FAQ:
Q: Can I send you a deck to check out?
A: Only patrons can send me decks and expect a reply, because I get too many of these requests to manage. Consider joining the discord (links above) and posting your decks in the #decks channel for community feedback.
Q: Why didn’t you play this certain card I would play?
A: Because I don’t think it is as good as every other card in the deck.
Q: Why did you make that play at time stamp XX:XX?
A: I usually talk through my plays, so watch again and see if I mention it (I often do, sometimes during the turn after the play to keep the video moving). If I don’t mention it at all, I may have missed it. I miss plays several times a day, and so do other players.
Q: How can I support the channel?
A: Watching the videos IS supporting the channel. There are many options above if you have extra money and would like to help more. I appreciate it, I have a lot of bills and life stuff to manage, but it is not required. Take care of yourself first, watch the videos, then give other financial support if you really want to.
Q: Will you play janky deck xyz?
A: My mission is to show people decks that they can play often, win games with, and feel successful with. I don’t enjoy decks that strive to achieve an interaction but rarely win (aka, janky decks). There are many successful jank players on RUclips, and you should check out their channels. I am competitive, I like winning, and I like helping others win and feel successful. That is why you won’t see janky combo decks on the channel very often.
Q: Do you show all your games, or do you edit out your losses?
A: I don’t show all my games. The video is usually the best moments of between one and three hours of recording. I remove games for a number of reasons, both wins and losses. Some games are slow, some aren’t competitive because of lands, some are the same matchup over and over. More losses get cut out than wins because winning is more fun for me, which makes for better content for most viewers. It can be disappointing for those who want to see me lose (yes, people watch just to see me lose, I see you!).
Q: If you edit out some of your losses, how do I know if a deck is good and worth crafting?
A: If you watch the entire video, I always give my honest opinion about the deck at the end. As always, you are welcome to draw your own conclusions. My goal is to show off a variety of decks that can get a player with skill and conviction into Mythic, and I want them to have fun doing it. I almost never show a video of a deck that I don’t believe in, and if I don’t like a deck after playing it, I guarantee you will know about it if you watch the whole video and listen to what I have to say.

Let’s be real- the Azorius Mage is one we all know and love to hate. Big brained, patient to a sociopathic level, and more concerned with ruining the game for you than they are actually winning it. CGB, you do in fact become the villain when you helm your UW decks

Spot on, albeit Azorius doesn't want to ruin things so much but craves order, which as a corollary disrupt your own gameplan and effectively ''ruin your game''.
Note that these traits also pretty much suit the Dimir mage, albeit this one tends to be less patient and more actively focused on actually winning.(or you losing).
The difference between Azorius and Dimir aren't then so much about White VS Black, but about how purposed and patient you are.
And that is to say: how Blue a mage are you.
I can't imagine the sort of twisted depraved mind it takes to sit down to a game of any sort with the sole intention of denying the other player the ability to even play said game
I really enjoy the replied comments to this lol I love the personality that comes with certain color combos. It adds a layer of flavor to the game that makes it so special to me.

You had two flavorful games this video. One with murdering the Realm-Cloaked Giant with the Giant Killer. The other was beating cycling by cycling to a counter. Oh, the irony.

It is very like my FNM decks :D though Necromentia comes into its own (well a little bit ha) when you know 85% of opponents decks as soon as they sit down across from you in a little friendly LGS.

This video (or should I say CGB's shark week and a half) convinced me to become a shark mage. I have been struggling too many times with a Clackbridge Troll in hand with no guaranteed payoff if I cast it in my dimir control deck, especially without a reliable draw engine since I don't own the Tome. These last videos made me realize that the Typhoon would be a much better option than the Troll, especially when I run so many counter and removal spells to build up to Ugin and Ashiok, so the Troll isn't even the best wincon in the deck on top of being a huge liability when I'm low on mana. Plus the Typhoon makes great synergy with the planeswalkers, which the Troll did not. You have succesfully been an inspiration to me CGB, and I bet to many others, so thanks for that!
And don't get me started on the times the opponent got to cast an Embercleave or mutate a creature thanks to the goat tokens I gave them. Or that one time I couldn't cast the Troll because of a Raid Bombardment on the board when I was low on life. There are just too many situations where the Troll is terrible.
Game one was a former mono-red gamer.
Dam the last game was so stressfull, praying for finding the counter you needed all the time. You got lucky, but lucky gives a lot of work and you deserve that luck!

It's always a pleasure to see cycling stopped in It's tracks by counterspells. The only thing better is countering the first Zenith Flare with Ashiok's Erasure and seeing how long it takes them to realise they can't win!
That opening for the Shrine deck happens to me just about every time my opponent has Shrines, it's probably my most feared deck to play against. Except usually they have all of them out.
Yes shrines feels like it should be so bad, and the other day I played against two shrines decks that were packed full of so much extra nonsense but every turn they had exactly the right thing
It felt so good watching you take out that shrines player. I truly hate playing against them with a passion.

Been watching for a long time but wanted to thank CGB for the inspiration. At first I tried to love blue white but after failing and seeing CGB's green food video, I decided that I liked that deck and it has been really fun, casting henge for two mana and assembling thirty power and toughness.

Hateful Eidolon is a good card, cgb. Black enchantments are one of my favorite decks. I don't run Serrated Scorpion though. I don't run Grim Tutor either. That's a bad Black Enchantment deck. Mine is somewhat good.
I make it devotion-based with eidolon+auras as draw engine

CGB, will you do some drafts (hopefully this question does not fall into the Q&A same as jank decks) since your content and mindset really helped out to successfully reach mythic rank past two seasons, it is rather interesting to see your approach to limited format which has been quite a struggle
Those multiple Neutralize top decks were amazing.
Whatever happened to Lurrus in cycling. Lurrus is really good in that deck. Maybe it’s just you get matched up against mythic budget decks and I get 12 straight Yorion decks playing Shadow’s Verdict and Extinction Event when I’m trying to play mono white auras.
a few months back i made a version that had godzilla in the deck hence no lurrus but this dude didnt seem to be going that route so no clue lol
