I thank you so very much for your great video, I have been looking for hydraulics installation tutorials as I have my own car project to do, I have a lot of welding and tools skills but nothing on Lowrider customs installs. Sadly a lot of the fabricators don't wanna share their trade secrets but you make a great difference in the world. This video is pretty much a "Step by step tutorial" that comes very useful for my at this time. Thanks again and please keep posting Lowrider fabrication videos tutorials.
I'm glad it could help I try to give as much info as I can alot of the videos are long but I have watched a lot of videos on things and there is always something where I'm like what did they do there that's wasnt shown. If you hot any questions feel free to ask if it's something I got laying around or a project I'm working on I will see what I can do to help out
@@thecadillacdanshow8658 I will be in touch, I have a lot of questions along the entire process of installing Hydros on cars like drive shaft issues and cutting my Riviera's 63 X-Chassie, I will share my thoughts with you perhaps that will be good material for your next video. Love you safety tips too, I knew I have to do something about the gas tank but wasn't quite sure until I saw your video, I was actually planning on emptying the gas tank, how wrong I was.
Thanks for watching I'm glad it could help all of my videos can carry over to a g body as well the measurements will definitely be diffrent but the process is the same
Can't wait to bring the Bonneville up there.....Congrats on 100! You're gonna hit a thousand or more as soon as you show the Impala again. Proud of you,Brother....Just Rydin C.C!
Love how you do your bridges Dan I’m about to do one my self. Wondering what would be the maximum height for the smoke stacks? on a big body so I could get the most amount of lay
To cut that 6" pipe, I was thinking about making a jig to hold a torch at the right cutting angle (make the holder adjustable) and then making a separate V shaped rest with wheels in the V that the pipe rests on. Then you can fire up the torch and rotate the pipe by hand on the jig while the fixed torch head cuts. If you want to get really fancy you could use wheels that are connected by a mini drive shaft to a speed controlled motor to get consistent cutting speed for the best cut with minimal slag. A bit much for one time use, but if you are a shop, it would be useful. What do you think?
It could definitely be done they have a tool just as you described they use on the pipe line there is a name for it but I cant think of it but you could definitely build one
Can a portable deep cut saw cut 1/4"? Also why did you cut the holes for the cylinders as ovals? Is it because they lean forward as the rear travels up and down? Another idea- Have a donut routed from 3/16"-1/4" urethane and use it as a spring cushion at the top of the spring in the bridge cup. It should work great for noise reduction and you can account for the extra thickness when creating the cups. Just add the thickness of the material to the height of the cups.
Yeah a whole saw will work I use that to cut cylinder holes and body mount holes when wrapping frames also you are correct on the oval hole the cylinder needs to pivot when traveling and I normaly put pvc pipe around the cylinder to keep the noise down
Yeah it can be done I would use 75/25 argon gas. Try to stay a way from flux core welding although it would also work it's just a messy weld and lots of clean up
@@thecadillacdanshow8658 thanks for the tip bro!! It's my first time welding and my 85 cutty is patiently waiting in the drive way lol yea this 140 model only came with flux core wish me luck 🙃
You could I just wanted to keep the underside open I put chain mounts on the bottom I have also seen people add tubing on the sides but with me setting the bridge so high on the frame it would have had clearance issues
not sure bout year or car your modifications are for....but I'm impressed someone from the east side of the Mississippi River knows and is interested into lowriding. I'm from TX but grew up in TN...and nobody since the 90s here does this anymore....I'm not sure if I will juice my 03envoy 4wd ,or bag it...but am planning to do a 89 Chevy caprice on hydros... so I'm doing homework now and till.....keep doing what you do. It inspired me and I know it will help others coming up.
Nice hit me up on Facebook and tag me in your build once you get started feel free to ask questions chances are I can probably link a video to answer them

@@thecadillacdanshow8658 good looking out appreciate it ✌️also do you find that the coil catches at all on the pipe edge when 3 wheeling?
That's why I went to the 8 inch pipe
Very informative bud! Never understood how lowriders turned into high riders lol
