How do you always know what I need? These exercises are even more important now as gas prices are soaring. More people are going to be walking, hiking and riding bikes. Thanks 😊
Thank you so much for helping me figure out how to get stronger after a prolonged illness left me weak as a kitten. I'm 64, and I can barely climb or go down stairs, can't get up off the floor anymore, and I can't kneel on my knees without feeling like crying. It's hard to get motivated when you don't know where to start, and this gave me a good starting point. I can modify the floorwork by doing some of them in my bed for now. But I'm not going to quit! I am determined to get up off the floor easily as soon as possible.
@@Uprighthealth Yes sir! :-) I'm a veteran, and I still say that when I get an order that I like! That's exactly what I'm doing! Thanks again for the motivation!
@@denacollins352 thank you for the encouragement! I'm slowly getting stronger. Still can't get up off the floor, but my squats are a bit deeper now, and my knees hurt less. :-)
A spinal injury took me off my beloved mountains almost 10 years ago. My entire left side, leg, calves, hamstrings and feet have atrophied muscles. Walking is difficult and exhausting. I have a permanent limp. Since watching your videos, and faithfully doing the exercises you show, I’m gaining a bit of strength and hope. I appreciate you!!!!🙏🏼❤️
@@Uprighthealth I'm grateful for your help in getting my late in life mobility back. I'm learning so much. Especially being patient with myself. ~peace
Thank you for the exercises for stairs. I also feel burning in my hips when walking any distance. I admit I'm,overweight, old, and of shape. But I can improve!
@@Uprighthealth Hello Mr. Upright sir. I just found you recently with the slav squat videos! I am trying to start getting in shape as I had open heart surgery a couple years ago. I'm 38, 5'9" and 230 lbs. Yikes. I also have spinal stenosis in my lower back that makes it feel like concrete sometimes. How would I BEGIN to get my body in shape? Would an elliptical or exercise bike be better? Sorry for the long message and I hope for a reply. Thank you sir! 💕
I’ve been seeing a personal trainer but I got more out of this routine than the much more complicated PT routine. It’s something I’ve actually been able to implement on my own. Thanks so much!!
Seriously! on June1, I had just mentioned to a co-worker about how unprepared I feel for an upcoming trip to Glacier National Park and 5 minutes later, this popped up in my feed! 🤣
Hi there... 1st time on your page. This was amazing to watch, now to actually do it. I do some spinning but I've noticed, my knees and lower back is very sore. My form is correct as I'm always asking the instructor to watch me. Can you please show us some exercises in another video to assist myself and possibly others as well please. 🙏 ❤️
Hey, I own a horse and horse poop is not damaging to the trails, it's mostly just dried grass and does not need to be picked up as it will readily decompose and get blown away. Dog poop, or poop from any meat-eating species, is greasy, smelly, and slippery, and must be picked up or moved off the trail. That said, I really enjoy your videos and they have helped me to get back to riding my horse!
Great exercises! I always thought, that I've got strong leg muscles. But the calf - exercises single leg showed me: No totally different right and left leg. Thank you very much!
I got all motion sickness when your knees weren't under control. Thank goodness you continued to do the exercise so I don't get motion sickness. Thank you, Upright Health!
I’m a new subscriber!! Love your channel. You are an incredibly knowledgeable teacher .. and you have a great speaking voice. Thank you for sharing these videos to help people all over the globe! Matt, do you happen to have a video with a full body strengthening program that would be beneficial to do daily? 😀
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. I don't have pain at all, but I have muscle wasting from Grave's disease so the muscles in my legs are pretty weak. I can't get up from a squat without pushing off the floor or pulling myself up. I am determined to get stronger so thank you again!!❤
When I'm not accustomed to walking stairs at work, I use the handrail for stability so that my knee isn't off. After a couple of weeks, my strength is improved and I no longer need the handrail. If I increase the number of floors or have sore muscles, I use the handrail.
I have patellofemoral issues. My kneecaps don’t tract correctly. Stairs and uneven surfaces cause pain and swelling. The exercises you recommend make sense. PT wanted too much too soon.
Should I ever go to 3 reps? Also, can I substitute 20 lb Kettle Bell swing for the last wide squat or just add that to my workout? Thanks I love upright health!
Hi! Do you have tips on strengthening the legs for going down the steps of stairs? I find my left leg has a hard time flexing downwards to support my right leg down the steps
Same problem here with my left knee. I started doing the follow along knee exercie video and it's helping. I can notice the improvement😊 Thanks for posting these videos Matt.
Matt, your videos are AMAZING! I'm trying to recover from a leg/hip/groin injury. You are really helping me. While doing my 2nd round of these exercises, I heard your promise that you won't buy a horse to "mess up" the hiking trails. I burst out laughing because that's a real annoyance to me! All the trails near me have signs to pick up after your pets, but the horse people just don't do it! Let's face it; it's much easier to step over dog poo than the humongous piles that horses drop. The riders wouldn't even have to carry it; they could just tie their bags to the saddle. I don't even mind if you buy a horse to ride the trails as long as you pick up after it 😊.
I wonder who would care to do these incredibly boring exercises for more than a few weeks, when you can actually take a bike ride or walk on some stairs or hills outside in the fresh air while enjoying nature.
@@cynthiamccullough3718 Most of these exercises are much more difficult to practice than walking outside. My neighbors are a couple - both 93 years old, they take a slow walk outside everyday together but wouldnt stand a chance of doing most of these exercises. Maybe those exercises are for really old prisoners.

Do you have any ideas for hips and running?
Where can I find the step bench-ladder that you used in this video?

Is there anything at all to tie to -- or attach to -- possibly even a powerful strap -- our knee joint that helps one to climb stairs?
If we are working the Back Fix Program and our hips are weak can/should be do these exercises?
Got it

I only have a problem going downstairs..will this help or should i be working on my hamstrings more?
What is that blue thing in the background. I know what it looks like, but I don't know what it is. Thanks!
Thank you so much but I have an issue why can't I sit on the floor with my legs straight without anything supporting my back it's so frustrating 😣

I cannot plié properly… mainly because I cannot widen my legs enough.
It’s the down hill that creates the pain later.
