"Versatile"? As in it is bad outside of execute range, doesn't have any good unique group buffs, and isn't suited for using any group support sets, so its one role is parse dps, where it's outdamaged by DK and Arcanist? It is the completely selfish dps (other than providing the Purify synergy). Due to having all the dps transferred to beam, and Purify being its one unique group utility (and being extremely survivable, in the few cases where that matters, like dungeon hard modes), you only ever "want" one templar, with more lowering each other's dps, due to the faster execute. More beams making execute go faster means less total beam time, means less dps. Maybe if an execute phase is particularly scary, you could stand to take 2.

Haha yeah it's strong right now xD I actually jump at the chance to use something else (see my Stamina Templar and both Arcanists, and pretty much ALL my Stamina builds from U37) but I've tested SO many setups and right now 2H back bar is just the best default for a lot of damage classes. And I wouldn't think much of a DPS guide that recommended lower damage for no reason.
I have bahsei instead of relequin and i dont have the mythic. Im using zaans. Im getting a 87k parse. Do u think those 2 differences justify why im missing roughly 40k dps?
The Mythic doesn’t matter so much, but using Light Armor is a big damage loss here since it’s giving you stats you don’t need (obviously if you DO need more penetration and Magicka Recovery in content, then the picture changes). Yeah sure! It's not as much single target DPS but will still work fine. It's also nice to have 1 x Medium and 1 x Light armor set so you can optimise the ratio for difference groups/encounters.
Which is the correct way to weave on swapping? Ability -> light attack -> swap -> ability OR ability -> swap -> light attack -> ability? Also, about the stamina recovery, using this set/enchants will you not fell lack of stamina? I mean, since your stam recovery is low compared to the amount of stamina abilities which is been used? Just asking, i'm still trying to understand how to build/parse correctly. Thank you really much!
Sustain can be rough if the fight goes on too long, but with all that Medium Armor it should be fine unless you need to block a lot. For those fights you can use a destro back bar and hope your Magicka Recovery holds up. Sustain should always be easier in content (assuming your supports are doing their job). Always weave like this: Light Attack > Ability …. Light Attack > Ability. Press them almost simultaneously, then wait a second, then press the next LA + Ability as close together as you can. That gives you plenty of time to bar swap between one combo and the next. Try to avoid swapping after Puncturing Sweep because you’ll interrupt the channel and lose damage ticks. But if you HAVE to swap after a channel, then do Light Attack > Ability ….. Light Attack > Swap > Ability just in that case.
Hey there! You wanna use Blockade of Fire instead of Stampede, and instead of Carve I guess you have a few options. You can use Elemental Susceptibility, Inner Light or just move something from the front bar to fill the spot. Up to you.
would there be a way i can somehow turn this into a viable one bar build ? i saw a guy using a build very similar to this but it was a one bar, he was doing about 97k on a dummy. i think he was using deadly strike set and relequen. if something like this is possible, id love a guide. i wanna make a strong templar, but dont want to have to worry about bar swapping, also he was a magplar but he used daggers.
Hey there! I suppose if you ditch the Ur-Mage Mythic and replace it with Oakensoul - that could work if you’re playing pretty casually. But if you want to play in more organised groups I wouldn’t recommend a one-bar setup. Bar swapping is probably much easier than you think! Either way, good luck with it!

Inner Light is there for the Maximum Magicka - quite a damage boost. The only thing I’d swap it for is Deadly Cloak or Camouflaged Hunter. Also, check www.ninja-pulls.com for the latest updated guide. Happy hunting!
@@aarongouine-yb6yc hmm, for trials and such? Off the top of my head I'm thinking Berserking Warrior on weapons & jewelry and Deadly Strike on the body. Since Mythics aren't an option you can pick a monster set like Maw, Ilambris, Grothdarr etc. That should still be able to to hit 115k or something like that. If you test it, let me know!

