How much heavier is it at full force feedback? I'm looking into their DD wheelbases and am thinking of getting the R9, it seems to be kind of a minimum for a "realistic" experience with a car with no power steering. G29 is trying to put out some force driving an IndyCar but it's still awfully weak.
@@OCRacing great so far. New to DD wheel so learning how it works on different racing games is an adjustment. I like the customisation from the app. Makes it interesting and brought life to games that became a bit stale
one thing to note that is if you use the wheel provided with any moza wheel base it also becomes xbox compatible. Due to the security chip being in the wheel not the base. Moza also said they plan to release the wheel seperately
What makes me the most happy is that it has more ports than the R9, so you don't need to spend an extra $40 on a hub to connect the accessories. Obviously, OC Racing has a great grasp on how realistic anything should be for sim-racing. I am 100% sure this will take off more than the g923, g920, or g29. I hope that they release more upgrades for this wheelbase, because this could eliminate absolutely all competition for PC and now Xbox racers as well. This whole concept is so beginner friendly and it's amazing. Good job Moza!
I plan on buy this for ATS AND ETS2. And eventually getting the truck wheel and wheel alignment clamps at this price I’m glad I can at least get into the moza echo chamber 😅
Is 3.9 Nm really low? I run my base at lower force than this and I don't need more, at least not until I get a proper rig. You didn't say what torque you use on your main base. Sure, when someone comes from using a wheel at 10-15 Nm, then a 4Nm will feel weak, but I doubt it's the same for people to whom it's their first wheel or an upgrade from low tier Logitech/Thrustmaster.
i had a logitech G920 wich according to net have around 2.0 - 2.2 NM and i usedit around 40-50% of 2.2NM, so basicly 1.0-1.2 NM and that was more than enough for me so i think 3.0-3.9 is not really low if u never had a DD wheel
It's somewhat low for stuff where you rely on the wheel self centering really fast, like in drifting, and for more realism with certain racing styles higher than 4 would be rather nice.... But with that said it's definitely enough for most users I think
I just got mine and it is way more powerful than RUclips says. Maybe just because I’ve never had a more powerful setup but it strait pulls out of your hand when it gets wild
A lot of people who will say to just get the R5 or better instead either come from having tried higher torque wheelbases, have some obsession with matching the feel of an actual car, and/or have the luxury of getting the R5 bundle on sale (which admittedly makes the R5 a justifiably better option) The R3 is perfectly fine for newcomers and people who don’t get the opportunity to buy the R5 bundle on discount (it never does or ever will in my country). Besides, not everyone getting a wheel is going to be aiming for leaderboards anyway, just having a cheaper way to upgrade from a controller (additionally without the annoying gear/belt noises) will be enough for most.
What they should have done in the first place is just release an XBox Compatible wheel, so that anyone on the Moza eco system can play on XBox using their own Wheelbase.
You didn’t go into the console compatibility aspect, unless I missed it. Im pretty sure u can take the rim on the r3 and use it on an r12 to achieve Xbox compatibility with the r12
@@OCRacing true. For the hardcore tho, I could see somebody buying the r3 just for the rim to get their r12 to work on an xbox. It only works on moza bases that have the input for the pedals on the base, which I think the r16 removes.
Logitech and thrustmaster will be dead outside of playstation after this release. As a canadian you're absolutely killing it with the discount codes btw. I saved hundreds and it is very much appreciated thank you.
I only used logitech and after that the power of this felt enough for me, my wrists got tired after a few minutes. The loadcell is the most important upgrade.
I just want a cheap, but quality direct drive wheel to play American Truck Simulator with. I don't need nor want a ton of feedback force, just something nicer then the Thrustmaster TMX to cruise with. The hybrid gear/belt drive on the TMX doesn't have enough "resolution" as I am usually jumping between two teeth on the gear drive while trying to drive straight down the highway lane. The Moza R3 bundle (with the 12 inch wheel addon and a clutch pedal) looks like it'll do the job quite nicely! Still pricey though, haha. Maybe for Christmas.
