  • AXP Racing and the new skid plate for the KTM 790 / 890 Adventure R / L

    Around 5.000 skid plates for the KTM 890 Adventure have been sold in the last few years! Even if the majority of our customers were happy with their engine guard, some of them asked for some modifications. And because it's important for us to keep a close relationship with our customer to always improve our products, we decided to ask you, on Facebook and Instagram, what would be the the skid plate of your dreams !
    We are glad to share the improvements and modifications that have been made on the 2024 edition of the KTM 790 and 890 Adventure R / L !
    Note that 2 versions of the skid plate are available:

    Environ 5.000 sabots pour la KTM 890 Adventure ont été vendus ces dernières années ! Et même si la majorité de nos clients sont satisfaits de leur protection, certains d'entre eux nous ont fait part de quelques améliorations à prévoir. Et parce qu'il est important pour nous de garder une relation étroite avec nos clients pour toujours améliorer nos produits, nous avons décidé de vous demander directement quel serait le sabot de vos rêves !
    Nous sommes donc très heureux de présenter les modifications qui ont été apportées sur l'édition 2024 des sabots KTM 790 et 890 Adventure R / L !

    I have very positive experience with AXP skid plates. Had one on my former Husqvarna701E for 14.000km of offroad, mainly TET. Now AXP fitted to my KTM500EXCF for more offroad riding, already 7.000km. Lots of scratches and scars underneath assess how efficient they are. I used to have an aluminum skid plate on an AfricaTwin CRF1000L : great advantage to the AXP: lighter, resist to knocks without permanent deformation, dampens engine noise resonance and stones hits. I do recommend AXP skid plates, well engineered, easy to fit 👍

    Super!
    Si vous faites une v2 pour la Norden 901 je suis client.... car effectivement je n avais pas’pris à l époque à cause de’la pompe à essence trop exposée.

      Une nouvelle version du sabot pour la Norden n'est pas prévue pour le moment, mais ne jamais dire jamais 😉

    did you addressed the most common point of failure which is the breakage in the "weld" joint in the tank area

      On this new version, the welds have been modified and reinforced. However, we cannot certify that the welds won’t break, it depends a lot on the impact. In this case, the aim of the skid plate is to protect the fuel tank 😉

    It's garbage, it broke on the first fall and AXP doesn't respond to my emails or offer any kind of warranty.

      Your first e-mail is from April, the 2 . You got an answer the same day from me (Xavier) . Now I received your photos and invoice copy so I will answer to you this week. You have the GEN 1 and this video is about GEN2 which take in count the drawbacks of the GEN1 to transform in advantage on GEN2. As you haveGEN1, thank you to not have a garbage reaction on a different product you didn't use and offer us a bit of your patience, you're not alone and you'll have an answer + solution like all customers :)
