Thanks for a cracking build. Set it up yesterday (non trial gear) and getting up to 60K in public dungeons. Only change I made was skill order to help me remember rotation. yes I'm old 🙂 1. Barb, 2. Blade, 3.Harness, 4.Puncture (repeat) then 5.Rad (at 20%). going to try it on vMA later then on to Trials for Whorl gear.
This is a surprisingly good build with some nice insights, I myself would prefer having a trial set but that would increase the difficulty in putting it together.

I'm gonna build this to get the skin from Vvh . 1 thing though, necromancer is the best res'er in the game, being able to res multiple allies with 1 button instantly is hard to beat.
Great info! Any chance of a 0 to Hero leveling guide and build for the Magika Templar? So many I see are a bit dated and focus on Rest staff and Dest Staff swap. Thanks! Quite a few new players in the latest expansion so would help a load!

Question: Why would you use Power of the Light instead of Purifying Light for a magicka build in your written guide?
I've been testing magplar builds for Oakenbroke and I tried using Power over Purifying just to see what would happen. I lost thousands of DPS for that one change. It's not a hybridized skill, it's based on weapon damage or spell damage (not both, like most skills currently are). And with this build, you're stacking into spell damage. You're recommending Ghastly Eye Bowl food, you're recommending all 64 attribute points into magicka.
You're losing DPS if you're using Power over Purifying, and what's more, if you want to use the skill while playing solo, Purifying also has a heal built in. I strongly recommend rethinking that recommendation.
Odd that you get better numbers with purifying light, I found I got a slight dam boost with PoL over Purifying Light (running Deadly strikes and war Maiden). I tested it a few ways, in isolation one at a time, by doing the skill and then 3 sweeps each time and recording the results for 60 times each just to try to get rid of random fluctuation in numbers (then dividing the total by the amount of times I did it), then doing a few minutes at a time where I tried to keep up the skill once it ran out and otherwise just sweeping to try and simulate a more realistic use of the skill. Overall, I found in my numbers that PoL did slightly better in my tests. But one thing is def the buff that PoL provides. If you are not playing with a tank (or a good tank) having the extra Minor Breach is always nice. Not to mention with the skill costing stam you can preserve your mag pool a bit. Spread out your use of resources more evenly (granted not good for a boss with lots and lots of dodge rolling, found that out in HM on Castle Thorn). But if u get better numbers with purifying then def use it.
My guess is that you get fracture/breach with Power which is is the only way you can get that here. Not sure you really need the extra heal with jabs. The loss in DPS is concerning though.
@@marleypoppins-- I def noticed the Magick dam type of Purifying Light and the Physical Dam of PoL. That is why I decided to do some extensive testing to see what numbers I actually got. I was actually surprised I got better numbers with PoL. I also did the same with a couple of my CP points like Deadly aim doesn't buff my sweeps directly yet I was getting better numbers using it than my next best alt (Biting Aura) so I spent a good couple hours running tests to see the actual damage and I found I get better damage with Deadly than I do with Biting Aura (this was before High Isle hit). So I think it is buffing things like Burning light and some of my other skills which is why I get better results with it. I noticed the same discrepancy which is why I spent so much time testing it. Honestly, I am not sure why I am getting better numbers with PoL but I have spent a good bit of time testing it and that is what I find. If I could find the paper I wrote my results on around here I could share with you my numbers. But like I said to the OP if u r getting better numbers with Purifying then def use it but as far as I can tell I am getting better numbers with PoL but only by a couple K.
Minor breach.
If you test on trial dummy you won't see the added benefit of Minor Breach as it's already built into the dummy.
Setting up this one bar build with the starter gear. Question is what can be used instead of Iceheart ( Head & Shoulder) that will complement the rest of this set up? I am not good at Dungeons (Shout out to the Hubby who tries to teach me LOL) so Farming these Dungeon pieces is not an option just yet. I do not want to add something that will take away from the build. I follow alot of your guides and they are super helpful. I just did not see an alternative to this one, Would Magnus work? I noticed its listed in a bullet point but not what its interchangeable with. TIA

If you put on reaving blows cp your sweeps are cracked.

Not having Major Breach on a build like this seems like a bit of an oversight, especially in solo settings. I would probably switch out blazing spear or barbed trap for caltrops or Elemental Drain - but other than that, it is absolutely perfect! Thanks!
You get that in group. For solo, you can reach cap by using caltrop and power of the light. Depending on how many medium armour pieces, may also use force of nature slottable for extra pen and of course lover. Easy fix. Full pen. Good luck.
Edit: TL:DR: 4 Mediums 3 Light, Caltrops, PoT, Lover.