If you’re asking about the UI, I use bits of Dark UI (cleaner), LUI Extended (resource bars) and Action Duration Reminder (timers). The scrolling ability icons are edited into the video and not part of the UI, in case you were wondering. Hope that helps.
Deadly + Aegis Caller (or Pillar of Nirn if there's a lot of movement). Honestly though, start doing trials. Dungeons are #1 for me personally, but trials are one of the best things in ESO and the main reason to have decent DPS. If you're worried about toxic randos, join Ninja Pulls! It is a bit easier on an Altmer because of racial passives, but it's possible you're missing some Medium Armor, Undaunted or Fighter's Guild passives. Or you could be overcasting Stamina abilities, not taking synergies etc. Hard to say without seeing a CMX report.
The Maelstrom 2H is what makes this DPS possible, so I wouldn't drop it unless absolutely necessary (e.g. you're nuking Reef Guardian hard mode and have Encratis in group). Carve isn't needed for shorter fights anyway, so just ditch it for Scalding Rune or Inner Light/Camouflaged Hunter (depending on Minor Berserk uptimes). If you do switch to an Inferno, I'd go with Blockade instead of Stampede.
@NinjaPulls Yeah I used to play ESO heavily until they did that. Zero build variety in the endgame doesn't make for a very exciting time. No matter what class you play you are gonna end up rocking 2H backbar with two daggers. It was fun for a little bit but it definitely hurts the game
I see your point @@tylermorrison1595. It's a common view, and before Ascending Tide dropped I was worried about this as well. But actually, it hasn't worked out that way. This patch my guides include Daggers, Bows, Greatswords, Inferno Staves and Lightning Staves on the front bar for different classes. All with excellent damage. Build variety and flexibility in PvE have never been this broad in 10 years of ESO. The devs do make mistakes for sure, but on this particular issue I want to defend them a little bit.
how has it never been this broad? look at mag/stam of any class for top dps and it's the same build unless the group requires something niche. compounded by the newish players that have no idea how all these combinations work, clogging up pledges with pathetic dps. back in the day, different setups could really shine on different class. now, well, its like fortnite@@NinjaPulls

Relequen is not required, no. It is the best option though, so feel free to use it on weapons and jewelry if you want. Deadly is also a Medium set so it doesn’t matter. Also, if you’re on PC EU you can join Ninja Pulls and see if we can arrange some Cloudrest runs!

My wife is looking for a solo templar build, what would you recommend ? we are both new players more or less, I have mostly only done crafting hehe and unlocked most sets that I can craft. She would love using the fire staff and going magicka. Any tips? what should I craft or she hunt for gear wise etc etc PS she wants to start going for a one bar build.
Yeah! That set has great stats. You could also consider Claw of the Forest Wraith, another craftable set which is very similar but buffs class abilities specifically (great for execute).
Order's Wrath is a great choice. Honestly there are MANY options and it kinda depends what content you're doing. Sounds like you have Deadly already (you can buy some body pieces if not). Pillar of Nirn and Aegis Caller are also excellent dungeon sets (Falkreath Hold and Unhallowed Grave - both DLC) with fun proc effects. They will pair well with Order's or Deadly. There are also easier sets to get (from overland or traders) like War Maiden and Soulshine (heavy) which work quite well with the Templar toolkit. Hope that helps!
Hmm, Pillar of Nirn is the obvious one I suppose. But without a trial set you'll be missing the Minor Slayer buff, which is free damage in any group content. So I recommend sticking with the setup shown here if you can - it's all very easy to collect and to use.
Thanks for replying. I've tried a few times to get into pug groups for normal cloudrest, but every time they wouldn't take me because I've never done cloudrest. It's a catch 22

Everlasting Sweep isn't great against single targets. Don't quote me on this, but I think you need to hit at least 2 targets with it before it matches Dawnbreaker. Even with Barrage. Test it out and let us know! You can slot it on the back bar for the passive, but our opening burst is kinda weak so it's nice to have Shooting Star for that.

I tested sweep but weak to compare with dawnbreaker 😅 toolkit is similar to both ult. sweep base damage is low. also dawnbreaker buff up overall dps but sweep just buffed by barrage itself. off cause meteor is great for opening. however I wanna see little more love for class ult.

