This is the first video I’ve seen that actually made weaving make sense to me. You explain things so explicitly… easy to digest. You have the perfect speaking voice for this stuff. So happy I found this channel. Thank you.
Often, I see explanations for weaving that are incomplete or incorrect. It's one of those things that need a fair amount of explanation. It's not straight forward and contains various nuances (like the GCD) that are important. Once you understand it everything comes together and it is actually not difficult to execute. I does take time to execute well because you need to find the correct rhythm.
I dunno there's a lot of weird ass people out there who go into videos and post how they don't care about the video subject. It's like how hard is it to keep scrolling by if they don't care? Oh wait..
As an endgame PvE player, I never thought of rotations quite like that. It was always: "Lay down your DoTs, then spam away, taking care not to miss your class gimmick skill (spec bow, Prey, 3 crux beam, talons, etc.)". The layered cake analogy is really clever, and I'll be taking a closer look at my rotations to see how I can improve!
your rotation is still true and its what everyone except arcanist does, play the boring minigame of keeping buffs and dots up. Which is why the game is so boring for most people and they quit. WoW had dots minigames on like 3-4 builds out of 30.
I much prefer static rotations because I can execute them much better than dynamic rotations. I find static rotations similar to how this video explains it. I generally build my rotation around the key abilities of the class. Generally a class has a key ability you want to prioritise that is cast every X seconds (or GCD's). I build my rotation around the key ability and fill in the DOTs throughout the rotation. Then the spammable fills in any spots where there is no key ability or DOT to recast.
Yea Some People want you to sell ya soul So you can Learn magic 4 a spell. to be able to Understand them...Better off chewing gum. it just works love gum.."See lol"
This is an excellent video. The part about LA weaving is one of the best explanations I've seen. I often see LA weaving described incompletely or incorrectly. When someone first described it to me, it wasn't complete enough and I was doing it wrong. I ended up figuring it out later. Then even more later, I found out some other important details that I didn't know about. I'm glad you talked about weapons other than DW daggers for the front bar. I also use bows as well as 2H greatsword in addition to destro staves as my front bar weapon. All of them have different advantages in not just the passive stats, but also in what you can run on your front bar. I have characters that use the 2H greatsword because I just found that they worked best for me on those particular characters. I find I need to use Wrecking Blow as my spammable for this setup. I also get the advantage of having Executioner/Reverse Slice as an execute.
I loved the advice you gave... It is just a number, don't get hung up on it. So true of many things we competitive people do. Learning this over the last 2 years has brought much more joy and fun to my game time (and real life too). You've done many of us a great service by putting things into perspective. Thanks!
Thank you for this video! I've been playing since ESO came out, and I still haven't been able to grasp how dps works on the game. This breakdown of how it works is so much more helpful.
Coming from a certified PvE nerd, who helps a lot of new players this is a great video that I will definitely be sharing. I Say the exact same things but not anywhere near as concisely. Hats off. Great video.
Good job at these videos Kaan - ninja pulls has become a place I send learning players to, and still carries forward the approach you had back in legions 💪
I'm always amazed how Kaan get's all the Info condenced and make it so easy to follow. We need more of this in ESO. Can't wait for the class videos and hope to see more new ppl in trials.
Just returned to ESO after around a two year break, very rusty! Really enjoying getting back into my characters and of course the new (new to me!) Arcainist. This video is a great refresher. Also been watching a couple of your build videos and I am currently working on your OBB Mag Templar for the awesome Infinite Archive and excited to try something completely different. Gratz on your high score in there too, impressive and encouraging! Keep up the great work- GL New subscriber and a well earned thumbs up.
Idk how these meta sets work for everyone else but me. With relequin, advancing yokeda and balorgs I hit only 34k on the 3 million point dummy and only 54k on the iron atronach. I tried so many people’s rotations to the tee and still get the same results. Maybe i am just doomed to keep the same dps. Most guilds won’t let me do vet trials on a dps. I’m limited to my tanks.
Ah man that sucks. I’ll help you get you to 100k. Seriously. Just join the Ninja Pulls Discord, send me a DM (Kaan) and I’ll personally go over any DPS losses in your gameplay and we’ll sort everything out. That’s pretty much what Ninja Pulls does as a guild. Link in the description- see you there!
1 of the main things I enjoy about arcanist is removing most light attacks. You can actually chill as a dps. When I want to go crazy, magicka nightblade is still my main.
Looking forward to seeing your videos. I do trials both as a healer and as a dps, but have yet to break 100k. I have gotten close--99K on my magicka warden, but my sorc, arcanist, and necro struggle on the dummy. In trials, they pull their weight.
Some people just aren’t great at dummy humping, but smash it in content - that’s what matters anyway! However, if you do want to work on your parse DPS, join our Discord and I’ll be happy to give some feedback: discord.com/invite/ninjapulls
I can parse almost 100k on my my bow/bow warden. I’m happy with that. Especially if I can do vet maelstrom and some vet trials/dungeons. Staying alive is the most important thing, especially if you don’t have to rely on the healer.
