Very good addition of Mono Red 8fields deck. Sundering Eruption. Its a MDFC uncommon bolt land that enters untapped and destroys "target land" on the flip side. Hope to see the video soon!!!
Thanks for continuing to try different configurations of the deck. I have a crazy work schedule so I unable to get any paper play right now to do any testing. So I appreciate your efforts.
@@Magic_M_Hayashi Also at the end when you talk about Fury, when it comes to the Fury ban I feel the same way. All the other decks keep their elemental and we don't. I'm still hurting from losing fury. The deck felt so good during that time. With just the right amount of power, without it being busted. The deck felt like it had a chance against every deck at that time.
Great video! Proper sideboard hate against Domain Aggro comes in MH3 - Null Elemental Blast. Its for one colorless: destroy a multicolored permanent or counter multicolored spell. It might probably be even worth main decking (depending on meta after mh3 release...) - worst case it is one mana destroy a land. Also Galvanic Discharge + Solar Transformer + Unstable Amulet seem like a really good value together. (Also Sundering Eruption which someone already mentioned). Mono Red Midrange is going to be new meta IMO.
I think mirrex really helps you play a splash. What are some colors you could splash and for what cards? I was thinking something like Questing Druid. What are your thoughts?
I already tried a light green Splash, both with Mirrex and with Copperline Gorge. Ultimately, the splash just wasn't better than the cards I'm already playing. Yes, believe it or not, Mazemind Tome has been better than Questing Druid. I know, it's shocking, but I just found myself winning more with this configuration
@@charliewilliams3714 Well there's Blossoming Calm, and soon to be Orim's Chant. It's not that there aren't good SB cards in other colors, it's that so many really good SB cards are colorless, like volatile fault (if not played main, for extra tron hate), or Unlicensed Hearse, or Relic, or Stone of Erech, or the Stone Brain, or Chalice of the Void, you name it. What this ends up doing for me in the end is just feeling like having to devote a few slots, even if not many, to either basics or check lands or something just doesn't make it worth it because we end up losing valuable deck space for not necessarily that much better options ultimately.
Not sure, I checked to see if I could find one of our games in the past we had with each other on his RUclips Channel, but couldn't find it. I think someone else here mentioned they saw it streamed, but not sure he saved it to RUclips. Not sure how Twitch works either and whether it's possible to see old footage on Twitch. He was playing a weenie deck very similar to match 1 in this league with that new hideaway card, but it plays only 1 basic I think and also all the creatures are very small so it felt kind of like a tailor made good matchup for this deck, but could be very sweet in other matchups.
Thanks, glad you like it! Spyro simply put is more bodies and is straight up more cards. The reason Scam doesn't play it is they're more vulnerable to Bowmasters, but with Seal, Bolt, and Unholy Heat, we've got Bowmasters covered!
No Bone Crushers presently. Through a lot of trial and error, I find myself settling on Seal of Fire, since it's so darn good on the play against Rakdos Scam, like difference between winning and losing good.
Always love seeing Creativity when i am on any Field List. People can't really be this greedy with their Manabases, right? Kinda sadly for us, MH3 will probably Change a lot of Moderns Manabases to be playing more Basics. But my current Motto is: When my deck is Bad, Modern is Healing. xD
We'll see, I'm not necessarily sold that Winter Moon is that much better than Blood Moon, obviously other than being able to be played by any color deck. But if people return to playing a lot of basics, I think we can just side 4 Fields into the SB and only side in fields 5-8 in the matchups where they are devastating. This deck actually doesn't go all in on the strip mine plan g1 as is, and being able to play Spikefield Hazard, Shatterskull Smashing, Valakut Awakening, or any of the many other excellent Red utility lands again might even make us better because we won't lose to color screw as much. Maybe that's just wishful thinking though. MH2 completely obliterated Obosh Prowess, but I ended up finding a way to adapt, I am cautiously optimistic I can adapt again. That said, Obosh Prowess really was the glory days for my deck building, and things didn't really get better from there, but that's just how it is sometimes, and as long as I win more than I lose, I try not to be greedy and expect to be able to be trophy leader every time.
games start 30:00 deck tech was gnarly dude
Thanks for helping other viewers with that, I'm pinning this, and glad you liked it!
@@Magic_M_Hayashi actual factual great deck guide, keep it up!

Thanks, yes I also saw that on Twitter, seems like a card tailor-made for this deck!

@@Waka817 yea, especially living end. Binning Fury proactively actually made that a good matchup.
Good thing living end got a key card banned itself
yo mhayashi man, saw your gameplay in other streamers videos (Spike and Dingo), dope deckbuilding man, much love and respect
keep it up, man!
Thanks!
Good stuff! Epic 30 minute deck tech.

that blast zone was brutal, sick games though. I know ive done that more than once on mtgo
