Really helpful information. Thank you Scottie! It is nice to hear that you also need to keep on learning.
really opened my eyes.. tqsm Scottie
you're welcome em🤗
Your progress is amazing, Scottie! Finally your face in the camera 😎
Thanks Flo! You’re the first to comment about that😊 Felt like a big step haha. I am going to try talking as well on camera next video 😬.
its amazing how other people do things flawlessly yet mines not even i struggle endlessly.. even though.. ill continue pushing on no matter what.. even though my art really suck, all i need is a harsh and honest critique.. even though itll hurt.
@@pogz1 How many years did you practice?
Excellent!
Love it
U r my inspiration 😍
Amazing skill👏👏👏
Thanks 😊
You are amazing
I wanna be able to draw like you one day
Hey Scottie awesome portraits as always!

You got me really into brush pens.🖌️
So good to hear Brodey👊🏼
funny aint it i tried so hard and never got so,, in the end i never improve. its like doing weights and never gaining. its like i work twice as hard as anyone. but its for not. i need a pros judgement/critique on my art vid..
What are some other exercises you did when youre were switching to no reference drawing. I'm also struggling and this mirroring helped. I felt like first time playing piano with both hands.
മനോഹരം.
Nice!!!
Thanks man👊🏼 (nice channel too!)
@@SketchingScottie Thanks!
Great tips! Have you done a video about your diluted ink water brush? Do you have different water brushes that have different values? What kind of ink did you put in it? Thanks
Thanks mate! I've only mentioned it a few times in my tutorials but a dedicated video is a great idea 🙌🏼. Generally I have two water brushes. One with 1 or 2 drops of dye ink which is about 30% value (squeezed from the black ink brush pen with black handle) and the other water brush pen is just with plain water. Then when I need darker ink, I brush the water brush tip on the black ink brush tip. haha sounds complex but I will explain that better in a future video!!
@@SketchingScottie got it. I’m going to try it out. Just have to see what kind of dye ink I have. Thanks!
@@eyekzmusic 👍🏼 I’ve tried using pigment ink too. It’s just warmer from my experiments.
@@SketchingScottie good to know. I just filled one with the ink from my FL2F pen and it works great. I also have Platinum Carbon Black ink that I use for my fountain pens, so I may try that at some point too.
awesome! Glad it worked well for you🙌🏼.
Also, forgot to ask. Are you buying refills when you use up you Pentel Colour brush pens or buying new pens or refilling by another method (I know some people cut off the plastic ca and refill with Rotring drawing ink etc.). I used to prefer my cartridge-based Pentel and Kuretake brush pens, but I'm now tending to favour the Colour brushes of late.
At the moment I’m just buying the refills for the colour brush pens. Well actually they were out of stock at my store so I had to buy a couple of new pens instead! 😂 Expensive. I plan to get some rotring ink and try refilling but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
@@SketchingScottie Hi Scott, yes I'm hoping to a buy a regular black refill and use it in my extra fine colour brush pen as that is nearing the end of its ink, but I wish they would make the refills a bit cheaper. I'm pleased though that the brush tips seem the outlast the ink and I have had none go on me so far.
@@thestourvalleysynthesizerc6543 yea they are expensive! My brush tips have also lasted quite well, even after months of use.
its always been my daily struggle in improving my art skills. ive been watching alot of videos yet i am not able to absord all of it. can you please critique my art video.. i need an expert opinion
What pen was that for the grey shades on the face? Was that a brush pen of some kind?
yes I was using a Pentel Waterbrush Pen: amzn.to/3rrHOBB Filled with water and then added a few drops of black ink from my black brush pen👍🏼
Any feedback of the course from the community?
Nice video. Brush pen name??
Thanks! Pentel Fude Pigment Med Tip- amzn.to/3qGuRFK
Does she go over drawing portraits
From memory she mostly sketches animals to demonstrate her techniques which I've applied to portraits 👍🏼
Amazing video as always I haven't been commenting hope u remember me
yes Hamza!! I always appreciate your support 🤗. Hope you are well.