Man.... all I wanted was an RPG. Now all these games care about is DPS and specific mechanics and pro-play. There's literally no identity to this game or the characters. I appreciate your video and it is well done and informative. It just made me realize how disappointed I am in the game and why I only play it on average 7 mins a day, unless it's during an event.
Stats and DPS aren't for everyone. But remember that 90% of this game is crazy-easy story content that requires neither setups nor knowledge to complete. A deliberate choice to make ESO accessible. In this video I'm only talking about the other 10% where DPS matters, and where a vast number of players spend all their time. The deep combat system is absolutely essential to these people. For those who prefer not to engage with it, you can still do all dungeons and trials or normal difficulty and still accomplish almost everything in the game. Hope that helps ease your disappointment a little bit! And if you wanna dip your toe into the combat system a little more, join our Discord!
@NinjaPulls I very much appreciate and totally did not expect your response! I'm not very serious about the combat system, I'm more of a call and response sort of RPG player. Like legitimate RPG style so I probably won't join your discord, but thank you so much for the offer. 💚
I'm happy to see some minor improvements to the class, they have been suffering a bit lately in regards to reliable or fluid dps gameplay. However, all anyone seems to come up with lately is *one-bar dps buiilds* which are so boring...
Sadly with my arthritis I can't do L A weaving. So far HA oaken builds all all ive been able to do. Its been enough to do all the HM content so far. "Actually more then enough" it has great cleave dammage and the dps never slows down. That said I absolutely am looking to get better dps and would appreciate any help.
No problem. Happy to help! We’ve increased damage for players with your setup. Best thing is to join our Discord and we can take it from there: discord.com/invite/ninjapulls
The most interesting thing to me is that I can run vet dungeons and usually also trials and I mostly perfom fine on them (like being in the mid section of dps if you check raid logs and in dungeons I usually do around 40-45% of the damage), but for the life of me I cannot parse on a dummy. This honestly really sucks because most guilds want you to parse on a dummy to be qualified for vet trials. I'm not really sure what I'm doing wrong at the dummies, if I don't weave correctly, if I use the wrong skills, but I rarely make good numbers on them. I think, if I was able to crack my problems with the dummy, my performance on trials would jump up immensely since I'm already a very reactive player who understands mechanics fairly quick. Do you have any tips, or maybe a video about the difference between parsing on a dummy vs. playing content? Are you using the same skills, same rotation, same potions? What do you do when you're out of resources? Just heavy attacks? Or are they part of your rotation? I'd appreciate any insight and advice! :D
Join our discord (link in the description) and either hit me up directly (Kaan) or post a question in our parses channel PvE questions channel. We’ll get you to 100k in no time!
Same. I think it’s because a dummy just sits there and doesn't hit you back, hence you hyper focus on trying to hit every skill you can and make mistakes. I found that moving around really helps instead of just standing in the same spot and parsing. In real fights you are avoiding AoE and other attacks.
@@NinjaPulls ahahaha ive been giggling at my own silly joke 😂😂 in all seriousness though mate this is, as usual, an absolutely stellar video. Very well produced, very well spaced out, and loaded with crucial information for those newer players who are unfortunately anxious about group content and are trying to boost their damage. I know it doesnt fall under your usual umbrella but i was wondering what you'd think about making a video to help explain to the newer players some simple generic mechanics (heavy attacks, aoes, interruptables, knowing when youre targetted by an elite and how to deal with it, etc) Think about it as "you cant deal damage if youre dead" im sure this would be a huge help to them
@@andrewmicallef9679 Funnily enough this is already in the production pipeline! Maya keeps a close eye on what people are asking about, knowledge gaps, other content etc. and she steers us towards the most helpful videos. Thanks so much for the suggestion and for the kind words!
As a nightblade I find the idea of weaving being difficult being very funny. It's essential for a nightblade so I have been doing it even before I was level 50
Daggers with dual wield passives give you increased crit Chance, getting criticals as often as possible is a big part of damage. As for the Destro staff, typically you would use one on your back bar with an enchant that increases weapon damage, then use "wall of elements" skill, the weapon skill procs enchants even when on your other bar, increasing your damage buffs uptime from the enchant. Also, with hybrid stat scaling, running Destro staff can help with some of the sustain on your stamina, if you find yourself running out of stamina alot, swapping in 1-2 mag skills can help ease the burden until potions are off cool down.
I learned how to weave right before they scaled the game. I found my first real group and a player took the time to show me how it was done. Once I got it, I never looked back. 😁
I don't know, I've always done it by clicking continuously on mouse and pressing abilities into it, I've been told im probably doing it wrong but most of the time im at 40/50/70% of group dps as a DD, my best dps is 94k
My only real issue with weaving is lag it absolutely does affect your dps so if your ping is low your dps will suffer this is not a great game mechanic for that reason.
True. You can still weave and get stonks damage though. We’ve got players from around the world smashing that 100k with great LA ratio. Getting used to it can be a pain - playing on both EU and NA has been an interesting challenge, for sure. 😝
I'm sitting at 230 ping on the best days usually at 300 ping, running builds that give 100k+ and sitting just below 80k threshold required for my trial group. I want to weep, just can't get there.
