FYI, Ernie Chan was credited as Ernie Chua for the first few years of his Marvel work back in the 70s. I forget the reason why, but it wasn't a typo on Marvel's part.
Great video. I've been aware of Red Sonja for nearly all my life, but I've never really read the character much. Just this year I bought the six novels of hers from the early 80s and have read 5 of the six so far. I haven't explored the comics just yet. Is there a good trade or hardcover collection that has all of these early stories and art you've spotlighted here? I'm very interested
Dynamite just recently released an ADVENTURES OF RED SONJA omnibus which collects all of these Frank Thorne issues. I’m not a big fan of the colour reproduction, though. If you can track down the Artist Editions, that’s my best recommendation. Though they’re pricey and a little unwieldy when it comes to the reading experience.
Each costume design looks like different characters, TBH. One could almost invent a whole lore around these designs being different women, especially with the first one having a differently spelled name.

Interesting. I’ll have to look into that. Thanks for sharing!
It was an error on his birth certificate
Appreciate the short video and intersting subject, Eric. This wasn't in the longer discussion, correct? Excellent content. Thanks!
Yeah, this was just a bonus video. Thank you! 😊

Should really say "How did Red SonYa go from this to this" 😉

The first one was a different character from Howard's original story
Uhh, hard work in the gym and a better manager?
Estaban modeled his Sonja after Brigitte Bardot. The head on the right of page two is a dead giveaway.
