    (Movie spoiler alert) In case anyone's wondering, the title is a reference to the ending of Terminator 1, where that Mexican guy says to Sarah Conner "a storm is coming" as she's near the Mexican boarder and preparing to go into hiding while she awaits judgment day, and she responds saying "I know."
    Somehow that ending really always stuck with me. Man the 80's and 90's were such a great time to grow up watching movies like that lol!

      @@thebigmammoo I'll post the list later today probably on Twitter in case you're interested! Burn down the house is definitely better than Storm's Wrath in Pioneer though. 5 is much better than 4 in Pioneer, and the option to make devils is very nice too.

    Been playing a variant of your 4x Mirrex list in Standard with Bandit's Haul instead of Mazemind Tome and some 1-of Legendary Artifacts instead of Cleansing Wildfire. It's really fun grinding out value with Nahiri's and Torch the Witness, and then Buzzcrushing the greedy 3-color decks G2.

    • @Magic_M_Hayashi
      @Magic_M_Hayashi  7 месяцев назад +1

      Bandit's haul actually looks really neat. While a part of me wishes it was 2 mana so it would compare more favorably to Mazemind Tome, the other side of me is now wondering how this might do in a new Obosh build?
      Congrats on successfully porting the deck to standard, and thanks for letting me know about a cool card I overlooked before!

    You got to play Magda, The Hoardmaster in your mono red 8fields deck. Can try Collector's Vault eith Daredevil loop to draw cards and also loop treasures! Synergistic deck.

    • @Magic_M_Hayashi
      @Magic_M_Hayashi  8 месяцев назад

      Yes it's something I want to at some point.
      Honestly though I had to do a LOT of tinkering with the main deck to where I could start consistently winning, but I think I'm finally there. Hoardmaster requires taking the deck in a bit of a different direction, so I might turn to that after I get a few trophies with the main version under my belt, but I also might just say "screw it" and try going in a totally different direction ahead of schedule if I just can't break through with the traditional approach!

      @azlimajid2900 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@Magic_M_Hayashi Not much to tinker from the main 8Fields deck. Just the Collector's Vault and Daredevil I feel would be synergistic with Magda.

    • @Magic_M_Hayashi

      @@azlimajid2900 In theory I agree, but in practice, I've found that even changing just 8 cards, let alone 12 (assuming full play sets which to be fair, is justified here I think because this would become a main focus of the deck), causes a cascading effect of needing to reevaluate other card choices.
      That said, A) just because that often happens doesn't mean it will here, and B) it could be totally worth it regardless, hence I will absolutely not dismiss this as a viable plan (I am curious if you've been able to test it yet just to get a feel) until I test it.
      For me, this was my experience trying Goblin Engineer together with Phyrexian Dragon Engine. To be fair, it wasn't half bad, but it just turned out to require too many changes to other parts of the deck that I felt were doing more work in the meta at the time. That could be the case here, but it might not, we'll just have to see!

    Id really love to see you explore some more mono blue decks in your style in various formats. Blue just seems like it has it so much easier since it can just counter all these high card advantage cards. And even have endless threats with reshuffle narset cheese like with commit to memory, tho maybe that’s just a meme for my kitchen table.
    Regardless I love seeing all your decks (in all colors!) in the 4of mhyashi style and being able to make them work in all formats across colors is so cool. Your brews are always so unique and unexplored concepts and you’re the only one doing them and it’s so great to see. Thanks for all the videos!!!

    • @RandomCommenter955
      @RandomCommenter955 8 месяцев назад +2

      Oh and for the commit to memory narset cheese thing. Idk if it’s good but commit is just a versatile card I enjoy. It is 4 mana but it basically memory lapses a spell 2 down (even if uncounterable ofc) and can also do it to a perm. So it’s super cool! And then memory just sitting in the graveyard is nice bc any unanswered narset can just become a one sided days undoing and wipe the opponents hand and graveyard.
      I’ve been experimenting with a blue deck like that at my kitchen table. 4 narsets, some commit to memories and other stuff. For formats like this I’ve been theorizing on 4 shark typhoon since that blocker draw is just great control and in a long grind mono blue game just hard casting typhoon seems like a really strong top end.
      Tho I’m a novice at your style of deck building and deck building in general so I’m not exactly sure how to do the deck without azorious control just being better with the incubate wrath and teferis and wanderers and whatnot.
      But that’s the coolness of your style! Brewing until you find something that works, is unique, and can beat even those multi colored mythic only broken decks and still out grind them, even in mono red! So yeah. Anyways youre a huge inspiration to me and I appreciate all the content :3

    I see you're using Torch the Witness for removal. Is the clue that important? There's a new card called Hell to Pay where the excess damage turns into treasures.

    • @Magic_M_Hayashi
      @Magic_M_Hayashi  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, but it's not actually the clue that makes Torch the Witness so good in my opinion.
      It's the fact that it does double X damage.
      The clue is just icing on the cake, and actually, it is very very sweet icing.
      But the double damage allows me to consistently remove virtually ANY threat Pioneer throws at me, which is just too invaluable to pass up IMO.
      Honestly it's only sin IMO is it can't hit Plainswalkers, but thankfully Pioneer still plays way more creatures than Plainswalkers so it's not too big of a deal.

      It's an interesting card, but the way the deck is built, I think it will also lock us out, but there could be other ways to build of course.