Shooting Star is stronger but more expensive, so always start with that if you have enough ult. But if you don't, just go straight in with Dawnbreaker. If you're in a fight where there are defined burst phases (e.g. Yolnahkriin, Ansuul) you can also just sit on the ult and use Shooting Star when it comes around, if that makes sense. I love having two ults to choose from!
im hoping u may be looking in the comments under your older videos as well ^^ - i have the exact same setup with medium/light armour (just runecarver instead of siroria atm) and have darkelf as class, but im only on 30k Max Magicka and 18k Health and i really dont know why that is - my sustain is so bad that i need tri potions ... would love advice in this!
Hey there! As far as I know Runecarver isn’t the greatest set to run on a Templar - make sure you’re getting enough DPS out of it or consider swapping it for something else. Not a noob question at all! In easier content you're 100% correct - you may as well stick to one setup. In overland I just use my trash setup for everything. But in veteran content (especially newer DLCs) you need to optimise damage for different encounters or they become much harder or even impossible to clear. On console you can switch a few abilities, maybe a gear set. But on PC we use addons to switch abilities and gear instantly so we can go fast and clear each fight effectively. Hope that's a good enough explanation.
Maybe a stupid question mate. But why do you use relequin in combo with the necklace? Dont you wear the necklace to get more dmg at the cost of virtualy no light attack dmg? And you need to light attack to proc and maintain relequin. Isnt that a bit counter productive? Trying to wrap my head around it mate😂😂😂.
No worries - I understand the confusion! In this game you ALWAYS want to be weaving Light Attacks. Not just for damage but also to activate your glyphs and generate ultimate. So Relequen is still fantastic, since it doesn't buff your Light Attacks but is simply triggered by them. Hope that clears things up.
To keep the Weapon Damage glyph active. In theory you want your long DOTs running until the end, but rarely is that possible and in long fights like this it's borderline, so just skip it if you prefer. In short fights you can recast it earlier (20% or whatever) and in longer fights it'll depend on your sustain.
Yes, it is. I tried a bunch of different options (including bow/bow) but the Wrecking Blow rotation was still the best balance between power and simplicity that I could find.
You’d lose some damage pre-execute because the 2H buffs Power of the Light and Sweep, but the beam is unaffected so DPS will still be OK. Maybe a 5k loss? Certainly no more. However it’s not just about damage but also sustain - losing 2 Stamina DOTs and adding an expensive Magicka DOT will make this harder. You may no longer be able to use bi-stat food in tough content. But in shorter fights that’s not an issue, and losing Carve won’t matter in those situations either. I recommend having both the staff and the 2H available. Good luck with it!
It’s always damage. Never recovery. I don’t know why CMX doesn’t get updated to show this, but I always include enchantments in the mini-guide for clarity.

Pillar of Nirn is good, although it will be a little weaker next patch (2 weeks away). Aegis Caller will be a little stronger after that. Whorl of the Depths, Siroria are also good.
@@Ndzly Probably nothing - just go with Zaan on the head and shoulders. But in content (and depending on your supports & stats) you can use Kilt, Coil, Fete, Whispers etc.
I just call it what it is. I’m sorry if you don’t like hybridisation, but it was almost 2 years ago now so I think it’s time to just accept it. This is how the game works, and criticising a content creator for the devs’ decisions is pretty silly when you think about it. This IS a Magicka Templar, and it’s a pretty good guide. So maybe try it instead of wishing for the game to be different.
Haha yeah it was back in Lost Depths (the dreaded Update 35) they changed the animation, the spear model, the duration and number of hits. I like the new tick rate & duration, but the animation looks like you're shovelling snow and the spear model is Nighthollow (i.e. vampire) which makes zero sense. Still bugs me.
@@NinjaPulls imho they should have just kept the old visual model of the spear and change animation / duration (which was a good change in terms of weaving), but it is what it is... since the change as a templar you kinda swing a noodle visually xD
Almost none. The back bar weapon bonus isn’t very important because we spend very little time back there. It’s just that the Sword bonus provides a slight boost while the Axe bonus is redundant in optimised conditions. Short version: go ahead and use the Axe!