@@deisophiagaming8216 Oof yeah 300 ping is high. There's not a ton you can do about that except TRUST your muscle memory and be very careful with ground DOTs (which often break if you go too fast). But there's probably other things you can fix - please join the Discord and post your CMX for me to look at and I PROMISE I will get you over 100k.
Hi Ninja, today I tried to follow your stamina arcanist rotation but noticed that in the graphic fulminating rune and trap are mentioned in the text for pre buffing but not visually included for the actual rotation. Did I miss something? Since I’m pretty new to rotations that’s quite confusing for me since I’m not sure at which point of the rotation trap and fulminating rune should be recasted. Thanks in advance for any advice and thanks for your helpful content 😊
Hey there and thanks for the kind words! The reason Trap and Fulminating Rune don’t appear in the diagram is because they’re 20s long and therefore don’t fit in the static sequence. Just keep an eye on them and recast them both on cooldown.
@@NinjaPulls nah i prefer to whinge on the forums about it, being an incendiary and unpleasant waste of oxygen and offering zero helpful feedback in the process afterwards i seek out youtube videos discussing the game and verbally abuse the content creators for still playing a game that I have stopped playing four years ago because i can't stand seeing people have fun with something i don't enjoy (/s if it wasn't obvious)
I'm honestly shocked at how demanding ESO is when it comes to having DLС. Without DLС, I simply cannot break through the 70+k DPS barrier. I am a person who really likes to make various cool builds and being tied to Order`s Wrath + Burning Spellweave on my PVE DK and New Moon Acolyte + Archer`s Mind on my Nightblade ganker makes me depressed. Every time, scrolling through the list of sets in search of something interesting, I come across this most interesting thing and am instantly disappointed when I see the need for DLCs.
Most MMOs make everything obsolete outside the latest expansion. ESO is certainly not the worst offender, and I can help you get well over 100k without DLC sets. Rotation is much more important than gear. Swing by the Discord and hit me up (Kaan).
Damn now I need to go learn what these sets are, how to get them, and why I should bother. Guess that last one is answered by this whole statement its self lol.
Don’t panic! There are a LOT of sets that can work - I just listed some of the most common ones used for PvE damage. They are by no means mandatory. Feel free to join our Discord (link in description) if you want more detailed/personal advice. Happy hunting!
Two years in game, here. I've done EVERYTHING for DPS. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-NG. Read every guide, watched every video, tried every gear. NOTHING seams to work. I can't get past a meager 35K. Can do 40-45K on a very lucky day. I don't know what else to do. I'm frustrated to no end. Frankly it's demoralizing. Enter a vet dungeon or a normal trial and there's this one player making over 100K damage non-stop just by farting. Just this past weekend some player was making upwards to 500K in Rockgrove (I swear that's what the meter read). How is that even possible? I thought the cap was 125K. Of course I was floored. It felt like I was being carried and I hate that feeling. I was this 🤏close from exiting the instance in frustration. I've already completed every quest in every zone in the game and I'm bored. If I can't do the end game content I might as well stop playing it.
My suggestion would be to join our discord and post a parse. I’m sure we’ll be able to find something to help. discord.com/invite/ninjapulls Tag/DM me or Maya anytime?
Same. My max was 30k on 3 mil skeleton. I spend hours in front of skeleton trying to weave rotation. Nothing... that frustration about DPS wall just unbearable. I quit this game for few years. And nothing changed since... To play trials they asks DPS logs, and in best cases they respond like " too low" in worse just " ha ha noob" talks shit or kicks from guild. :( Game is not fun... but beautiful... probably only thing that keep me in it. 😭
Good question! Also kinda tough to answer, as it can vary greatly from fight to fight, and from class to class. If we're talking specifically about Magicka Templar on a target dummy, I would expect an experienced player to be capable of 100-120k DPS. That figure might be VERY different in dungeons - with good supports it might still be 80k, but with bad supports the same DD might only reach 50k. So it's very hard to generalise. On the dummy 80-90k DPS is also totally fine, but that typically indicates a player who is still learning or doesn't care about maximising their damage.
Sorry for the cop-out response, but it really depends on the class and build. For example, Deadly Strike is almost certainly the most popular tradeable set for PvE, but on a Sorcerer for example it'd be rubbish. If you're looking for good sets without having to farm, crafted sets are absolutely fine. Order's Wrath + New Moon Acolyte for example. Hope that helps!
Quick question,I'm running a MagDK for Almost 2400 hrs now,I don't have Gold Road yet,but I'm still running MS,Zaan and a helmet I can't think of at the moment lol. But my question is; Is MS outdated now or is it still considered a fairly good option?
@NinjaPulls That's exactly what I was on about. Used it for ages. I have started gathering a newer set,Runecarver/Elfbane/Slimecraw/Oakensoul. A one bar build for the first time. I think I'll keep the Mothers Sorrow set just in case. Thank-Q for the reply🙏I appreciate that!