Juat as a heads up for people who want to get this but want a load cell brake there is now a mod that lets you have a load cell but you will also need the performance kit that moza sells (tbh who wouldn't buy the performance kit though if they wanted a load cell for the srp-lite pedals)
If they can get this down to 300-350, on sale for less than 300 it would be such a competitive and valid option for beginners who don't know if they would like the hobby or not
@@jochenkraus7016 Yup that's my mistake. The regular SR-P's (not the Lite) are the ones that have a loadcell. For the SR-P Lites, only the brake performance kit is available, which makes it better but still isn't a loadcell. The good thing is that the SR-P loadcell pedals would be able to plug into the back of this base and still be used on console. I got that confused when writing the script.
@Burntoilcoffee Unfortunately there seem to be no options to add an LC brake pedal or include the more expensive pedals. I think the same applies for the R5 bundle. Shouldn't be a big deal in their own online shops. Or it's like that to make people who want LC pedals consider the bigger bases.
I have the T300RS GT and The brake is just ugh to put the least. I found a spring and backed off the conical brake mod and the spring helps transition into the "tip" of the brake mod. This gives the brake a nice progressive feel with it starting to get harder at around 82%. If you play Beamng I would suggest this over mine because the software could help with Beamngs FFB. Also my setting are 80 smoothing and 300 FFB when drifting and 240-270 for non Drifting.
Saving up for this bundle to switch from my logitech G923 wheel. Dont have a lot of money but really want a better experience with a direct drive wheel for the xbox since its all I can race on. Think its perfect for the price, definitely getting the formula wheel and brake upgrade alongside it. hope I can get it soon, also since forzas recent update for logitech wheels killed my setup and how it feels. Hope they make a better xbox compatible wheel in the future as well
Yup interesting point. There’s of course other things to keep in mind such as the QR, the table clamp (which I don’t think the Fanatec comes with but I may be wrong, shipping, etc. Either way, I think this is a solid offering for Xbox users but the biggest leg up Fanatec has will be that boost kit and higher starting NM.
I think you really should have tested and reviewed this on an Xbox directly so you could answer the real questions - Will other wheels/pedal work with R3 on Xbox, whether the ffb is still as accurate on Xbox as it is on PC, how easy it is to modify the ffb settings on Xbox etc.. as I feel like the biggest buyers of this will be xbox players as PC players have many more options for similar prices, whereas Xbox doesn’t have many competitors
Im current planning to either get the Moza R5, or the CSL DD. Leaning towards the CSL due to being upgradable in torque, and having a better wheel options
There are so few videos on r3 Xbox specific game compatibility and settings videos for getting somewhere in the ballpark. I spent 4 hours tweaking settings on horizon 5. Forza Motorsport doesn’t seem to work with my r3. Ac and acc work but also required hours of setup and tweaking to get the feeling right. Don’t get me started on CarX drift. If you could share some setup on some games that would be sick
For an Xbox only gamer what should i buy to upgrade my Thrustmaster tx. MOZA r3 bundle like this one, or the fanatec csl dd with the mclaren rim. The moza is more appealing for slightly cheaper price and the quick release looks very nice too, and the company seems more stable than fanatec. But atm moza doesn’t have a load cell upgrade that works on Xbox and in the future some time I probably would want to upgrade this, and fanatec offers a console friendly h pattern shifter and in the bundle a more premium McLaren rim. Or a third option would be the pxn v12 lite but again this doesn’t offer a load cell upgrade yet, I’m not too familiar with the company and most importantly I would have to buy off aliexpress which apparently in the uk there could be some hefty import taxes which I wouldn’t be fond of, but the wheel rim looks quite high quality with magnetic shifters the same nice quick release as moza and a fake leather wrap. Out of these three, what would everyone suggest i go for
"The good thing is that the SR-P loadcell pedals would be able to plug into the back of this base and still be used on console." R3 does support loadcell
I'm getting a set up soon and was thinking about getting one of these. (I've never I had a SIM racing wheel or set up before.) Do you think the 3.9 nm would be enough?
I play on Xbox with a Logitech G920.. and I want to upgrade to a better steering wheel.. I'm in doubt between Moza R3 and Thrustmaster TS-XW.. which is the best choice?
