20🎃: A Love Letter to Scream😱 🔪When Laurie says, "Go down the street to the Beckers," this was supposed to refer to the line from Halloween, "Go down the street to the McKenzie's house." The name was changed to Becker, which was the last name of Drew Barrymore's character in Scream. 🔪Molly & Sarah are shown watching Scream 2 when Will checks in on them, a subtle nod to Scream when all the teens at the party watch the original Halloween. Chris Durand, who plays Michael Myers, had an uncredited role as a stunt double for Ghostface in Scream 2. 🔪Kevin Williamson, the creator of Scream, was involved in various areas of production. Although not directly credited, he provided rewrites in dialogue, seen heavily throughout the teen interactions. Miramax/Dimension felt his involvement as a co-executive producer merited credit. 🔪The majority of John Ottman's original score was rejected late in post-production & replaced with Marco Beltrami's scores to Scream, Scream 2, & Mimic. The producers wanted a darker, more Scream-like score, while Ottman's score wasn't strong enough to fit the bill. 🔪Like Drew Barrymore in Scream, Joseph Gordon-Levitt was a well known star who was billed on the poster but famously killed during the film’s opening scene. 🔪After being killed, Sarah’s body is found hanging in a similar way to Casey Becker’s body in Scream. 🔪Similar to David Arquette in Scream, LL Cool J played a likeable character who was “killed” only to be revealed to have survived near the end of the film.
The original working title for the film was Halloween 7: The Revenge of Laurie Strode because it was going to keep the original timeline’s continuity. There was even a scene written where a Hillcrest student wrote a report on Michael’s killing spree with flashbacks to 4-6 mentioned in the text.
I like the H20 timeline, but I watch it as a trilogy and pretend Resurrection doesn't exist haha. I actually prefer Laurie and Michael not being siblings, I just wish the David Gordon Green trilogy had been stronger.
Halloween H20🎃: A Love Letter to Psycho🚿 🔪During the scene where Norma is leaving, she stands in front of the car from Psycho. The music playing in the background is also from Psycho. Janet Leigh (Jamie Lee Curtis’ mom), who plays Norma, played Marion in Psycho. The name Norma is also a reference to Norma Bates, Norman Bates’ mother. 🔪The license plate on the car is also the same as the second car Marion buys in Psycho, “NFB 418,” which are Norman Bates' initials. 🔪During one of the scenes at school, Charlie tells John: "20 years from now, you're still gonna be living with her, probably running some weird motel, out in the middle of nowhere." 🔪Norma tells Laurie that the girls’ shower is clogged again. This is a reference to Janet Leigh's role in Psycho where she was butchered in the famous shower scene. 🔪When Laurie drives through the gate, Ronny calls her "psycho" as she drives past him.
22:53 fun fact... in scream 1..at the beginning the dad says " go down to the Mckenzies call the police " Halloween 1 ref wen Laurie tells Tommy and Lindsay to go down the street to the Mckenzis ..... just now she says go to the " Beckers " .. the first girl that got killed in scream 1 was " Casey Becker " .... Wes craven lol leaving easter eggs be4 we knew movies did that lol RIP
2:10 Truue but ironically she did already go thru H1 and H2 w Michael also lol she's the nurse that was w Loomis and then she came back for Halloween Kills
Yeah, H20 was one of the better installments in the franchise, if only because Jamie Lee Curtis and Josh Hartnett worked so well together. The older lady secretary is Janet Leigh, Curtis' real life mother, and if you look closely at the car in the background of that scene, it's the same one from the 1960 film Psycho. I don't know why they didn't keep this "timeline," I liked seeing that California setting, where "Laurie" has escaped Haddonfield and has a teenage son.
Because John Carpenter didn't like this timeline. He talked about how it was a mistake to make Laurie and Michael siblings and said the only reason that was in the 2nd movie was because he was drinking while writing the script so whenever blumhouse took over for 2018 they wanted it to be a love letter to John Carpenter
@@richardhoehn9922 I didn't either until I heard him talk about it. I have no clue how I even came across that info, it must've been when I was looking up the reason for the new timeline and why that direction was decided
@@richardhoehn9922 yeah, here's a quote I found from an article of him talking about it "Well, okay. Here's how it was. I made Halloween, and then Halloween was sold to NBC to show it. But it was too short-they needed it to be a certain length. So I had to go back and shoot some more footage to make it longer. And I was absolutely stuck. I didn't know what to do. I mean, the movie is the movie-I don't want to touch it. But everybody will be happy with me, and they'll make money, and that's great. So I had to come up with something. I think it was, perhaps, a late night fueled by alcoholic beverages was that idea. A terrible, stupid idea! But that's what we did." Carpenter was also 1 of the people behind wanting to make Halloween an anthology series and that's how we got Halloween 3 because he wanted to put Michael behind him and make new stories but fans ended up not liking it and wanted Michael so the studio went back to Michael and that was the last Halloween movie Carpenter worked on up until Halloween 2018. Honestly, I would still like the anthology stories and since there's been so many Myers movies and only so much you can do with him, Halloween fans have become alot more open to an anthology Halloween series also
This timeline only connects to Halloween 78 and Halloween II from 1981, so it’s a standalone trilogy of Halloween (78), Halloween II (81), H20 (98) and Resurrection (02) but we don’t count that one 🤣🤣🤣
This movie combined two different universes 😭 This movie is a follow up to the original Halloween and it had Scream 2 playing on the TV in that one scene…but in the first Scream, they watched the original Halloween on TV during the party at Stu’s house. Incorrect…but meta nonetheless 🤣😭
After the first 1978 one, H20 is my 2nd favorite (not a perfect movie) but happy if it ended with Laurie cuts his head off. 2018 is like my 3rd favorite.
@EvanRC91 resurrection is one of those movies that it's so bad it's good lol it's definitely not the best at all and has a lot of flaws but I still enjoy it for what it is. I'd choose resurrection over Halloween 3 and 5 lol

So you’re thinking Dr. Loomis is dead . I’m not gonna spoil anything but You should watch part 4, 5 and 6 so you can experience everything else fun Mikey done through the years. And what happens to That character that spark the fire at the end of part 2. Plus more information on Lori‘s son John. From one Halloween fan to the next this is just a suggestion. And a little fun information, the elderly woman that wished Laurie a happy Halloween in reality is her mother, Jamie Lee Curtis’s mother. Who was also the iconic shower girl in the first psycho movie, with Norman Bates. You should watch those also. And the Chris Evans memory about a drawing and he says that “you have her eyes” is from Not Another Teen Movie

@ I just think H20 is a great finale for that timeline. Resurrection is more fun to watch as a joke. It’s not as bad as people make it out to be, but it ruins H20 ending
Yess you’re reaction was great! Made me laugh at all the right moments but also invested as well! H20 is my favorite sequel ! Instead of Resurrection, you should watch Halloween 4: The Return of MIchael Myers! It’s a fan favorite and focuses on Dr. Loomis!!!

All this with ppl recommending "time lines and different universes", nonsense. Watch them in the order they came out. The last 3 movies were trash and a lot of die hard fans, myself included were disappointed. Halloween 3 and the Rob Zombie films are they only stand alones for obvi reasons. If you can get your hands on the producers cut of The Curse of MM 👌 it's completely different from the theatrical release.