It's from The Elder Scrolls: Legends. I try not to use AI because it sucks. The Daedric Armor in TES 4: Oblivion looks like this. There's nothing EXACTLY like it in ESO, but there are lots of Daedric Armor styles - the Annihilarch's Chosen for example is pretty close.
I played this game since 2015 my dps on the trial dummy is 65K no mater what build or armor or skills I equip it’s always 65k I spent millions of gold testing every build but I do play on a PS5 and I’m stuck at 65k DPS
If I could see your rotation I'd be able to tell you in a few minutes where the DPS losses are occurring. You can join our Discord and post your setups to get some feedback, or even upload a video and I'll analyse it when I have time. But honestly if you follow one of the static-ish rotations I've posted there, you should be able to go way past 65k. Are you definitely using the right sort of dummy? It should be one with trial buffs.
This video supposed to be about parsing but it is about everything else. I will teach it then: The best single target set in ESO (relequen) add 2-3K dps. So parsing is all about your skill. Just practice and get good. Gold your weapons. Slot only weapon damage enchants and bloodthirsty. Done.
OK couple of points: 1. Do you do veteran dungeons? Because if not, you don't really need to worry about DPS. 2. I'm a fellow dungeon lover, but why on earth wouldn't you do trials? They're absolutely one of the best things in ESO.
@NinjaPulls The amount of players that do trials is extremely small. Its so small its very likely less than 5% or lower. I'm sure you already know this.Trials takes knowing 12 people that get along well enough without drama. The ceiling is far far too high for the overwhelming majority. Most players just don't have enough time or friends to make it happen. That's why. Been playing for ten years. Highest dps is 74k per second though I main support. I hope to one day try them, but I may never as well. Vet dungeons are far more accessible and still give my small team of 3 and 4 a satisfying challenge. Especially in the dlc content. We only get to play once a week and with everyone having a life outside of gaming, that takes alot to plan just for us. Reason why we typically three man everything due to one guy being M.I.A. To get eight more people who can communicate together, have a good time, and actually get together with full time jobs and family, would be a miracle for all but the most hardcore.
@@NinjaPulls When I started playing ESO, trials were extremely intimidating to me, even the normal ones. I never felt like I was ready for them, even after playing for 1-2 years, really. I guess, a lot of people feel the same way, especially when they have nobody who literally "drags" them into a trial. In the past, one of my friends said "come on, just join us, we need somebody" and I was really scared to constantly die or not perform my role as a damage dealer properly. I came along and learned it wasn't as scary as I've imagined the entire time, but I think a lot of people feel the same way. Plus, the "hassle" to get a group together. Knowing people to fight with you OR knowing how to set up the group finder. Knowing the abbreviations (nSS, vCR, LFM etc.). Knowing where and how to ask in chat. And literally, knowing the trials. For me, today it's second nature, but it used to be a very nerve wracking. In the past, I thought the one who's opening the group is the one who's supposed to be the raid lead. Today, I just start the group finder for the raid I wanna run first time and tell them "I hope someone knows their way around, it's my first time in here lol". But having the confidence to do all of this takes time and patience for some players and sometimes a good friend who just drags them along.
@@TheAlphaOmegaX3 74k dps is more than enough for normal trials and there’s lots of guilds that run them. If you’re brave enough you could even pug them. You don’t NEED the perfected gear from vet trials, but once you start on normal you might get the bug to push further. You don’t need to know 12 people per se, find a guild that runs trials at a time convenient to you there’s loads out there. Either way, good luck!
@nalt0id862 one of these days lol. It's definitely a side goal. Maybe I might attempt a shout-out for a pug trial and see how it goes the next time I have a couple of hours without interruptions. Thanks for the encouragement.
Thanks for the nice comment! I would (very politely, of course!) encourage you to check your facts on weaving. The whole glitch thing is a total myth, easy to disprove by looking at the original release and dev discussions at the time where they talk about "weaving" in detail. Obviously feel free to ignore it, but it's kinda like weapon swapping in a shooter - it's there, and it's strong so we might as well do it! ❤
Hi there and thanks for the comment! I'm afraid this is actually a myth, but I don't blame you for repeating it since it's very widespread. The reason dummy DPS used to top out at 40k pre-2019 is that trial dummies did not exist. If they had, the cap would have been more like 80k. It's true that power has crept up since then, but so have strats and expectations. Nobody tolerates the original slow strats anymore in the older trials (most don't even know them because they've been skippable for years). The slower you go, the harder everything becomes. Especially for the supports. Finally, 100k has been adopted (rightly or wrongly) as a pretty standard benchmark throughout the ESO raiding community. It's far easier to achieve than many players realise and this video is an attempt to help spread that message. Excuse the lengthy response. No hostility intended. But I've been doing this a long time and always try to answer these claims properly.
All trials are different and you do have varying difficulties. So some, yes. Some are pretty easy. Also depends on the group. I'd suggest joining a good guild with open runs (like Ninja Pulls) if you want to try them.
