- Rare And Unique 1973 BMW 2002 Touring
With BMW 2002 being a rare car as it is, this one definitely stands out. 3 years in making and it's still not 100% finished. It's styling a wide body kit and full shadow line trim it's the owners pride and joy. Tony loves anything BMW, but his history is mainly with BMW e30's so taking on this project was a real challenge, but with strong determination and help from friends and 2002 forums he is more than happy with the end result. But he also gave us some hints about the future of this car. Can you guess it from the interview, what will be his next big modification for this car?

Thank you to Hand built cars for approaching me and taking the time to do the video and a massive thank you to all the great comments it makes building a car worth every minute and penny spent.Huge amount of respect to you all
Proper car but even more of a proper lad! Cheers
2002 are AWESOME and your Car is a piece of Art!
The metal fab alone is astronomical, to see the final results must be intensely satisfying, car restoration especially in one's garage truly is a labor of love.
I'm a BMW fan and did not know these existed! OUTSTANDING restoration! Thank you👍
Wow
These are amazing vehicles
Мастер золотые руки респект и уважение здоровья здоровья здоровья любви богатства благополучия процветания ИзобилияУспеха Счастья Радости Счастья Радости
I love how honest the owner is. Really truly an amazing build
I'm generally a muscle car fan , but this is gorgeous.
What an accomplishment! Respect your elders literally. This mans drive to create the dream really inspires me. I hope i can meet him and his work of art some day. This is living proof that anything is possible when you really want it!
Wow … what a beauty, all I would change would be the tire lettering
I miss my -72 2000 Touring. It was in BMW Inka colour. The spline from the gearbox to the driveshaft went once and I got a 2nd hand revised broken gearbox and replaced the broken shaft with the newer one. One of the coolest cars I have ever had and owned it from 1984-2005 when it was sold but scrapped by the new owner. Was rubbish in snow but with 10-15kg in the boot it made huge difference.
You have done an amazing job with your touring.
Really inspiring video. This just to show that with great care and love, even older car would still look stunning and amazing. Happy New Year everyone!
"i was on a private road" 😂 .. this bloke has done a top top job with this motor
What a beautiful build. Drove a modified 2002 from a friend back in 1980, it was a dangerous beast. The amount of fuel it used was insane, even for those days. But you could not drive it without having a big smile.
It was lethal if you didn't know how to drive one. Very few would be able to drive one of these as any mistake would punish you one way or another. The Touring was also shorter than a normal 02 but also lighter which did not help on wet roads. Yet I loved mine and the folding seats had a very simple and easy way to fold it flat.
@@VinDieselS70 what was lethal about it? Stock power levels don't seem crazy and it was a balanced chassis.. thus its success in racing
If I had all the money in the world I would just buy and restore old cars. Something about taking car of these beauties that's so satisfying. And as time goes by your collection just becomes even more unique.
Jesus that thing is clean AF
Super clean bmw 😎💯 German Look
Шикарный автомобиль!!!!!!!
Absolutely stunning!! Cant beat an old Bimmer
The amount of love went to this ride is amazing. Happy new year
Super lucky n happy owner
I like it!
FREAKING AWESOME JOB, WELL DONE!!!
WoW!! One word on this inspiring geeza & his car ... Awesome! Thanks for sharing :-)
Ooh going modern and not being German, my guess is, it could be a engine swap, may be Japanese, k20 engine from Honda or 2jz engine
02 Series was the original 3-Series. Gorgeous build.
Gorgeous job mate, happy new year from Australia
With out doubt the best looking 2002 I’ve seen and I’ve worked for Bmw for 30 years , love the colour and the bumperless look ,the attention to detail is amazing!!!
beautiful! i drove bimmers for 35yrs. & the '70 2002 was one of my favorites; very lowered, cams, header and dual 2-bbl weber sidedrafts. i added Tii brakes, a/c and a way overdone stereo w/subs. incredible driving fun but it looked nothing like this stallion. thank you for posting this!
Well done! 👏
Awesome car and video 💋💋💋
You absolutely smashed it Geezer 💎🤛🏿💯
yeah man very good job 💪👍
that e9 inspired front end is awesome

Beautiful car
Great video 👏👏👏
Incredible job
What a beauty...just great...regarding the engine hopefully he won't go with a honda engine...think a bmw would suit it better,e30 or e36 318is would be nice,still a 4pot
Brilliant mate🏴
Brilliant video guys 👏👏👏
This car is in pristine condition 😍🔥
I have only see one when I was in Italy. Didn't know they existed. Great looking car. What you have done has made it even better.
Good afternoon and Happy New Year to you and your family. That paint work is just beautiful. Really great shine and texture. I really enjoy the metal work and repair. Thanks again and take care and good luck.
Love a good beamer
Top man, top car!
Awesome ride, I spent 3 years restoring my 2002 coupe so I really appreciate the effort you’ve gone to, I wish that I ditched the M10 with the 4 speed, it was fantastic on drives under 80km/hr, but at 130km/h on the freeway it was screaming and wild, the grey paint is spot on and so is the bodywork… go for the Honda motor it seems like the best choice
Very tastefully done
Absolutely stunning. 😁👍
What a car and what a guy, seem’s an absolute diamond of a bloke 👏🏻
Kudos, stay thirsty my friend. It is your recreation, built it to your driver satisfaction.
Proper old skool motor for a proper old skool lad.

Very nice job! You don't see a thing in your mirrors, because they are jdm fender mirrors 😀
After all that hard work you got a fine car, good job.
Really brilliant video, didn't know how much work had gone into if Tony, be good to see maybe some photos of the build when at shows
Beautiful!
Beautiful
I think he is going with Honda engine in future, it's popular swap on 2002's
That’s really cool !
Amazing looking car FairPlay to the lad a lot of hard work to do that
I have one of these in my workshop, it will be restored in a couple of years time. Mine won’t be this cool, but definitely inspired by this video 👍
Very beautiful car.
Love the color scheme exterior/interior plus the overall restoration is fantastic m8!
Beautiful detailed old Beemer, amazing colour combination, and thank God you didn’t go all Turbo bonkers with the engine.
Amazing craftsmanship 👍💪

Absolutely exquisite work, needs proper premium tires imo, incredible car
Beautiful car. The front arch extensions are the only detail that could be better. A cool build!
The back end is butt ugly but it’s a 2002,and well I love BMW’s from this era. I’ve never seen a Touring before, they didn’t import them to the US. Amazing restoration. You sir are a magician! Beautiful job!👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Absolutely beautiful! 🤤
Beautiful car M8 great job in restoration money well spent very inspirational
Love it
Rear speakers ruin it !± But what an amazing guy and his build
Really Nice. 👌👌👍
Beautiful car.... Should go to 200kph..... No problem for sure.
Very very very nice car. Great work 👍
Well done mate. Really nice built
Beautiful , just a beautiful car!
Lovely motor! Well done for saving it!! It will be great to see what engine is chosen to replace the M10.
The M10B18 in E30 has a lot of 5 speeds that bolt up right on. You don't have to stay with the 4 speed
個人的にはモールやメッキバンパーがあった方が良いと思うけど、オーナーの個性があって思い入れが感じる🤭
excellent
nice whip
Absolut TOP !!! 👍👍👍
Beautiful build! I always lean more towards restoring to original, but this really speaks to me.
I really like the seats, anyone know what type? I’ve rewound quite a few times, but can’t make out what is said.