Well god dang it, this is almost the exact same build as I use, the only difference being, I use a 2 handed axe, some nice extra crit damage, and instead of Harness Magica, I use Carve, love the extra DOT, and used right can almost have the shield up permanently, also helps with Magic sustain and it hit’s like a freight train!
Nice, what trait and enchantment do you use with that axe sir?

Just tried 2H axe, precise. Dps jumped from 52.5k base game dummy to 59k. That’s without carve or ulti.

Just wanted to say a big thank you Lucky! I've been playing for a week now, already past 160cp and i have oakensoul, order's wrath 5/5, nirn 5/5/ slimecraw. As I followed all your other guides for leveling scrying/the guilds/weaving/deconstruction and all the good stuff you've got me really fast into the game and being somewhat mediocre for only 1 week, although I have MMO exp it is still testiment to your amazing guides and their quality. Please keep up the good work!
do you put any skills into the dual wield line?
Is the Barbed trap still worth for the DOT, now that Oakensoul gives minor force instead of major ?
Also is the Puncturing sweeps nerf not that bad? as i see its still the spammable on the updated written guide
For the hemorrhaging damage it does it is massive, though to be honest you can slap something like a morphed entropy in there and get some extra passive heals which also targets multiple mobs so long as you apply it.
Will this build still work after the templar nerfs?
How's this build looking next patch? I mainly play healer and tank and was looking to make a magplar dps for the first time using this build.

Well. I made the EXACT same thing. Used the rotation step by step, everything... First mob of Dragonstar Arena fucked me in seconds... This don't work
How does this fare with the recent nerf? [EDIT] - I note your page states that it's updated for U35... I'll give this a bash, as I really want to use Oakenarse now I spent a headache getting the bloody thing! :p
I copied this build to the T exactly. I'm only hitting mid 30k 32-38k parse. So I have no idea what I'm doing wrong

So the only difference I've done so far is deadly instead if pillar of nirn * I'm still grinding for that set* and I'm using 2 hand instead of daggers and I can only hit about 20k dps not 100k. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

I think with the actual nerfed oakensoul you won't get anywhere near 100k and even then you're animation canceling a lot. Also this may have been pre-jabs nerf. Should update the build or at least edit the title

Jabs didn't take a nerf. What they did was, instead of 6 hits less damage a hit its like 3 hits, more damage a hit if memory serves me correctly.
This build absolutely does not hit 100k today, And there's no way it was a few months ago when this was posted. It says on the website it's updated for patch 36....yet still claiming 100k dps. Top end, it hits about 80k, and that's swapping the absorb mag enchant for poison on the dagger.
Where in the video is your dps meter? Is this 100k single target dps or AoE?
How about using a 2h? It hard to find a build with 2h weapons, most use dualweapons or bow for stam and staffs for mag :D (one bar)
Hi there! Is this build still viable with so many oakensoul major buffs getting nerfed back to minor? Also, I noticed in the written guide, barbed trap has been swapped out for ritual of ret is both the solo and group bars, but is still listed in the skill tree?
Idk how you're hitting 100k man. Running deadly, whorl, and oakensoul and can barely hit 60k. I barely let anything drop off either. My main is a magden and I hit 91k on that..
100k is bullshit without using a back bar.
I'm hitting 78k with Medusa and False Gods, so I can definitely see 100k with this build or pretty close to it.
@@chrisdfx1 Are you aware that when you use the trial dummy to get your 70 something K that the dummy gives you almost all of the buffs that oakensoul gives? You have the advantage on the dummy of not only getting these buffs but also being able to use two bars to layer more skills into a rotation.
@@waggy007 I know, I'm doing 78k with Oakensoul, Perfected False Gods and Medusa. I parse 120k on avg with 2 bars, but it's just easier playing all non trials content with Oakensoul.

You should make a mid maxed Nightblade one bar that I can do everything on. Everyone makes templars. I’m tired of complicated DPS rotations
so with this build trial setup can you run kinras over pillar and still get high dmg? and can it still solo vma and vet vate with the trial setup whorl and nirn?
You don’t need Kinras’s because you’re getting the buffs from Oakensoul ring 😊

Go Templar since Sorc is getting nerfed, you can read the Patch notes for more info. Looks like Necro is the upgrade.
i build exactly the same build on the pts server, but this build drops onlx 30k dps max, hmmmmmm EDIT: i can push it on 56k, but its not 100k. Why dont u use a DPS window in your video?