I'm stuck at 60k. I have golden trials gear, weapons, the correct traits, velothi etc. cookie cutter easy 100k+ dps right? nope it just won't parse higher. I'm LA weaving, and I'm hitting my skills on gcd. I keep my dots more or less up perfectly. WHERE is this mystery dps I'm missing? I'm using skinny cheeks builds. I can't fathom why my oakensorc build out dps my arcanist with one button
Hey there! Have you asked Skinny? If you check out the setups on our website & post a parse in our Discord using them I can guarantee we’ll be able to help you smash that 100k! Website: www.ninja-pulls.com/ Discord: discord.com/invite/ninjapulls
My dps is trash and even after watching this video I guarantee it will continue to be trash 😂 guess I’ll stick to hoarding gold and crafting. Why play the game how it’s meant to be played, might as well skip right to the end game housing.
Sure, do what you enjoy! That’s the main thing. But the point of the video is that ANYONE can do this, so don’t count yourself out. Coordinated team play is the BEST thing in ESO by far - whether it’s PvP or trials. So if you’re interested, go for it.
Sorry to hear that. Have you tried mapping it to another button, or just relaxing your grip? Sounds like I'm trolling, but not at all. I know SO many PC players who strained their hands and wrists because they tense up or use input mapping that doesn't suit them. Good luck with it either way.
@@NinjaPulls I play on an Xbox Series X, and light attacks are accomplished by tapping the right trigger. As a consequence of physical issues I live with, repeatedly hitting the right trigger as I hit the various slotted ability buttons invariably causes me wrist and hand pain. It's for this reason that I avoid light attack weaving builds like the plague, and exclusively DD as either a heavy attack magsorc, or a Velothi Ur Mage's Amulet stamina Arcanist. The game just isn't fun if I'm literally in pain as a result of playing it. I suspect that I'm not the only person who deals with issues like this.
You are definitely not the only person. We've been running a teaching guild for many years and have met loads of players with very similar complaints. Obviously every case is different, but many of those I've dealt with were helped enormously by rebinding buttons, getting an ergonomic controller and/or proper hand and wrist exercises. This goes for any game really. Anyway best of luck with it!
You didn't talk about the biggest issue for DPS players.... LAG! You will never get 100k DPS if you're sitting on a ping of 400 because the game will not register your weaving fast enough. If anything you will get stuck in a light attack animation locking all animations on your character throwing your weaving into Oblivion otherwise great video.
Hmm, sorry to hear that! I'm based in Europe and play regularly on NA 300+ ping and it's honestly OK. Specific things like dodges, ground AOEs and Nightblade insta-bow-procs are a pain and have to be timed differently (I always die a couple of times before my brain recalibrates) but DPS loss from lag shouldn't be that huge - not enough to keep you below 100k. But I could be totally wrong - ping isn't the only factor and I've never tried your setup. Animation lock is frustrating as hell, but I try to treat it like a channel and just ignore it. Easier said than done though. All I can say is best of luck to you!
12:38 - I'm leveling a stamina-based Imperial DK with a 2h main bar weapon. I currently have a bow as the back-bar weapons, but I'm not opposed to swapping it out. My *MUST HAVE* for the identity of this character is a stamina-based 2h weapon to do the lion's share of my damage, not my DK stuff. Of course, the best DK skills that have a cooldown like talons are something I'll use, but I intended to use the DK stuff primarily for defense and utility. And therefore I want to use the lava whip morph for the ranged stun purposes. I *NEED* my primary spam attacks to be from my 2h weapon or else I'd rather not play at all. I'm open to using any of the 3 types of 2h weapons on my front bar and any of the stam-based back-bar weapons. So with that in mind, what kind of build with these constraints would be most viable in terms of exact weapon types? And should a build like this need to run all medium armor? I quite like that a lot of the DK passives are built off max health which synergizes with heavy armor. But I don't have my heart set on armor type. I'll use any combination of armor type ratio to best maximize the constraints I've listed. Thanks so much for anyone's advice here as long as it respects my stated constraints.
If this is a joke I don't get it. If you're serious, then my apologies! But this sounds like a very personal roleplay build, which neither I nor anyone else is really equipped to help you with. Good luck with it!
@@NinjaPulls Thanks for accusing me of trolling and belittling my request when you could have just ignored it. Tells me what I need to know about your channel. Cheers
No accusations were made. I even pre-emptively apologised. Truth is I showed your comment to several officers in the guild and nobody could make heads or tails of it. You seem to be asking me to spend time crafting an extremely specific custom build just for you, while simultaneously having strict roleplay goals into which I have no insight at all. Again, I'm genuinely sorry, but that's just not how this works. And unlike most RUclips channels, we try not to ignore comments and I didn't wanna leave you hanging, just had no clue how to approach this request.
I'm using wraith of the order, is it not good enough? And I have a question, should I use every type of armor? And what are good sets if I don't have DLC and I don't play group content, I don't have any of those monster sets.
Order's Wrath? That's a great set, sure. Crafted sets are easy to get, so their power budget is a little lower than, say, a Perfected trial set. But the difference isn't huge. As for Armor weights, you wanna use Medium AND Light to get the penetration (Light), Critical Damage (Medium) and sustain (either) that you need. The best loadout will depend on the situation. And finally, if you don't play group content you are a) missing out on a major part of the game, and b) unlikely to need big damage anyway, so don't worry too much. Good luck and feel free to join the Discord if you wanna dip your toe into group stuff.
