G29 series of wheels is best entry level wheel when it's on the used market from someone upgrading to a DD or bored of driving games already. Of course nothing beats a direct drive wheel base, budget has to be there.

Unfortunatlley for me, I'm on PS5 and my upgrade choices are limited - No Moza. I have to go with either Fanatec GT bundle, or Logitech G Pro. Both very expensive. What I might do is just get the G Pro wheels, not the peddles as I like my G29 peddles just fine. With those, I might either leave as is or install the Tru-Brake mod.
yeah i thought about getting the r3 but it also just so happens to cost all of the money i have rn. not that im in a bad spot it just feels morally wrong lmao. the thought that i can sell the g29 in the future & upgrade to DD comforts me, so i think i made the right choice
As an Xbox guy, I feel your pain trying to find other stuff to do while your games set to "automatic updates" decide they want to update as soon as you go to play them
the moza r3, they way that they get it to be Xbox compatible is actually the wheel itself. You can technically use any wheel you want on the xbox/pc R3 bundle but only the OE wheel works on console.
You don't have to be nuts to choose Logitech. Their global distribution is the best among the three. While Thrustmaster is the worse. Like how TF it's easier to find and buy PXN, Fanatec & Moza? Thrustmaster existed waaaay longer than these guys. You can't have a better product if your product doesn't available.
it's funny how belt and gear driven wheel bases are still so expensive for what they are, especially when DD's are getting cheaper. Makes no sense paying around €400 for a T300 and something like a T-GT II ( around €400 just for the base, and around €700 with pedals included that aren't even the T-LCM's). The prices of these products need to go down, nothing justifies the current prices. And I don't even consider the Logitech side of things even an option, because gear driven is like the worst of the bunch.
Price really does differ, depending on where you are. In Australia, the Moza R3 is AU$729 RRP. The Logitech G923 is $649 RRP, but can get cheaper (cheapest I found was $438). When I looked at the Euro pricing, there was only 10 euros difference. Weird.
I got tired of waiting for the R3 and bought another TX base. It's noisy with the fan. I'm sure an R3 will be my next purchase. Glad it finally became available.
😎 I just switched from a Thrustmaster T300 to a Moza R3. I did upgrade to the SR-P Loadcell Pedals and a larger 12inch ES Steering wheel. Also, everything Mounted straight on to my Next Level 2.0 rig. Direct Drive is so much different than gears or Belts. Moza has a decent ecosystem if you want to continue to upgrade. My next upgrade will probably be a R5 or an R9. As long as you are using the ES XBOX compatible wheel, you do have some upgrade options on Xbox. And yes the Stand alone ES is still different from the Xbox compatible ES that comes in the R3 bundle. I have an email from Moza stating that a stand alone Xbox Compatible ES could happen in the near future. One last important thing to know, compatibility for Xbox is built inside the Button Box on the Steering Wheel itself and not the R3 DD base.

PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING FOR THE R3 MOZA WHEEL DO NOT, i repeat, to anyone who reads the posts here, DO NOT go near the R3. THe reason is, it doesn't give that drag feeling while turning and going back to self center in the straights! it is dead! it doesnt give this sense of the heaviness drag you get while turning with high speed as you get from the g923, and any belt & gear driven wheels! EVEN THE T150, the weakest thrustmaster wheel, which costs merely 200 dollars, gives better feeling when turning and going back to self centering!! the R3 though it is the DD wheel with significantly higher Nm torque than the g923, yet it doesn't give you that self centering feeling heaviness when you drive in a straight. It has a totally LOOSE FEELING, it feels like it is out of the power socket, and turns loose!! The only thing is worth for, is the detailed info you get driving over bumps and rough surfaces, it really shines there, but i repeat, in a straight line, or even when straightening the wheel back to the center after a high speed turn, you will be so disapointed, you will feel that you threw your money to a wasted racing wheel! A friend of mine, spent 450$ to buy the MOZA R3 DD motor, the MOZA rim and the pedals, plus an extra 350$ for the MOZA echo system 's F1 wheel, and he is crying as we speak!! Go for the T150, the g920, the g923, the TS-XW, the TX racing wheel, all belt driven, all spectacular xbox ONE, S, X, series S/X wheels, 10 times better than the R3. Now the R5, and the higher versions of MOZA brand are another story, but they cost 1500$ starting price, plus they are compatible with a pc, not an XBOX console. IF you insist on going with a DD wheel for the xbox consoles line up, there's only one path: CSL DD FANATEC.. The R3 is a total failure. Go at your own risk after reading this..
Game compatibility should also be a consideration for console users and I would definitely suggest that users check the manufacturers websites before they buy just to make sure that they can actually play the games that they want to though 😉 The Moza seems to be mainly for current-ish games and older Forza games are not supported for example 🤔
Excellent video. I would also add to the mix the CSL DD ready to race bundle with the McLaren Xbox compatible wheel. I think it is also a good choice even with the uncertainty with Fanatec. The moza wheel appear to be very good, but it is not compatible with all games including ACC.
I had the G29 for a while until I went full Fanatec with DD Pro and QR1’s on every wheel and never looked back. Night and day difference like many reviewers have described. I have the CSL BMW steering wheel, Clubsport Formula V2.5 and McLaren GT3 V2 with PlayStation. All fantastic!! Fanatec’s prices are competitive even with the power struggle that is going on there lately.
For the MOZA, the chip is within the wheel so you’re stuck with the form factor of a round wheel, which in my opinion is horrible and not properly thought out. This to me is a huge consequence of this R3 package. (We are just strictly speaking of wheels here, not force feedback) IF that chip was in a form of an adapter that can be plugged into a base or a MOZA hub, that would be very nice because every MOZA base can take advantage of the compatibility, as well as being able to accept other MOZA wheels. But the biggest gripe for me is that IF that chip was actually built into the base (like the PlayStation Fanatec) you can use the Formula or GT wheels on it. Don’t forget that the MOZA has a quick release system whereas the logitech you’re comparing it to, doesn’t. The fact that this Xbox console compatibility is only seen as a “beginner wheel”due to the fact that it’s just an R3, is completely isolating the rest of the sim racing community. Even if you were able to connect this Xbox wheel to a stronger base, you are basically limited to the form factor of this wheel. It just doesn’t make sense to me.
An adapter with the security chip inside or within the MOZA hub, would be the most versatile solution that can benefit all users in my opinion especially for those who are new to the brand and those who already own MOZA bases. In fact they could have gotten more customers to buy the more expensive bases given the options that are readily available. They could easily have implemented this adapter / hub (you know it’s possible cuz there are third party adapters out there) but both of these companies got greedy as they know they can use this strategy to sell more bases. Long story short: Xbox console compatibility shouldn’t just be isolated to just beginners or little kids, but the eco system is useless given the chip is within that specific wheel. It’s basically wrong to blatantly assume that console players are all new to sim racing.
Hence why both Logitech and Moza are garbage in my opinion compared to Fanatec. If Fanatec is good enough for a company like Sony and F1 I think that says it all.
I think cuz I'm on carpet if the moza had the g923 pedals I'd go for the moza but again because I'm carpeted the g923 will be the one for me, I've also looked at thrustmaster stuff but I'm pretty set on the g923, I've also never used a wheel so to me I can probably adapt as I'm not used to any other wheel
you should do a review on the pxn v12 lite direct drive i’ve been looking around and i’ve watched the 2 or 3 reviews out there by ocracing and takeover but it looks like a great entry/midrange bundle with a wheel pedals base and table clamp with 6nm for the same price as the csl dd with the table clamp

Any of the PS versions of the Fanatec DD wheel bases (which are usually a bit more expensive) will work on Xbox - as long as you use an Xbox compatible steering wheel Sony put their security in the actual wheelbase hence the need for a different base.

😎 I've had the G923 for two and a half years, and now Simagic Alpha for a week. Logitech was great as a device to test whether virtual racing was my thing. This is enough equipment to get someone excited about simracing. If you find that you like it, it doesn't matter whether it's a gear drive or a tiny DD, it will start to excite you and you will move on, just like I did now. However, if you don't enjoy it, you will lose less money. By the way, Truforce is overrated, at least on G923. When it is turned on, the steering wheel is very noisy, which means very, very loud, so it is not very pleasant to play with. Trueforce effects need to be suppressed, which makes them low usable. I don't have any console, but I don't know if that matters.
I have a Logitech G920 and I want to upgrade to the Moza R3.. I'm in Brazil and the price difference is quite big between them.. Moza R3 is triple the price of a Logitech G920.. the problem is that there is no other intermediate option.. Thrustmaster TX practically the same price as the Moza R3.. Thrustmaster T248x is a little cheaper.. and the TS-XW is a little more expensive.. any Fanatec is much more expensive.. So even though the Moza R3 is triple the price of a Logitech G920 it is still the best value for money for a possible upgrade. You who tested both side by side.. Hello, I have had the g29, the t300 and the r3 and for me that is the order of quality of each one, there is a lot of difference from the g29 to the moza r3 and the pedal board can always be improved, the one from Logitech can hardly be improved and the t3pa It's rubbish even if it's the best
deinfetely moza. much better ecosystem. though the pxn one is twice the price so you can get a moza r9 for that price. also, pxn is a chinese company with little to none social media presence and their website looks like it was entirely done with google translate.
Good video, but one mistake - The G923,. G29, etc, wheels are covered in real leather, not fake leather. No idea about the Moza. Also, what do you suggest for upgrade path for PS5 users? No Moza yet. I think my only choice is Fanatec Gran Turismo DD or DD pro, OR Logitech G Pro. The Fanatec option being the cheapest, but I'm a bit worried about entering the Fanatec eco system right now due to their financial situation. Your thoughts? Will Moza ever offer a PlayStation version?
Don’t even worry about it get the DD Pro with QR1’s on your wheels. You will love it. I had a gear driven G29 which was noisy and terrible compared to the DD Pro.

