love love LOVE the sound of DADGAD tuning..you play beautifully
Thank you 😊
Absolutely astounding playing.🤩👍
Thank you Alastair 🙂
P.S. l was amazed!!!! I listened to it as Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance (Their show in London in 1994.The music and the Irish dances were great!!!) I adore the Irish culture , interested in history of the country and ,of course, the Irish people ...Thank you very much for the pleasure you give us when we listen to your guitar playing, dear Jean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just don't understand how such a nonsense of human who doesn't even know how to write the word accord, can come here and dislike years of Training and passion like yours. Respect, sounds very nice and go forward
Love it !
Love your playing as a fiddler I truly love your cut triplet !
That's very nice, thank you Denis 😊
@@irishguitar it is a pleasure you are an inspiration for me I want to learn more Celtic Dadgad pieces. I have just subscribed
Excellent! I've just bought the tab for this from Jean.
Great quality transcription. A bargain at only £2.70. Thanks Jean.
You're welcome 😁
@Jean Banwarth how do I purchase the tab please
I love the soung of this guitar !
I think you might mean the Player
Great! Hit me right in the heart. Almost like it was my heritage.
Very nice, thank you !
Same here man. Music is an international language, doesn't really matters where you re from. If it hits you deep in your soul that's who you really are. I love celtic and slavic folk music more than my country's folk. I can't say I m Irish or Slav of course, but I have a close connection to these cultures that I don't necessarily have with mine.
You know when it "speaks" to you.
I am Irish and this is my heritage, but it is also a gift to whoever is moved by it. Music is waiting to brighten the heart and lighten the load for everyone who embraces it, especially in these troubled times.
It was great,Jean!!!, You are such a talanted man!!!!!! Thank you for your playing!!!
at 1:10 this cat went straight blues and sahelian ali farka toure style but only in an Irish theme.mad respect.
Stunning
Thank you 😊
Challenge accepted! Irish abroad in Japan for too long and need to get back in touch with the sounds and sense of Irishness.
This song is burned into my brain. I listen to it over and over. I'm not sure what the little shutters you do are called but I love them. Your guitar sounds amazing.
Very nice, thank you :-)
@Zacariah Anderson I was referring to the alternate picking style staccato thumb part
@@thomdushane stephen wake does some similar fast little things. sounds soo cool.

What made you desire to enjoy and play Irish fingerstyle guitar? It's absolutely , awesome. This is what I call ' classical ' guitar. It probably isn't the proper term. But if I didn't know it was Irish fingerstyle , Celtic ... I just say fingerstyle classical.

Love it, im trying to get better at celtic flavor, i keep reverting back to somewhere between flamenco & classical, just cant shake it.
Superb composition and interpretation, congratulations Jean.

God I wish I could do this but apart from the skill deficit it's so hard to find tutorials online.
Thank you 😊 This tune is in Vol.3 : jeanbanwarth.bandcamp.com/merch
@irishguitar cheers. I'll look for something on the Fingerstyle itself first, Looks like a mix of Travis picking and classical style. Looks tough.
where could I find a tab to learn how to play this song?

Do you sell your two Irish Fingerpicking Guitar Volumes in pdf as well as book form?
No, sorry. Only Vol. 3...
Is there the Classic notation too or only the Tab? Thanks
Wonderful playing and arrangement! Amazing talent and very inspiring. May I ask what guitar you are using?
Thank you :-) On this video, I play a Lowden O23.
What mic are you using ? Sounds great !
i'm searching for something like that to record, and play live.
I was wondering if that was a Lowden. The cedar top and banding are a giveaway, but I haven't seen that pick guard before. My old S22 has a clear guard which I believe was the way of things in the earlier bodies. It keeps the lines clean, but there's a tendency for it to lift a bit at the edges.
id love to learn how to play this

@@irishguitar Cool! Look out for an e mail from Viking Dan :-)
I love your playing and arrangement! Can I try it on my youtube channel???
Great tune and even greater playing, thank you so much. I am sitting and practicing this on my own with quite some success. By the way for me it is much easier to use the thumb on lower D string at second 25 of the video. May I ask you about how do you call the technique to play one string very quickly three times beginning at second 34? Heard this only from Dick Gaughan so far. Is there any chance to learn from you how to play this trick? Thanks ...
That's thumb's triplets:-)
OK, you play them with your thumb only? Doesn't sound easy to me but I'll try. Thanks!
I've just been asking the same question... Jean seems to use the thumb/index/thumb but I've seen others use A/M/I of the right hand on one string. Which seems easier on the lower pitched strings but I find quite tricky to get smooth on the top string.
No, I never use thumb/index/thumb... I use AMI on high strings (GAD) and thumb only, down/up/down, on the 3 bass strings (DAD). Thumb triplets are tricky but sound better on low strings. For some tunes, I can use AMI triplets on low strings because I find it easier to play at high tempo.
And you're using just the thumbnail forthe thumb triplets (none of the finger pad)?
awesome man
where can i gt the tabs

beautiful picking, man ! By the way can you tell me which mic you're using ? Does it prones to feedback on stages ? Thanks
Thanks. The mic is a DPA 4099. With this mic, feedback is a big trouble on stage without a good sound engineer. But the sound is great.
That's what I was guessing, everytime the sound of an acoustic guitar is great, it generates feedback issues. I use an Aura Fishman, very good sounding, no piezo quack but needs a good Eq ! Thanks anyway for answering
hi.nice song.wich microphone and programa do you use?
Knows about the dvote DPA mic....ha.
amazing!!