There are addons that macro the light attack weaving for you so you can reach the top tier consistent tryhard light weaving without any effort at all after you set it up
There's an astonishing amount of misinformation and misconceptions about weaving. Having decided to include it as a feature, it makes sense for the devs to lean into it, rather than to pretend it doesn't exist.
Ah OK gotcha. With Arcanist, Ur-Mage and Oakensoul it's become easier for players to avoid Light Attacking if they really want to. Obviously it's a disadvantage to ignore such a basic part of the combat system, but I'd say about 95% of the game can be beaten without weaving. Good luck with it either way!
I dumped over 1Million in damage before even having a proper monster set or set period in trial, basically play style helps with knowledge of your role
😂😂😂😂😂😂 Okay, I bought a month, reached level 50, I have no clue what this guy is on about. Can someone recommend a video for a normal person with 60 hrs of playtime?
What is it you want to know? This video is for players who want to understand and improve their DPS - not really for those who just walked through the door! But happy to help in any way I can. ESO's combat system is pretty dense, so the best recommendation for a new player is to READ your tooltips (skills, gear etc.) and see what everything does and how different attacks and buffs interact while you're doing chill story stuff. Then once you actually need damage you'll be one step ahead of 95% of players! Good luck and feel free to join our Discord if you wanna get some tips!
@@NinjaPulls thanks for the input, I kinda read some guides now and it seems you don't need to reach insane damage numbers to complete most content. I hope that's true, then I'm golden
To me: Set Up/Build: the same clone sets for everybody. Weaving: the same clon way to push buttons once and forever. Rotation: the same three -four skills for all players. Sorry but no way José! Maybe i hit like a grandma but i don't want to play in a clon army. I play in my way cuz i wanna get fun. My respect to ur video.
Fair enough! That's what I say at the start - it's all fine so long as you're not under pressure to bring big DPS. I gotta say though, I don't recognise your description of combat rotations. Then again I'm a Nightblade main, and that never gets boring. Happy hunting!
I know your type. Level 2k, 12k dps at best, normal dungeons take an hour. This is why all my tanks and healers have a dps setup. To make up for your missing damage.
This is such a goofy player base. Add more dps sets and gear... you get tons of complainers whining about power creep. But funnel the best sets down to a select few? More crying. 😂😂
Here is what I personally usually see. Player: I want to play how I want to play the game and not learn proper rotations, weaving, enchants, sets. That's all good, unless like a lot of new players I talked to in my guild, your next line was this. Player: my goal for the game is vet dungeons, HM's and id really like to earn some personalities or skins from the dungeons.... It is possible to mix a bit of both of these goals, but typically the harder content you are pushing, the more and more you will need to start researching what's best. After all, no sane person would bring a knife to a gun fight because "I don't want to copy everyone else".
@@Robert-pt2jz One doesn't need to learn how to max DPS to get HM skins, personality, etc. Who knows they're much better at playing support roles. even if they're not good at playing any roles but have a lot of gold, they can simply buy carry runs. There's always a solution. :D
@StaciRouth I have gone there once and there were a few people casually talking but nothing came about after 10 minutes or so. I may try going there again and give it another shot.
I think the only issue I have with this video is it highlights everything I hate about ESO's combat. Pushing for stat caps and mutilating any form of identity in the pursuit of of just straight sustained DPS with no nuance or variety.
I get that, and I'm not telling anybody how to play. Just how to be effective. Keep in mind that the video is about DPS, not roleplaying. The two aren't always at odds, but if you want one, you must be prepared to compromise on the other. This isn't a trade-off invented by ESO - it exists in almost any comparable game and we have to decide for ourselves what's more important. Good luck and happy hunting!
>the higher your damage, the more fun you will have Meanwhile, 100k+ dps players are the most toxic, raging and overall unbearable people I ever met in ESO I'd say it's better to aim for optimal dps, not maxed out. 100k is great, dont get me wrong, but it's more like a milestone and achievement, rather than the norm. 60-70k is probably more realistic and overall reliable dps, easy enough to get, high enough for 90% of content
Oh no! Sounds like you’ve met some #!*% heads out there. They’re a minority. Ask almost any veteran player and they’ll say the same: those who are genuinely good at ESO are almost always lovely people. It’s the ones in between that have this reputation. Also, keep in mind that there’s been enormous power creep in recent years, and newer content has been balanced for current damage levels. 100k is the new 30k. But ultimately you’re right - I’d rather team up with a great person than a great player. Ideally both!
Corection bosses do massive damage, since every patch come with a huge nerf for players because of the cries from the pvp players. They mess with vampire miss channel because of that. They should do channel in pve and port in pvp. All would be happy.
I play Tank a great deal. Trust me, bosses deal very little damage except in a handful of cases. Anyway, the point is that playing defensively is ultimately a dead end. That’s indisputable I think.
