You’re very talented and handy 😊I’m always impressed with your DIY projects. The paint colour is beautiful and the added touches - black handles, ceiling light shades, photo gallery and mirror - are pleasing to the eye. And the curtain to cover the washing machine is great. I’m now looking around my own home and 🤔 “what can I change” 😂😂😂
Hi Alix. The stripped paint on your door lining is because someone's taken out the stop (the strip of wood that the door closes against inside the frame). No idea why someone would take it out, but you should probably get it replaced - it'll look better but also offers some fire protection.
i just finished rewatching the moving vlogs and I was thiniking that the dark blue on the hallway is not really working with the soft beige pink in the office or the rest of the house... now it's looks perfect and right!!! plus, we all know you are the neutral queen
What a fantastic transformation! Your gallery wall is a fabulous visual to greet your guests! It makes your flat feel like a cozy and personalized home! I’m so impressed with your DIY curtain/shelf creation! I do have a suggestion you might find helpful for the new black handles on the cupboards. Having caught and ripped many a trouser pocket and sleeve cuff on similar handles, if you turn them so they are vertical, they might not jump out and rip your clothes. They can be evil like that. You did such an excellent job! Sanding, filling with putty, more sanding, and painting... you’re quite the handywoman! Fixing all those little details makes such a huge difference! Woo Hoo! Well done, Alex!
(Controversial opinion here) Farrow & Ball isn't worth the hype. Most paint companies offer primer in the paint, and you can easily paint any colour in 2 coats. The colour choices with F&B is FAB though, wish the quality was up to par.
Love the paint colour - out of interest do you rent or own your property. I rent and am unsure how I would go about doing a DIY if I don't own it. thanks x
Loved the video..whoa so different seeing the books faced towards the pages..i'm used to seeing the binding of the book titles. First time seeing books organized your way..interesting...regardless, i love watching your videos
So lovely! The green colour looks so great with the black accents and the natural wood/tan pieces you have. It looks homey and cozy, but still polished. Fabulous job!
Absolutely loved the curtain to cover the dryer. Awesome idea and great job. Just a quick question, why are all the books facing out with the pages instead of the spines? I would think it would be hard to know what you’re reading.
Really enjoyable to watch and listen to. So pleased you talked about Farrow & Ball paints. I love their colours but they are ridiculously expensive (to me anyway). I’ve used B&Q mixed paints for over 20 years and never had a problem (but I’m no expert). I’m off to Desenio cos your hallway is tickin’!!! 😍
We watched Emma Hill paint her house and she also loved the Valspar paint more - and she said it applied far better. Love your hallway. Railings has become so mundane. Every other UK RUclipsr has a room or kitchen in Railings. We adore this stunning colour, and you're so right, it goes beautifully with your current decor in the rest of your home xox
Thank you for sharing your opinion of Farrow and Ball. I have just painted my dining room in Joas White and thought I was going mad about the coverage. I am mad at all the touch ups I have had to do, especially at £45 a can. Lovely job, well done.
To be honest I was confused about why you chose a dark blue in the beginning. This is just so fresh and open. Shows how little touches such as handles and some pictures can make such an impact. Love it!
Loved this, very nicely put together loved the format! Can’t wait for more. I left my hallway until last but after revamping it I realised what a huge difference it makes to a home, the first thing we see when we get back and pottering through all day. This colour is amazing x
This was so satisfying to watch and I wish I was as creative as you! The new walls are gorgeous and you have such good taste! I’m now super tempted to paint my room after seeing this 😂
I did the exact same thing with my living room paint. Valspar is much better quality, and less than half the price! Quick question through, why are the books placed with the spines inwards?
You're very talented Alix! I honestly couldn't understand the choice of the dark colour on the walls year ago, it looks so much better now!👏 May I ask how/where did you learn all these things? How to install a curtain rack or how to hem the curtain, it would be so overwhelming to me!
What a great job! So clever, I would have never thought to use the shelf to mount the curtains! Absolutely beautiful hallway entrance, and those shades 😍
Its bugging me that everyone going on about FB paint . It's lead by sheep following sheep .!! It's rubbish !! Just Look on normal paint charts and you can get absolutely the same results for far less money , time and effort ! My hubby is a painter /decorator so I'm in the know ! 😜🤣 I love your DIY tho 👍 thanks for sharing it's fab !!
She never said she was renting, lol. Condo isn't a term used outside of US and Canada. If someone owns the apartment, they just say flat, so flat could mean either.
it looks so beautiful!!! I loved that dark green when you did it BUT this colour is perfect for sure. such a good decision. so smart to add the shelf above the laundry. SUPER interesting that you turn your books around and show the pages for the colour im assuming.
Wow, I’m impressed! It looks like you hired an interior designer to do it 😍 Btw, I thought I was the only one keeping my books backwards on a bookshelf for aesthetic purposes 😂
Looks lovely! I’d been thinking of painting over my dark paint and was worried it would take loads of coats. Valspar paint is by far the best isn’t it xx
That was one of the best videos I’ve seen since I’ve been a caged animal I totally forgot where I was and what was going on your updates looked great 👍
I like your new wall color. The previous one was way too dark. Consider painting all of the doors black. Those doors that are currently bare wood looks like an unfinished project. I would paint the chair rail white including the area beneath it. I would also install square mouldings in the area beneath the chair rail to give it the illusion of wall panels.