I think everyone should start out on a Logitech the market is flooded with used ones for two reasons first reason they're most likely upgrading to a direct drive because they've realized how much they love Sim racing and reason number two people bought a $300 wheel and realize that they're absolute trash or they feel like they can't compete and they're throwing in the towel I've been using a Logitech g920 for 8 months now I play on Xbox and PC mostly PC now I play AC and ACC and I feel like it's a stepping stone for everyone only if you're truly dedicated should you upgrade now I've got a full dedicated rig I've got my comfy chair I've got a 40 inch screen just for the rig and I dream every day about triple 32s sorry for the long comment😂
With the kind of money Logitech made on the cheap wheels like the G29 and others before it one would think they would already have wheels that can compete with Fanatec. Their wheels are weak and poorly designed for the kind of money they want for their high end one. Don’t even bother with these save a little more and buy Fanatec.
logitech has very bad software and their support is bad. they break very often. also the thumbnail is misleading, the r3 package does come with a table clamp.

i upgraded a month ago to the moza r3 from the logitech g920 and it was a BIG step up , the wheel is much smoother and powerful compared with the g920

Thrustmaster T248x is a little cheaper.. and the TS-XW is a little more expensive.. any Fanatec is much more expensive..
So even though the Moza R3 is triple the price of a Logitech G920 it is still the best value for money for a possible upgrade.
You who tested both side by side.. Is Moza three times better than Logitech?.. is it worth getting so much more in this upgrade?

Hello, I have had the g29, the t300 and the r3 and for me that is the order of quality of each one, there is a lot of difference from the g29 to the moza r3 and the pedal board can always be improved, the one from Logitech can hardly be improved and the t3pa It's rubbish even if it's the best
..in Germany the r3 is already cheaper...

Moza R3 or Pxn v12lite?
deinfetely moza. much better ecosystem. though the pxn one is twice the price so you can get a moza r9 for that price. also, pxn is a chinese company with little to none social media presence and their website looks like it was entirely done with google translate.

Good video, but one mistake - The G923,. G29, etc, wheels are covered in real leather, not fake leather. No idea about the Moza.
Also, what do you suggest for upgrade path for PS5 users? No Moza yet. I think my only choice is Fanatec Gran Turismo DD or DD pro, OR Logitech G Pro.
The Fanatec option being the cheapest, but I'm a bit worried about entering the Fanatec eco system right now due to their financial situation.

Don’t even worry about it get the DD Pro with QR1’s on your wheels. You will love it.
I had a gear driven G29 which was noisy and terrible compared to the DD Pro.

the moza r3 is cheaper than the logitech g923 here lol, the moza r3 is about 500 sgd and the g923 is 600-700 sgd
Also, Logitech doesn't officially bring in the Xbox version of the g923 here.

I think everyone should start out on a Logitech the market is flooded with used ones for two reasons first reason they're most likely upgrading to a direct drive because they've realized how much they love Sim racing and reason number two people bought a $300 wheel and realize that they're absolute trash or they feel like they can't compete and they're throwing in the towel I've been using a Logitech g920 for 8 months now I play on Xbox and PC mostly PC now I play AC and ACC and I feel like it's a stepping stone for everyone only if you're truly dedicated should you upgrade now I've got a full dedicated rig I've got my comfy chair I've got a 40 inch screen just for the rig and I dream every day about triple 32s sorry for the long comment😂
You should try the G923 with a 30v 4A power supply . The difference is noteworthy. The G923 can handle more power than it ships with.
With the kind of money Logitech made on the cheap wheels like the G29 and others before it one would think they would already have wheels that can compete with Fanatec.
Their wheels are weak and poorly designed for the kind of money they want for their high end one.
Don’t even bother with these save a little more and buy Fanatec.

logitech has very bad software and their support is bad. they break very often. also the thumbnail is misleading, the r3 package does come with a table clamp.