I’ve been running a mag guild skill for the passives. With the ring, is there any reason to do that now vs switching to fighters guild? I’m running a lightning staff so will likely keep that ultimate but wondering if it’s worth switching to fighters guild for passives on my main abilities. Seems mostly a trade off of damage (FG) vs magika/mag recovery (MG).
my sustain was insane with this build, so I'd gladly give up sustain passives in mages guild for damage in fighters guild (which is what we did here)

My magika is pretty low anyone know my issue? Or is this because I have no buff food on? High elf all passives 64 in magika.
hey is it possible when u visit some1 home to hack their chest? its just my acc is not hacked its secure but my alchemy chest was full of mats from years ago and new the chest is empty but not sure how long its been empty (i put some in today), i also noticed few other chests were empty 1 or 2, or did patch wipe them or did they wipe it with maintenance? its only the chests nothing is gone from the bank there are mats there to mats that i may need more if i make new char for example

Retweaked my magplar and with daggers got 52.5k on base game dummy. Lstaff got 49.5k. (Without ulti or RG). With ele drain got 52.1k
I’m kinda confused , I’m reading the written guide and the skills for one bar. But when I look at rotation, it lists different skills. Can you pls help with rotation for one bar?

You can't switch to the back bar even if you want to. My solo magicka Templar build shows the two bar loadout for skills if you want to throw stuff on back bar

I really wanna try SnB with this type of build. It just feels right for Templar’s to use SnB or a Greatsword 😅 but I feel like it won’t put out as much damage but oh well worth a shot and having fun
greatsword wouldnt be a huge dmg loss if you wanted to do that :)

Is use SnB for running casual content and nDungs. I switch to great sword for solo content and groups.
It’s not a easy 100k on the dummy, which is why you do not have a parse clip. It is however a solid build.

i hate that u can't make a good long rage templar, that templar doesn't have good skills for it
same with DK mage, close range mage just brakes immersion, mage should be long range (unless ur battle mage with med or heavy armor meaning also same bonuses as light armor), so fire breath should be 30m for mage

I made a solo stam warden building hitting the same numbers if not a little higher with no execute. If your bored I’d look into stam warden the dot and bleed from main spammable is gross

This seems like a fun build. I'm going to try this and a few of the other one bar builds you've created - and try playing them on a macro pad. I think the one bar concept would be perfect, as you could create a custom etched key cap set for each class ability and play in a fun casual way.

The build can still be viable, but you’re not parsing nowhere near 100k lol
@LuckyGhost how would the ring work with a Frost Warden?? Im not the huge math/function gear testers that a lot of yall are, but I love aspects of classes, and this looks for. Plus, Im old and have dexterity issues, so One Bar DPS toons are better for me. Thanks for all the content btw!!

I must just be absolute trash at this game. I almost have everything this build says. Just missing bloodthirsty on 2 rings and no slimecraw helm. I cannot keep my magicka steady, I cant stay alive worth a shit. What am I doing wrong here? It doesnt make sense to me man.
I have same problem. It's like content creators are hiding something from us. We are doing the same builds or something. The most I can hit is 20-25 k. I have briarheart and war maiden, these two are very aggressive builds, but I still can't do damage like a man. i have 500 hours gametime
Hey for some reason my Puncturing Sweeps IV only shows I'm healing for like 33%, not 41% as listed in your tooltip. Am I missing something?

How do you manage mana? Does the light armor absorb shield give enough when you are hit along with the gear/food you are using? I can't seem to spam skills enough without having to charge up using a staff.
food, potions on cooldown, light armor passives, CP, class passives. make sure you have all the passives, make sure you're using those potions as soon as you're able to to have max uptime on the regen they give

In your written guide you have Relequeen as an alternative for Nirn, so which one is better? Even if marginally.
I spent the last few days putting this build together (non trial gear) and I run out of magicka in the first 60 sec of a fight. Am I missing something?

why does the written guide have "Whorl of the Depths" but on the video you say to use order's wrath? am i missing something?

You keep saying 21% on the radiant spell, but the spell says 50%. Why waste it by waiting longer?
Because it does more damage the lower the enemy health. Therefore at about 21 percent it starts doing more damage than sweeps

If you are using oakensoul do not forget to swap it out for something else if you run the cloudrest trial. The Voltaic Overload mechanic will kill your team.

From what I've read the game detects you are using Oakensoul and you don't have to swap it out, so long as you don't have a weapon on your back bar.
Hey man, using this build and really in love with it but just one question can you maybe do a solo onebar build for magicka necro as well? I really wanna try it but not really good with swapping bars and couldnt find an one bar build yet so would love if you could make one