@@RevelKnightPvP I went with Bow/Bow for stamplar because I just got better results with it. But I hit around 123k with Daggers and 2H back bar. Battle Axe should be about the same - certainly over 120k if you can avoid mistakes and get nice crits. Sustain is rough though... Good luck!
Yes, my friend. No changes for Templar. I would say Whorl of Depths performs better in regular content, but if you want to parse high numbers, then Rele is the one to use. Just know that using LIght armor instead of medium will help your mag regen if you're struggling with that.
Try to fill them up if you can - starting with the slottables and the important ones like Piercing. If you don't have enough CP to fill everything, then don't worry you'll get there pretty fast.
At the risk of sounding dumb, is the any recommended alternatives to the sets used, I’m looking to buy my complete set from guild traders and don’t seem to be having any luck finding the sets mentioned in them. (I’m CP 268 🙂)
Deadly Strike can be bought from traders but some pieces WILL be expensive because it's kinda popular and drops from PvE. We did a whole video section about how to get this: ruclips.net/video/rfQrkXlyeZc/видео.htmlfeature=shared&t=256 (ignore the Arcanist stuff obviously - I know you're interested in Templar, but this set is great for both). Then you can pair it up with War Maiden, which drops on Vvardenfell and can also be bought. Hope that helps!
Great guide. personally, i find it better if you bring up skill bar and explain one by one before the rotation. helps get things proper setup. Edit: trying this build in content seems to be pretty Stam starved without heavy attacks. Edit2: is doubling up on minor force with new mythic really worth it over something like kilt? Edit3: the builds slaps but is very reliant on support for 4man content. You will not be able to carry a random dungeon, this is definitely a build for dummy humping or if you have a good group. I did swap ritual of retribution for restoring focus, and wearing kilt. Gg and thanks!
I’ve been using this in dungeons without any issues, but I’m generally playing with very good supports who are bringing all the appropriate buffs/debuffs, as you say. This is unfortunately a common issue with DPS setups - it would be weird if I were to make suboptimal recommendations! But yeah, in dungeons you will find it harder to reach the crit and pen caps, sometimes even if your group is fairly organised.
Exploiter is stronger in optimised conditions. But if nobody is keeping up Off Balance then Exploiter will contribute less than 3% and you can go for Master-at-Arms.
Only if your supports are giving you amazing stamina sustain. Riptide is usually tricky on Magicka setups. I'd stick with Relequen for single target, and if you need cleave then Whorl + Deadly works very well.
Mini-guides were posted as soon as U40 dropped. But the rotation hasn't changed at all, so there was no need to update the video. If it changes next patch I will definitely do another!
If you heavy attack before Ice Comet you get 10% damage for it. Probably not a lot in the end but incase you want to take full advantage of passives. I cant weave as fast but maybe you can tell me if its worth heavy attack 2h before every ult?
Are you talking about the Follow Up passive? If so, that only affects 2H attacks and I wouldn’t say it’s worth it. It’s good to be aware of these things though.
Yeah the build works without it. Your pre-execute damage should go up a bit, but your execute damage will drop noticeably, dragging down the overall average. I'd substitute it for a monster set like Zaan.
Hey there! Race doesn't matter much, but mine is a High Elf. Dark Elf is almost identical, with Khajiit only slightly behind (sometimes ahead, in dungeons for example). Hope that helps!

Sure, I sometimes use a Staff back bar as well. But not because Stampede is bad. Maybe somewhere like Yaseyla hard mode it's risky... but just calling it "shit" is an exaggeration. When I choose an Inferno back bar it's generally because a) Carve isn't worth running in that fight and b) Encratis is being provided. Stampede has little or nothing to do with it.
Actually, if there's ANY class where I prefer to play Magicka, this is it. Because it all hinges on the execute, the Stamina Templar has to awkwardly contort itself to keep up. This build does not work great on Stam - I had to go bow/bow to get acceptable results.

If you’re new and missing tons of gear and stuff, don’t worry about nailing rotations like this just yet. This is for when you’re doing Trials on veteran difficulty, and don’t worry it’ll feel natural after a bit of practice - it’s just a different combat system from most other games so it can feel weird at first. Took me a while to get used to as well, but ultimately it’s 2 button pushes per second and eventually you won’t even notice it. But hey, take your time, enjoy the game and happy hunting!
You're doing it wrong. You can see how it performs right there in the video, without group buffs (aside from those on the dummy, which are extremely basic) and it can self sustain for nearly 3 minutes. Also, loads of players run this setup in dungeons every day, getting trifectas and excellent damage. Since Mythics aren't an option you can pick a monster set like Maw, Ilambris, Grothdarr etc. That should still be able to to hit 115k or something like that. If you test it, let me know!
All I needed help with was sustain, swapping out degen for inner light and using spell power pots did it.