Hey, do You have the ES F1 wheel mod to check if the flex exists there too? I intend to buy something after having a G923, and still hanging on the fence between Fanatec and Moza. Thank you.
I understand the R3 comes with a desk clamp but does it have mounting options to bolt directly to a wheel and pedal rig? I have the Next Level wheel stand 2.0 for reference.
The CSL DD Ready 2 Race definitely much better quality with much less flex. It has 5Nm upgradable to 8Nm. Upgradable pedals from Fanatec and also from 3DRAP. Also costs 40 euro less
How does this compare to the Logitech G920 with only 2.2nm (and the death chatter that Logitech gear wheels are famous for)? I want to upgrade my G920 but cannot afford the better wheels. I have had my eye on the R3 as it seems like it would be better than my G920 and is reachable with my budget.
yes! def a good choice i had an G920 too and i only used half or even less of its power in games meaning, i never really experienced logitech full 2.2nm power + the gear mechanism would probaly broke, the R3 or even the R5 is definitly way better
399 yes, but table clamp +30 or 50 bucks i dont remember, also the QR2 Lite is shit so you need at least QR2 (Quick Relase) wich also adds upp 50 bucks or something, ohh yes you can upgrade it to 8nm with 100+ bucks, atleast moza didnt went into bankrupt
Time for Logitech to retire the gear drive wheels, maybe they should look to make 3/4nm DD wheel base they could even call it the "Driving Force Direct" as the current G923 cant compete with what Moza is now offering for Xbox, if they can keep up game support on Xbox I would recommend anyone get the R3 over the G920/923 thats for sure.
Lol. It looks like they just took the back off of the R5. I do love my R5 but I wish I picked up the R9 or 12. Might be a great starter for my son if he starts showing interest.
Hey! fantastic review, but what are your thoughts on fanatec being bought out by corsair and potentially increasing prices or cutting corners to maximize profit?
Honestly, I don't think it's fair to assume that. At the end of the day, only time will tell what happens. Do I think it's for the better or for the worst? I honestly don't know.. I could make good points for both sides. Either way, what happens, happens.
@@OCRacingI feel the same. To much unknown at this moment and speculation. We will need to wait and see what the future brings. Im very curious as I have Fanatec gear and would like to know if I can throw it all away in a couple of years 😂
Honestly I wouldn’t recommend that. The TS-XW is very compatible to this, and I remember it feeling more powerful too. The difference won’t be as noticeable as you’d expect
I have around 600 ( i can top it up to 650 if really needed) bucks and im currently thinking about Moza R5 or Fanatec 5nm wich i later upgrade it to 8nm, wich should i get? also i had an logitech G920 for almost a 1 year so im guessing both Moza and Fanatec would be a massive upgrade cause of Direct Drive and not gear driven like in logi, can someone suggest / help me wich is better for me? also i heard back in 2022 that fanatec is on top is this really true? i heard them goin bankrupt
As a die hard fan of racing genre, My dream of becoming a racing driver will never be successful because of Indian Parents mentality, And the main part of it is that racing is quite expensive, So few months back i found out about Sim racing and all, I wanna enter Sim racing as its 1000x cheaper than the actual Motorsports but it still expensive, Im 18 y/o My main Sims are Assetto Corsa Competizone, Assetto Corsa and iRacing, Sometimes F1 23/24, I don't have enough money right now except I have a GTX 1650 laptop and a smart TV, I saved some money and that is just 34,500INR ($450).... Im going to University next year (i.e 4 years) Soooooooo, Coming to the main point Should i start sim racing from buying Logi G29/ T300 Alcantara right now and Save some money while im in UNI(4years+2years) and buy a Fully Sim racing rig after 6-7 years? Or i should just wait except buying a G29 and save that 30k($450) from buying g29 and just buy a fully sim rig (upto $1000)(moza only, cuz its the only sim racing brand avail in India) after 3 years????? I hope you reply A guidance is indeed for a good future .... Thank you
I just bought a next level racing 2.0 wheelstand for $329AUD, it can be upgraded to a full cockpit via the seat available. But it's a very strong stand and super heavy, I love it. Using it with a pc chair and there's a tray to sit your seat wheels in so you don't slide back.
