@5dstrix absolutely not. How on earth would the t300 win? My buddy had a TX and he sold it and got the r3. He says its a huge improvement on road texture, detail and return to centre. There is no way a belt driven base beats a direct drive at the same power output.
@@5dstrix R3 is a lot better than the T300. I went from a G29 to a T300, and now an R5 and it's a different world. I generally use it at 65% power (3.3nm approx), I don't need the 5.5nm, especially if I'm going to play sessions of more than 2 hours.
Crew Motorfest supports the Logitech G29 really well. I set the rotation to 180 deg to make it more responsive but set the steering linearity to a more scooped profile to reduce the notchiness. Zero dead zone.
In the very entry level price range, in my opinion Logitech is unbeatable. Yes it is a bit clicky and rattles quite a bit, but for understanding whether you like Sim Racing or not, the G920, 29, 923 wheels are a perfect start. From my experience, they are also rock solid. You might also pick one up from ebay for just some bucks. Moza is still a bit of a niche. If I would go for one, I'd definitely pick at least one higher series. The R3 might be a good wheel, direct drive and all, but is dead money, because no one will ever look for it for no reason in the used market. Plus, if you stay with sim racing and once you learn about all the details in racing and stuff that brings you closer to the top split, you very soon want to upgrade to a better wheel anyway.
The worst part is that everyone says that about the R5 as well. "Oh, damn, I should've gotten an R9 instead". For me personally, if you're absolutely dead set on getting serious about racing, then buy the best of the best. But if you're new but still want something actually good, an R3 is perfectly enough. I've had the Logitech g923 for a couple of years now. Just ordered the Moza R3 Xbox bundle yesterday. I've never used a direct drive so I'm pretty stoked. (Xbox only racer, mainly WRC and Motorsport racing) I've enjoyed using the Logitech a lot and plan on passing it down. The pedals are great. I swapped the clutch and accelerator springs. The brake pedal takes a long while to break in but it's a good brake pedal.
In my case, I got the g923. But it's only because I wanted the playseat challenge X g edition, which isn't compatible with moza unless you mod it. The stock pedals of the g923 also feel great and I heard you need to upgrade the moza one for it to be good enough.
I have a 923. It's okay until the potentiometers in the pedals get dirty and then they suck. It's a huge pain to tear it all apart to clean them and not pinch a wire or two, but if you don't you'll have tons of pedal problems and you can't go fast because the throttle bounces below 100% and the brakes come on on straights. Extremely frustrating. Also, the 923 doesn't work with PC2 or Assetto Corsa on the PS5. I haven't tried it on other games because why. They'll get you into it but then they'll get in your way.
I’ve been using g923 for a year now. B/S on GT7 so not great but you lose feeling and clicks causes wheel to jump a bit. Also gt7 you need to reset full lock or it’s like driving a bus and you can work better on tighter areas like chicanes.
Just an FYI The G923 is available for £269 from a lot of UK retailers. That £130 (ish) price difference may make a difference for people buying their first wheel. But these comparisons are good videos. Just think the actual available prices should be used not the old RRP
Btw Is the Moza wheel huge or the G923 wheel small?Btw there are so many quick drivers on g29/923 I suppose you adapt to whatever you have to work with .
I had a Logitech Driving Force wheel and pedal set (gear nd belt driven) for GT5 on my PS3, it was a huge step up from using a controller. The force feedback was alright, but my family hated it, because the wheel was so damn noisy. I am currently using a Moza R5 set, and it is miles and miles above in terms of the feel of the road and car through the FFB, the smoothness of motion, and it is so quiet that there is no comparison. The Logitech FFB pushed stronger, but the Moza FFB is much more nuanced. The Moza R3 set is so affordable, there seems no reason to settle for less than a direct drive set. The pedals with most starter direct drive bundles are pretty basic. Logitech are well known for excellent customer service and support, Moza would do well to emulate this instead of following the footsteps of the customer abusing and ignoring Fanatec.
@@adamlangwell1963 not the whole ecosystem. Whatever base will need the connections for the pedals, shifter, dash, handbrake, etc. Because you can only connect 1 peripheral to the xbox at a time. The r3 has ports for all of them on the back. Not all moza bases do.

Then as a separate question, if the R9 is substantial why not just do the R12 since the price just from R3/R5 is significant?

I see something here for a long time, which is that how can you say that a DD is at the level with strap ruffles, it doesn't have any logic and then that a g29 or whatever is from Logitech has half the strength with the most small DDs that are 4 nm I think this comparison is good for those who are starting out but I don't see that the DD is worse in any case it should be like this is how to compare the tspc with a fanatec DD 8nm makes no sense and when you try it on PC you will be amazed at the changes from a belt steering wheel to a DD
I really wanted to get something just above the g29 but I don't think I need insane NM of force feedback. I am looking in the 9nm bundle but sadly fanatec only has the gt bundle
Moza R3 is a very good wheel with big failure in PC. Games dont support the buttons for navigate menu, settings, etc...And the official Xbox product butdont support Gamepass Forza games, only steam version.
Expected R3 to walk all over the logitec. Got the G920 and the clunking is #"!. BUT, quality wise it works .. for ever. Had to replace a pot meter on the brake pedal, thats the only thing. You should also include pc gamers. Logitec G-hub is trash, I'm using the older "logitec gaming software" witch actually works. No clue about the software for moza
The price between these two wheels in New Zealand is big! Logitech bundle is $449~$499 and the Moza bundle is $799 so not a good apples to apples comparison. And if the Moza system is better - Then it should be as its $300~$350 dollars more expensive.

Not to mention availability and distribution. Logitech is available almost everywhere. From the third world countries to the European union. You can easily find and buy Logitech. Can't say the same thing for Moza.
There are people who don't want to spend even though they can afford it, lol. Like me, who is just getting started. I don't know if I'll enjoy this hobby long term so I just looking for a budget option to get me started.

Moza r3 is absolutely working on f124 xbox btw. Not sure when you filmed this video? But its been about 2 weeks since its been supported.

If my g920 dies I will probably look into getting a C12 because of the ability to fit a proper wheel rim to it.

Could you use an r5 or an r9 base on Xbox if you use the wheel that comes with the r3?
Yes you can. That’s my upgrade path. Starting with r3 and eventually getting the r5 base.
I've tried the R3 and the R5 and I think the R3 is more than good enough as a R5 alternative. Might be R9 before you see a substantial difference!

Moza shifters and hanbrakes arent supported by xbox games like FH5. Only few games support it (dirt rally 2.0 and wrc8) its a shame