If you’re asking about the UI, I use bits of Dark UI (cleaner), LUI Extended (resource bars) and Action Duration Reminder (timers). The scrolling ability icons are edited into the video and not part of the UI, in case you were wondering. Hope that helps.

It is a bit easier on an Altmer because of racial passives, but it's possible you're missing some Medium Armor, Undaunted or Fighter's Guild passives. Or you could be overcasting Stamina abilities, not taking synergies etc. Hard to say without seeing a CMX report.

Yes! I'd swap Pillar of Nirn for Aegis Caller for slightly more damage, but yeah everything else is still current.

If you were going to use an inferno staff back bar what skills would you replace stampede and carve with?
The Maelstrom 2H is what makes this DPS possible, so I wouldn't drop it unless absolutely necessary (e.g. you're nuking Reef Guardian hard mode and have Encratis in group). Carve isn't needed for shorter fights anyway, so just ditch it for Scalding Rune or Inner Light/Camouflaged Hunter (depending on Minor Berserk uptimes). If you do switch to an Inferno, I'd go with Blockade instead of Stampede.

Yeah, the devs hybridised combat almost 2 years ago, so it's very common to see Stamina using Staves and Magicka using swords etc. It's a good thing.
@NinjaPulls Yeah I used to play ESO heavily until they did that. Zero build variety in the endgame doesn't make for a very exciting time. No matter what class you play you are gonna end up rocking 2H backbar with two daggers. It was fun for a little bit but it definitely hurts the game
I see your point @@tylermorrison1595. It's a common view, and before Ascending Tide dropped I was worried about this as well. But actually, it hasn't worked out that way. This patch my guides include Daggers, Bows, Greatswords, Inferno Staves and Lightning Staves on the front bar for different classes. All with excellent damage. Build variety and flexibility in PvE have never been this broad in 10 years of ESO. The devs do make mistakes for sure, but on this particular issue I want to defend them a little bit.
how has it never been this broad? look at mag/stam of any class for top dps and it's the same build unless the group requires something niche. compounded by the newish players that have no idea how all these combinations work, clogging up pledges with pathetic dps. back in the day, different setups could really shine on different class. now, well, its like fortnite@@NinjaPulls

Relequen is not required, no. It is the best option though, so feel free to use it on weapons and jewelry if you want. Deadly is also a Medium set so it doesn’t matter. Also, if you’re on PC EU you can join Ninja Pulls and see if we can arrange some Cloudrest runs!
P.S. In case I misunderstood and you’re just looking to include more Light Pieces, then Whorl is also a nice option. Less finicky than Siroria.

It's a channel, so yes it does get buffed. No panic!

Yeah! That set has great stats. You could also consider Claw of the Forest Wraith, another craftable set which is very similar but buffs class abilities specifically (great for execute).

Order's Wrath is a great choice. Honestly there are MANY options and it kinda depends what content you're doing. Sounds like you have Deadly already (you can buy some body pieces if not). Pillar of Nirn and Aegis Caller are also excellent dungeon sets (Falkreath Hold and Unhallowed Grave - both DLC) with fun proc effects. They will pair well with Order's or Deadly. There are also easier sets to get (from overland or traders) like War Maiden and Soulshine (heavy) which work quite well with the Templar toolkit. Hope that helps!

Hmm, Pillar of Nirn is the obvious one I suppose. But without a trial set you'll be missing the Minor Slayer buff, which is free damage in any group content. So I recommend sticking with the setup shown here if you can - it's all very easy to collect and to use.

Everlasting Sweep isn't great against single targets. Don't quote me on this, but I think you need to hit at least 2 targets with it before it matches Dawnbreaker. Even with Barrage. Test it out and let us know! You can slot it on the back bar for the passive, but our opening burst is kinda weak so it's nice to have Shooting Star for that.

toolkit is similar to both ult.
sweep base damage is low. also dawnbreaker buff up overall dps but sweep just buffed by barrage itself.
off cause meteor is great for opening.
however I wanna see little more love for class ult.

Shooting Star is stronger but more expensive, so always start with that if you have enough ult. But if you don't, just go straight in with Dawnbreaker. If you're in a fight where there are defined burst phases (e.g. Yolnahkriin, Ansuul) you can also just sit on the ult and use Shooting Star when it comes around, if that makes sense. I love having two ults to choose from!