On RUclips, what usually happens is that shorts viewers tend to only watch shorts, and long form watchers tend to only watch long form. As such, adding both to a single channel often leads to what’s called a “split viewership” which is terrible for a channel for many reasons. For example, imagine a short went viral and I gained 20k subscribers. It’s very likely that those 20k subs only care about my shorts and not long form videos, and as such, my long form videos get less views, a worse click through ratio on the subscribers feed, etc. There’s a lot more that I’m too lazy to explain but that’s the main idea. Hopefully that makes sense?
@@jekaufo Go see the other reviews, some point out the fact that the t300 gives more feeling than this base.... and that's normal, it is more powerful.
Hey OC, I know this isn’t a how to fix video but I recently bought a MOZA R3 for my Xbox and the first 2 days it worked fine but today I went to boot it up and as soon as I got into a race on any of my games it swapped to pc mode. But when I leave the race or exit the game it switches back. Any advice ???
I can feel more refined detail from it. Bumps, road texture, kerbs and all of that are a lot more noticeable and realistic. The T300 can give more resistance though, it feels slightly more punchy than this.

The kit for PC and Xbox costs 479.85 dollars and it does not include the support to fix the motor base... so no, it is more expensive
@@THESHADOW97139 I didn't say anything about Xbox. OC also wasn't playing with it on Xbox and most people buy R3 for PC
@@zdendas13
I know well 😉, but the problem is that r3 is compatible with PC and Xbox.... you have to compare it to a similar product.
@@THESHADOW97139 Well then for 480euro It's still more worth it, bcs of the upgradability
Can you review the PXN V12 DDS? I heard good things about it and and thought you could give it a try since people keep trash talking about them.
That boy always got some clean pumas in the video
Where did you buy and customize those gloves?
so tell me something.... This works with ps5? or you need a converter? also would R5 be better? for xbox or ps5? with a converter?
I just want to be quicker on f1 24 would this be a good wheel for that?
8:32 bro forgot about the cammus c5
Doesn't work on console sadly
here in ph the r3 is just similarly priced with the logitech g923, the r3 being ₱22,995.00 and the g923 being ₱22,811.00 so which is the better value?
r3 all the way, it's not even comparable to the g923, it just surpasses it in every way in terms of quality.
What about the Moza shifter works in xbox series x with the R3 Bundle??
Ordered one yesterday, it will be replacing a Logitech MOMO.
CSL DD is $399 and infinitely better, as you mentioned, world of difference.
399 yes, but table clamp +30 or 50 bucks i dont remember, also the QR2 Lite is shit so you need at least QR2 (Quick Relase) wich also adds upp 50 bucks or something, ohh yes you can upgrade it to 8nm with 100+ bucks, atleast moza didnt went into bankrupt
probably gonna save for a r5 instead since i need my wheel to spin fast for drifting
How much of a step up would it be from my thrustmaster TX with the all metal pedals and the shifter to the R3
Isnt the wheel what unlocks xbox compatibility 🤔
Are all the moza wheels compatible with all the moza wheel bases? And are all moza bundles compatible with xbox?
should i upgrade to that i have broken hori racing apex
Does it work with ACC? Only reason I would buy this for Xbox.
sadly not, yet.
@mArvAlcao71 dang, I'm hoping they add it. That would be a huge win for this wheel bundle.
That's what I'm waiting for. ACC is the biggest sim racing game on xbox and it's not supported on a sim racing wheel for xbox? Very odd
@@jname9368 agree 110% I'm sure they'll get their stuff together and add it
Lol. It looks like they just took the back off of the R5. I do love my R5 but I wish I picked up the R9 or 12. Might be a great starter for my son if he starts showing interest.
Dont see a reason to buy a 3nm DD. At least 5, preferably 8nm are required for a somewhat realistic feel when it comes to detail.
it's 3.9Nm
i think anyone who owns a G920 or G923 for them its a massive upgrade considering that DD is the best "realistic wheel base" right?
