Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup ruclips.net/user/postUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.
Super helpful.. taking my 2 boys fishing tomorrow and I have only ever fished with other people that knew what they were doing.. This video helped a ton !!!!
I've fished ever since I was little, but no one ever showed me how to set up my rod! Thanks for the easy how-to. I would love to learn more about what bait to use for which fish, (Freshwater, pond and lake, Midwest. So bluegill, sunfish, bass, crappie, and the occasional carp.) and how to replace or repair an old reel. I have two that seem to have gone bad (tension no longer adjusts on one, and the other the thumb release no longer catches after reeling the line in a little. Oh, I guess a couple of other tutorials would be parts of the reel (basic knowledge, should be something I already know, but I don't), and seasonal maintenance of the rod and reel. I am using cheap stuff from Wal-mart (Shakespeare mainly), and mainly spincast reels.
I was a little embarrassed that I had toenail clippers in my tackle box instead of small scissors or a multitool or something that looks a little more rugged. This video made me feel a lot better 😂
Split shot in the USA the pack of weights are called splitshot UK invention lol.Any USA anglers have a look at Angling Direct in the uk they have a website.
Awesome how to video!!! I'd like to see you do a review on slim line in 4lb or 6lb what ever you prefer for crappie!!! I hear it is awesome line & very strong line & abrasion resistant!! It comes in hi vise green witch I like so I can see on the tip of my longer rods for detecting upward crappie bits!!
Whenever we use the red/white bobbers, they don't float right if the white side is up...they try and flip over. They only actually float right with the red side up.
Terrible floats anyway we use them only now and again for pike but even then we use pike floats.American floats bobbers look terrible I would be embarrassed using them in the uk .Have a look at our floats then you will see amazing gear same as our tackle in general.www.AnglingDirect.co.uk .
That would depend on the depth of the water that you are fishing. Most of the time when using a fixed bobber like the one in the video, you would set it between 1-5ft above the hook. Any further up than 5ft, I would recommend using a slip bobber. I have a couple videos on using this type of bobber.
I’m new to fishing. Thanks for the video! I also live in WI! Go Brewers, Packers, Bucks, and Badgers woo woo!!!
Wow! Super informative! Just started fishing and I don’t like depending on others to fix my rod. Now I can do it on my own. Awesome!
Glad it was helping!

Sorry that’s not true.
Didnt know Joe Rogan was fishing
Lol
How far down do you put weight down?
I would start by placing the weight about 6 inches above the hook.
OK thanks bud
@@alenyegiyants9254 you're welcome
