In 1998, Constantin Film set out to adapt the greatest horror video game franchise of all time,
hiring legendary film director George A. Romero. Now, Key 13 Films, in association with Point
Five Films and director Brandon Salisbury set out to uncover the mystery behind why
Romero’s vision was never produced.
George A. Romero’s Resident Evil is a stylized documentary, utilizing archived footage,
unearthed documents, and newly filmed interviews with a wide variety of personalities. The
documentary combines elements from Capcom’s hit video game series and the raw, visceral
style of George A. Romero to full immerse the audience in a cinematic horror aesthetic.

We have an agreement with Capcom. We had communication with Constantin Film and they denied us from filming the script.

That will be up to the distributor. But we plan a worldwide release, so I would hope it has subtitles for various languages.

This already looks pretty amazing! Having just played an absolutely fantastic RE 4 Remake, these news came just in time for more RE goodness for all of us fans! Can't wait to see it, i specially want to know more about what would Romero's final version be like. It seems how most people and fans always think how he and Alan McElroy each did just one draft of the script, when actually they did multiple drafts. McElroy did at least one more, and from what i heard, Romero wrote eight drafts, and supposedly, long ago someone who had some connection to Romero said how his final draft was even better than first.
We will be discussing the drafts in the doc.

Still the greatest and biggest "what if" in horror movie history; Capcom and Constantin Films favoring Paul W.S. Anderson's version of RE over George A. Romero's was a complete and utter travesty. That's how you do a goddamn teaser trailer! Nothing more, nothing less.

Would have loved to see Romero's adaptation come true. Probably would not have been the best budget but it certainly would have had all the feels that the Paul W S Anderson was lacking despite being a good film in it's own right. I know it's an unpopular opinion but i actually thin Welcome to racoon city came the closest to recreating that 1990's feel of the first games and Romeeo film, i actually appreciate the film for that. Anyway i'm so happy you managed to create this documentary and hope you will get to release it soon. 😊❤
Game Informer did a radio play-style read of the Romero script, and it seemed like a silly fun movie. I guess an energy similar to other stuff at the time, like Pitch Black, Deep Rising, Mimic, Alien Resurrection, stuff like that. I will never understand why they went with Anderson. I tried to give those movies a second chance within the last year, and tried to approach them with a more open mind, and I hate them even more now than I did back then.
If you guys read this comment, We never wanted all that jump flip kick crap in the movies. We actually wanted what you guys ares showing us. If you guys can still pull this movie off now, You will have millions of dollars to swim in. These are facts & no lies my friends. We all want the original the way it was intended to be.
Well, we can't make the movie that George wrote because Constantin has the rights. However, we will talk a lot about what happened and the general flavor of what the film could have been.

As this is a documentary not us making another RE movie, I think we have an interesting story.
Bro it's an informative documentary about george a romero supposed resident evil film, most likely recreating a scene or two there but it's going to cover the history of this incredible what if.
Funny, way back in the day a friend said, being nice, that I'd do a good job making a RE movie, if only because I'd go over making it with a fine toothed comb.