Hey! fantastic review, but what are your thoughts on fanatec being bought out by corsair and potentially increasing prices or cutting corners to maximize profit?
Honestly, I don't think it's fair to assume that. At the end of the day, only time will tell what happens. Do I think it's for the better or for the worst? I honestly don't know.. I could make good points for both sides. Either way, what happens, happens.
@@OCRacingI feel the same. To much unknown at this moment and speculation. We will need to wait and see what the future brings. Im very curious as I have Fanatec gear and would like to know if I can throw it all away in a couple of years 😂
Can i buy only the wheel base?
I wont to buy the moza wheel base and weel but can i juse the logitech padals and sifther with it?
I'm not getting into sim racing I'm getting into sim trucking would this bundle be good for sim trucking?
yes, they also sell table clamp for trucks and a truck wheel
The base looks like the X Box logo
In xsx, I want to change my ts-xw to Moza R3. It is DD !
Honestly I wouldn’t recommend that. The TS-XW is very compatible to this, and I remember it feeling more powerful too. The difference won’t be as noticeable as you’d expect
i have a question could i use the r3 moza wheel and wheel base and have thrustmaster t3pa pedals?
Yes but you need an adapter from the pedals to USB
@ yeah okay thanks
Can you use any other Moza wheel with the DD wheel base on Xbox? Or does the wheel have to be Xbox compatible
Is the moza r5 bundle good for drifting and f1 racing?
yes
@@chriswolf8980 thx for the help
Hello good video , is the ks add on wheel any good on the r3 ? Thanks
Hi, yes it’s okay. It’s not too heavy so I didn’t feel a big downgrade when it came to the force felt
What about compared to t300rs? Because where I live both are equal as price. (PC user only)
the r3 is weaker than t300rs so the only advantage is the r3 being a dd instead of belt driven
@saiko953 that's what I know, which is why I'm wondering really. Is DD worth the less power
We need a PlayStation bundle🤔🙋🍻👊👍
That would be killer. Definitely can’t imagine that Sony licensing being cheap though 🫣
Should i buy addons for the r3 on xbox or buy a ks wheel on the r3 base and use a drive hub for xbox?
Im going to University next year (i.e 4 years) Soooooooo, Coming to the main point
Should i start sim racing from buying Logi G29/ T300 Alcantara right now and Save some money while im in UNI(4years+2years) and buy a Fully Sim racing rig after 6-7 years? Or i should just wait except buying a G29 and save that 30k($450) from buying g29 and just buy a fully sim rig (upto $1000)(moza only, cuz its the only sim racing brand avail in India) after 3 years????? I hope you reply
A guidance is indeed for a good future ....
Thank you
What sub $500 racing cockpit is compatible with this?
I just bought a next level racing 2.0 wheelstand for $329AUD, it can be upgraded to a full cockpit via the seat available. But it's a very strong stand and super heavy, I love it. Using it with a pc chair and there's a tray to sit your seat wheels in so you don't slide back.
Why did you feel the need to create another channel just for shorts? Why not use the main channel?
He may get dead subscribers from shorts
Do you think that its better or worse than the t300?
A bit worse for me, as well as on other reviews
Ofc better
@@jekaufo Go see the other reviews, some point out the fact that the t300 gives more feeling than this base.... and that's normal, it is more powerful.
Hey OC, I know this isn’t a how to fix video but I recently bought a MOZA R3 for my Xbox and the first 2 days it worked fine but today I went to boot it up and as soon as I got into a race on any of my games it swapped to pc mode. But when I leave the race or exit the game it switches back. Any advice ???
U solved it?
would the es formula wheel work on the R3 on xbox?
Does this feel better than the t300rs
I can feel more refined detail from it. Bumps, road texture, kerbs and all of that are a lot more noticeable and realistic. The T300 can give more resistance though, it feels slightly more punchy than this.
no.
can you make a comparrisson of moza r3 and pxn v12 lite ?
6:19 why do you use the old ferrari 488 gt3 evo?
makes better noises
@@OCRacing haha ok