Hey there! As far as I know Runecarver isn’t the greatest set to run on a Templar - make sure you’re getting enough DPS out of it or consider swapping it for something else. Noob question. Why u separate in single target and trash? Ina trial o dungeons or exploring need to fight both. Sorry but it’s confusing to me
Not a noob question at all! In easier content you're 100% correct - you may as well stick to one setup. In overland I just use my trash setup for everything. But in veteran content (especially newer DLCs) you need to optimise damage for different encounters or they become much harder or even impossible to clear. On console you can switch a few abilities, maybe a gear set. But on PC we use addons to switch abilities and gear instantly so we can go fast and clear each fight effectively. Hope that's a good enough explanation.

Maybe a stupid question mate. But why do you use relequin in combo with the necklace? Dont you wear the necklace to get more dmg at the cost of virtualy no light attack dmg? And you need to light attack to proc and maintain relequin. Isnt that a bit counter productive? Trying to wrap my head around it mate😂😂😂.
No worries - I understand the confusion! In this game you ALWAYS want to be weaving Light Attacks. Not just for damage but also to activate your glyphs and generate ultimate. So Relequen is still fantastic, since it doesn't buff your Light Attacks but is simply triggered by them. Hope that clears things up.

Why you cast stampede in execute?
To keep the Weapon Damage glyph active. In theory you want your long DOTs running until the end, but rarely is that possible and in long fights like this it's borderline, so just skip it if you prefer. In short fights you can recast it earlier (20% or whatever) and in longer fights it'll depend on your sustain.

Yes, it is. I tried a bunch of different options (including bow/bow) but the Wrecking Blow rotation was still the best balance between power and simplicity that I could find.
if i wanted to run maelstrom staff instead what would be my damage drop off?
You’d lose some damage pre-execute because the 2H buffs Power of the Light and Sweep, but the beam is unaffected so DPS will still be OK. Maybe a 5k loss? Certainly no more. However it’s not just about damage but also sustain - losing 2 Stamina DOTs and adding an expensive Magicka DOT will make this harder. You may no longer be able to use bi-stat food in tough content. But in shorter fights that’s not an issue, and losing Carve won’t matter in those situations either. I recommend having both the staff and the 2H available. Good luck with it!
so with multi effect enchant is that weap dmg or prismatic recov? becuase multi effect can come off confusing
It’s always damage. Never recovery. I don’t know why CMX doesn’t get updated to show this, but I always include enchantments in the mini-guide for clarity.
For stamplar is pillar of nirn/ deadly/ zaan still a good option ?

Pillar of Nirn is good, although it will be a little weaker next patch (2 weeks away). Aegis Caller will be a little stronger after that. Whorl of the Depths, Siroria are also good.

I just call it what it is. I’m sorry if you don’t like hybridisation, but it was almost 2 years ago now so I think it’s time to just accept it. This is how the game works, and criticising a content creator for the devs’ decisions is pretty silly when you think about it. This IS a Magicka Templar, and it’s a pretty good guide. So maybe try it instead of wishing for the game to be different.

Haha yeah it was back in Lost Depths (the dreaded Update 35) they changed the animation, the spear model, the duration and number of hits. I like the new tick rate & duration, but the animation looks like you're shovelling snow and the spear model is Nighthollow (i.e. vampire) which makes zero sense. Still bugs me.
@@NinjaPulls imho they should have just kept the old visual model of the spear and change animation / duration (which was a good change in terms of weaving), but it is what it is... since the change as a templar you kinda swing a noodle visually xD

What is the damage difference between maelstrom 2h battle axe to greatsword?
Almost none. The back bar weapon bonus isn’t very important because we spend very little time back there. It’s just that the Sword bonus provides a slight boost while the Axe bonus is redundant in optimised conditions. Short version: go ahead and use the Axe!

@@RevelKnightPvP I went with Bow/Bow for stamplar because I just got better results with it. But I hit around 123k with Daggers and 2H back bar. Battle Axe should be about the same - certainly over 120k if you can avoid mistakes and get nice crits. Sustain is rough though... Good luck!

Yes, my friend. No changes for Templar. I would say Whorl of Depths performs better in regular content, but if you want to parse high numbers, then Rele is the one to use. Just know that using LIght armor instead of medium will help your mag regen if you're struggling with that.