This is the first video I’ve seen that actually made weaving make sense to me. You explain things so explicitly… easy to digest. You have the perfect speaking voice for this stuff. So happy I found this channel. Thank you.
Awesome!! Thanks so much for your kind words - means a great deal to me.
Why are so many people here saying they dont care about their dps when they clicked on a video about improving dps? I think we all know....
lol!!!😂
HE'S GOT A POINT !!
There rlly shit at dps always a excuse
I dunno there's a lot of weird ass people out there who go into videos and post how they don't care about the video subject. It's like how hard is it to keep scrolling by if they don't care? Oh wait..
If someone asked me if I care about my ESO DPS the answer would be no lmao
As an endgame PvE player, I never thought of rotations quite like that. It was always: "Lay down your DoTs, then spam away, taking care not to miss your class gimmick skill (spec bow, Prey, 3 crux beam, talons, etc.)". The layered cake analogy is really clever, and I'll be taking a closer look at my rotations to see how I can improve!
Thank you! I really appreciate your feedback. Maya is a chef, so foodie analogies always come easy to me 🤩
I'm a sorc main and thought nb's bow/incap thing was gimmicky until someone pointed out frags and curse (this was way before bound armaments too 😂)
your rotation is still true and its what everyone except arcanist does, play the boring minigame of keeping buffs and dots up. Which is why the game is so boring for most people and they quit. WoW had dots minigames on like 3-4 builds out of 30.
@@KpK1Ciobydont forget to clicky clicky between every skill too 😂
I much prefer static rotations because I can execute them much better than dynamic rotations.

Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words - feels great to read a comment like this!
Thank you for this video! I've been playing since ESO came out, and I still haven't been able to grasp how dps works on the game. This breakdown of how it works is so much more helpful.
Amazing - thanks for the comment and glad I could help!
same I've had this since release and yet I've never really understood how people get such high Dzp scores
Coming from a certified PvE nerd, who helps a lot of new players this is a great video that I will definitely be sharing. I Say the exact same things but not anywhere near as concisely. Hats off. Great video.
That’s great to hear - thanks for the kind words!
Thanks, I needed this even though I am a long time player.
Love this info!! Again with the knowledge ❤
Concise and to the point! Can't wait for the class vids.
Thank you! Starting on those tomorrow!
Just got back into eso your vids helped a lot thanks man
Fantastic - great to hear!
Well done. Very useful for someone who is just getting into grouping
Awesome!!! Thank you for the feedback!
Good educational video. I hope newer players watch it and follow the advice
Kahn 2024 “ allways be tweaking! “ lol 😂 sorry had to! Love your content! Ty for all your hard work and guides man!
Haha!! Nice one 😝 Thank you for your feedback - much appreciated!
@@ohapplesauce Yeah I know many players who do this - moving around a bit while practising on the dummy, even though there's no need.
Great video thank you
If your character looks like they are having a seizure, you are doing it correctly.
So if DDs are cakes, that would mean the warden cake has the most FROSTING right?
😂😂😂
Yes yes! You get it!
I know it doesnt fall under your usual umbrella but i was wondering what you'd think about making a video to help explain to the newer players some simple generic mechanics (heavy attacks, aoes, interruptables, knowing when youre targetted by an elite and how to deal with it, etc)
Think about it as "you cant deal damage if youre dead" im sure this would be a huge help to them

Absolutely. That’s why we run regular trial/dungeon sessions in our guild.

Thanks man! Really appreciated .
Great video
Would you mind elaborating why you'd use duel daggers on a magicka build, or using a destro staff on a stam build?
Point is to use whatever’s best in a given situation and not get hung up the right/wrong weapons for the character.
destro imho in way better on backbar for stamina than a 2h for content ,if you want to look good hitting dummies then use the 2h on backbar

What are the best crafted sets to wear so that your DPS doesn't suck so badly while trying to farm Relequen that you get kicked from PUGs?
Depends a bit on your class I suppose, but you can’t go far wrong with Order’s Wrath + New Moon Acolyte. Hope that helps!
@@NinjaPulls thanks - I'd been rocking Torug's and Night Mother's Gaze, or Julianos for magicka.

Thank you very much! Really appreciate your feedback. 🤩
What is a normal dmg range for a dps ? I average about 20k/per heavy attack (magplar dps )
So what's the absolute best gear to get if buying it off Traders?
Sorry for the cop-out response, but it really depends on the class and build. For example, Deadly Strike is almost certainly the most popular tradeable set for PvE, but on a Sorcerer for example it'd be rubbish. If you're looking for good sets without having to farm, crafted sets are absolutely fine. Order's Wrath + New Moon Acolyte for example. Hope that helps!
@@NinjaPulls Thanks, will check these sets out!
Is there an app/website where you can build your rotations with the timer bars etc like you show in video?
No. I create these for every rotation/video myself.

But my question is;
Is MS outdated now or is it still considered a fairly good option?
If you mean Mothers Sorrow, then yes it is outdated, but yes it is still a pretty good option! So long as you're clearing, don't sweat it too much.