Loved this concept of showing us what you have changed once you have lived in the space with your original DIYs :)

I feel ya! We are living now for 3 years in our flat and there are alwaysssss so many things to do, never ends 😅
I’m so impressed! You’ve done a brilliant job it all looks great
And without help from her boyfriend. Admirable 🙏

Your very good at DIY!! And I love the way the hallway turned out how beautiful is that colour. And the hack to hide the tumble dryer.

agreed. Farrow and Ball is overhyped and too expensive.
Love the paint colour - out of interest do you rent or own your property. I rent and am unsure how I would go about doing a DIY if I don't own it. thanks x

The hallway looks great, love the picture wall and how you have hidden the dryer x
I LOVE this transformation!!! Looks so good, elegant and cozy at the same time xx
OBSESSED with the bookshelf vignette. you are really talented!

The hallway looks soo good with the new colour!!
So lovely! The green colour looks so great with the black accents and the natural wood/tan pieces you have. It looks homey and cozy, but still polished. Fabulous job!
Omg loving the hallway wot a transformation loving the lampshades and Ur picture gallery looks great it all looks great ❤️🌸🌸
Wow everything came out absolutely amazing! This was so satisfying to watch! Thank you for this little escape!
This is so realistic tbh, it normally takes people a long time to fix their home when they move. It takes time, money and inspiration.
The video is very well edited, it has a storyline and is in a way different. Plus the moving vlogs are very calming, especially these days.
Absolutely loved the curtain to cover the dryer. Awesome idea and great job. Just a quick question, why are all the books facing out with the pages instead of the spines? I would think it would be hard to know what you’re reading.
Love that olive green colour!

I've never given my hallway any love, this is inspiring 💖
So beautiful! You have such a good eye for interiors!!😍😍
To be honest I was confused about why you chose a dark blue in the beginning. This is just so fresh and open. Shows how little touches such as handles and some pictures can make such an impact. Love it!
So lovely! You could get some simple but beautiful cornice to smarten it even more x
Loved this, very nicely put together loved the format! Can’t wait for more. I left my hallway until last but after revamping it I realised what a huge difference it makes to a home, the first thing we see when we get back and pottering through all day. This colour is amazing x

I absolutely LOVE this wall colour! Now to persuade my husband to put it in the hall, stairs and landing 😂

Absolutely love how it turned out! How have you gone about with renting a flat and doing DIY? Or is your landlord just really cool 😄
She never said she was renting, lol. Condo isn't a term used outside of US and Canada. If someone owns the apartment, they just say flat, so flat could mean either.
This video really inspired me to change a couple of things in my house! The curtain idea is excellent and looks lovely xx

Well done! It looks great! The landlord must be so happy with you!
Doesn't she own the flat?
How do you ever find a specific book when they’re all turned around??
This is good to know about F&B! I’m going to be redoing a bedroom later on in the year so I think I will stick with B&Q! Thanks Alix!
I'd change the coat hanger with a full length mirror in the entrance. Well done
You have some serious skills! Well done
You should paint the back of the door to match the hallway. It’ll make the space more uniformed
So gorgeous Alix! 👏 I love with the paint colour too 😍
I love it Alix!!! Looks amazing!!!
Wow, I’m impressed! It looks like you hired an interior designer to do it 😍 Btw, I thought I was the only one keeping my books backwards on a bookshelf for aesthetic purposes 😂