How many points do I put into each CP section? 🙃
Try to fill them up if you can - starting with the slottables and the important ones like Piercing. If you don't have enough CP to fill everything, then don't worry you'll get there pretty fast.
At the risk of sounding dumb, is the any recommended alternatives to the sets used, I’m looking to buy my complete set from guild traders and don’t seem to be having any luck finding the sets mentioned in them. (I’m CP 268 🙂)
Deadly Strike can be bought from traders but some pieces WILL be expensive because it's kinda popular and drops from PvE. We did a whole video section about how to get this: ruclips.net/video/rfQrkXlyeZc/видео.htmlfeature=shared&t=256 (ignore the Arcanist stuff obviously - I know you're interested in Templar, but this set is great for both). Then you can pair it up with War Maiden, which drops on Vvardenfell and can also be bought. Hope that helps!

Edit3: the builds slaps but is very reliant on support for 4man content. You will not be able to carry a random dungeon, this is definitely a build for dummy humping or if you have a good group. I did swap ritual of retribution for restoring focus, and wearing kilt. Gg and thanks!
I’ve been using this in dungeons without any issues, but I’m generally playing with very good supports who are bringing all the appropriate buffs/debuffs, as you say. This is unfortunately a common issue with DPS setups - it would be weird if I were to make suboptimal recommendations! But yeah, in dungeons you will find it harder to reach the crit and pen caps, sometimes even if your group is fairly organised.
Love your build man! Just one question, for the cp, why are you using exploiter instead of master at arms?
Exploiter is stronger in optimised conditions. But if nobody is keeping up Off Balance then Exploiter will contribute less than 3% and you can go for Master-at-Arms.
What food to sustain stam?
I used Ghastly Eye Bowl here. No Stamina Recovery needed.
Is perfect coral riptide an option on this build instead of Rele Ninja?
Only if your supports are giving you amazing stamina sustain. Riptide is usually tricky on Magicka setups. I'd stick with Relequen for single target, and if you need cleave then Whorl + Deadly works very well.
How could you manage to get crit cap by swapping Relequen for Whorl?
If you use crit CPs like Backstabber/Finesse. And/or move Deadly pieces to the body and Whorl on the weapons. Just the usual tricks.

If you heavy attack before Ice Comet you get 10% damage for it. Probably not a lot in the end but incase you want to take full advantage of passives. I cant weave as fast but maybe you can tell me if its worth heavy attack 2h before every ult?
Are you talking about the Follow Up passive? If so, that only affects 2H attacks and I wouldn’t say it’s worth it. It’s good to be aware of these things though.

Definitely the Thief. Sustain is actually pretty nice for a change!

Yeah the build works without it. Your pre-execute damage should go up a bit, but your execute damage will drop noticeably, dragging down the overall average. I'd substitute it for a monster set like Zaan.

Hey there! Race doesn't matter much, but mine is a High Elf. Dark Elf is almost identical, with Khajiit only slightly behind (sometimes ahead, in dungeons for example). Hope that helps!

Sure, I sometimes use a Staff back bar as well. But not because Stampede is bad. Maybe somewhere like Yaseyla hard mode it's risky... but just calling it "shit" is an exaggeration. When I choose an Inferno back bar it's generally because a) Carve isn't worth running in that fight and b) Encratis is being provided. Stampede has little or nothing to do with it.

Actually, if there's ANY class where I prefer to play Magicka, this is it. Because it all hinges on the execute, the Stamina Templar has to awkwardly contort itself to keep up. This build does not work great on Stam - I had to go bow/bow to get acceptable results.

If you’re new and missing tons of gear and stuff, don’t worry about nailing rotations like this just yet. This is for when you’re doing Trials on veteran difficulty, and don’t worry it’ll feel natural after a bit of practice - it’s just a different combat system from most other games so it can feel weird at first. Took me a while to get used to as well, but ultimately it’s 2 button pushes per second and eventually you won’t even notice it. But hey, take your time, enjoy the game and happy hunting!
if you do anything besides trials with this build its ass. the sustain is so terrible without group buffs its unplayable.
You're doing it wrong. You can see how it performs right there in the video, without group buffs (aside from those on the dummy, which are extremely basic) and it can self sustain for nearly 3 minutes. Also, loads of players run this setup in dungeons every day, getting trifectas and excellent damage.