Wardens are the Nickelback of ESO
Still can hit 100k pretty easily! 🤩
Can you get the preview's armor skin in game or its just Ai generated picture? :)
What about perfected roaring opportunists ??
What about it? This is used as a support set, not a DPS set. When we do our support videos, RO will most definitely be featured.
I want to turn my Arcanist into a DPS-crazy maniac who can pull off decent numbers.

This video supposed to be about parsing but it is about everything else.
I will teach it then:
The best single target set in ESO (relequen) add 2-3K dps. So parsing is all about your skill. Just practice and get good. Gold your weapons. Slot only weapon damage enchants and bloodthirsty. Done.

You helped with the algorithms for this upload 😀
What 2 sets would be consider most powerful that aren’t a trial ? I don’t plan to ever play trials I just do dungeons. Thanks in advance
OK couple of points:

So basically go hybrid lol great message
That’s how the game is designed. It’s been like this for over two years.
How do you check logs?
Somebody needs to log the run through eso logs and then share the link.
I personally won’t abuse a glitch (weaving) that zos gave up on. Great vid as always ❤
you got something like this for pvp???
I’ll do my best to get on that!
@@NinjaPulls AWESOME! 👍ty :)
You said the Highland Sentinel set is rarely usable, I see a lot of builds using that thing for u42 and u43. Why is this set rarely usable?
Read tooltip - you basically can’t move and wear this set, so very niche!
@@NinjaPulls oh I see, so which set are you using in trials? Releq + false god?
Don't forget to mention that over 75% of the content was developed while the max dps was below 50k. 100k is overkill most of the time.
Crying in necromancer
How do you see everyone elses damage? I have cmx for myself, but im nosy
That'll be Hodor Reflexes - it's a pretty standard addon for group content. Hope that helps!
@@NinjaPulls thank youuuuuu
Are trials hard ? Never done them before
All trials are different and you do have varying difficulties.
Website: www.ninja-pulls.com/

My dps is trash and even after watching this video I guarantee it will continue to be trash 😂 guess I’ll stick to hoarding gold and crafting. Why play the game how it’s meant to be played, might as well skip right to the end game housing.
Sure, do what you enjoy! That’s the main thing. But the point of the video is that ANYONE can do this, so don’t count yourself out. Coordinated team play is the BEST thing in ESO by far - whether it’s PvP or trials. So if you’re interested, go for it.
Said all this but didn’t mention getting all your gear gold divines, perfected etc
I do talk about the setup as an important step and have got separate videos and guides on builds, so don’t need to expand beyond that in this video.
Light attack weaving on console hurts my hand
Forget the video, whats that skin
The one at the beginning is the polymorph in the Diamond Crown Crates.
Funny how there's no warden here.
Warden video coming! Don’t worry 😉
Bosses....even in trials relatively low dmg....
Yea, tell that to the one shot mechanics, even on some normal dlc dungeons....
Move in with me in the US
THIS .
Steps 1-2-3 turn of you dmg metter addon. Enjoy. If things die, you are ok
Good luck and feel free to join the Discord if you wanna dip your toe into group stuff.
just use perfect weaving ... perfect weaving by addon...
There are addons that macro the light attack weaving for you so you can reach the top tier consistent tryhard light weaving without any effort at all after you set it up
You mean cheating. Also only on PC.
@@benedwards3427 I mean addons aren't cheating, they just make life easier for you that's why its not been banned since its qol
@@Exhalted1it definitely is a ban-able offense. And it is 100% cheating
What’s your username
I'll be real, I don't care for weaving, but the real problem is when devs design around it existing
There's an astonishing amount of misinformation and misconceptions about weaving. Having decided to include it as a feature, it makes sense for the devs to lean into it, rather than to pretend it doesn't exist.
@@NinjaPulls I don't have problems with it existing, just don't think it should be a heavy requirement to do content.
Probably do damage right.
Anyway know if they have DMG testing dummies lol so I can see my DMG
To me:
Set Up/Build: the same clone sets for everybody.
I wish there was an easy way to join a Trial like it is when doing a daily dungeon or Undaunted. I'm on PS5 so it is probably way easier on PC.
Yeah - finding 11 other people can be tricky! Have you tried the in game trial finder?
Have you tried going to Belkarth in Craglorn? There is always someone looking to fill trials in zone chat. It's hopping on xbox.
@@StaciRouth Very good point! Thanks
@NinjaPulls yes I have tried that a few times but it has always been empty. Maybe I am looking in at the wrong times
No mention of deadly, usally the first set to go with temp or arc..
Not a build video. We have those on our channel and all the info is also on our website.
What 600k or 800k or 400k
>the higher your damage, the more fun you will have
Meanwhile, 100k+ dps players are the most toxic, raging and overall unbearable people I ever met in ESO
I'd say it's better to aim for optimal dps, not maxed out.
Why are we seeing a bunch of crap political abortion ads on ESO RUclips now and all one sided, against the law.
22k take it or leave it.
So long as you're good company we'll TAKE it! Might stay away from hard modes though... 😊
