"It isn't always the size of the fish...sometimes it's the width of the smile it brings" I hope I remember that, my sons going to think I'm as wise as Master Splinter if I come out with something like that 😂
Being good at something is easy. But being good and being able to teach it to others in a simple way is hard. And these videos are as informative as they can be. Brilliant videos
Eisenstein Said you don't truly understand something unless you can explain it Simply but i like it how it was attributed to him better "You don't truly understand something unless you can explain it as to a child"
It is mad how I’m am an experienced specimen carp angler yet I still love to watch your videos aimed at beginners purely because I just love watching you two!!
I wish you had your own TV show. Your laidback and friendly delivery is such a pleasant change from the geezery/laddish/oi oi type blokes you get on fishing programmes usually
This is such a great video. My grandad started me on a "whip" rather then a rod and it's such a great, simple way to fish. Teaches watercraft and fishing without the stresses of tangles, knots and other distractions. Really good to see you championing there use again.
My father taught me how to fish with only the line and then the line wrapped around a can of Soda or beer. This, because I can't yet figure out how to handle a rod without fussing and tangling the line on it 😂. Using the can of soda it's so easy for me.
I just started fishing. I did it as a way to spend time with my son. We’re both learning so it’s rad, I watch a shit ton of fishing on RUclips so I feel I’m learning a lot and putting the info to use when I’m out with my boy. He thinks I’m a pro which is kind of funny m, but he’s 8 so I’m not saying anything except that I’m always learning. Don’t want to break that “hero dad” stuff haha
My boyfriend wanted us to start fishing together as couple. Now, I'm here trying to learn. This was a very helpful first HOW-TO video. Simple/direct to the point and with demonstrations.
I remember my first whip. Little 2m thing i bought on a trip to norfolk broads. Was fishing over side of boat everytime we stopped. I probably had about 200lb of bits over the 3 days we were there. Was literally a fish every chuck.
Brilliant video. I started fishing about 2 weeks ago. So far I've had 4 trips and haven't caught anything yet. Not discouraged in any way. Just learning more and practicing more. I'll try with Corn today and use your method. Thanks again for the tips!
There are several things to remember. 1) 90% of the fish can be found in 10% of the water (they are not evenly spaced out, so don't be afraid to try different spots). 2) Not every bait works on every water (certainly not on a consistent basis). 3) Temperature can cause the fish to move to different depths (so, if you're not catching at one depth, try a different one). 4) Fish like underwater structure (it gives them protection). So, try the edge of reed beds, or around any fallen branches.
It made me smile when you said "I remember catching theese when we were just kids" it just reminds me that it doesn't matter how old you are you can still be excited for things you used to do. And great video as always 👍
Haven't been fishing since I was a young boy and forgot a lot of things but I wanna take my 6 year old son fishing in the near future. I really appreciate this video brother 🙏
Great video, thank you. Amazing how many "total beginner" fishing tutorial videos assume you know a plethora of terminology. This is the first i've watched that left no questions.
The most important thing is don't get discouraged, no matter your skill level you WILL loose fish, especially big ones. But it's all worth it when you get them out.
i used to fish with my grandad and remember enjoying it alot, now he has passed i have the time and money to do it myself i have finally built a kit myself and am ready for the next week to start! i really enjoy this channels videos! very helpful and im gooing to be watching some once i get down there next so i can make some of my own rigs pondside :) thanks mate! looking forward to seeing your new vids and also watching some on the fly while im out :)
What a brilliant video to get anyone started for wants to start angling …. Even though I knew exactly what was expected in the video I still had to watch it… we are never too old to learn !! Learning how to unhook fish and care for fish has got to be one of the most important parts of the learning process …. Secondly I would probably say care of the environment I.e take your little home !! Careful when going on your own as well as it’s always best to take someone with you and if you’re a young one let people know where you are going just in case. Don’t share your favourite fishing spot though 🤣🤣… Great videos guys as always and it’s even better watching it on the big screen 📺 😀👍🏽🎣🎣
i remember while i was carp fishing my sister would sit at the side of me with a whip an a 1 single maggot, pulling skimmers, perch an roach out all day long, she got a take an it bent the whip right around an never ever surfaced an snapped her off, would have loves to have known what that fish was, it felt really big tbh. great nostalgic video mate, might even order myself a 5m whip an just get out for a hour after work. love it
This calming, serene atmosphere you create in this video is exactly why I want to learn fishing. This is the second video I've watched on how to learn fishing and it's so incredibly helpful. Thank you. I would love to know how fishing rods, bait, etc. are usually stored. They seem so huge!
I sat and enjoyed everything I already knew, great work guys for the kids and unexperienced fisherman, tight and happy line to all. Thank you for link to rod licences link, as I'm coming down soon, as I cant wait to fish your waters.
Finally new content brilliant to see you guys doing so much for the viewers great work guys keep it up 👍 and it’s brilliant you guys have started with the licensing most people that are new don’t even know you need this 💙💙💙💙

Hi been fishing Canada most of my Life, 50 plus years lol, your Video is great really liked how you explained everything about fishing to the first Timers in the UK. You probably know fishing over here, is an opened sport, only needing Permission in very few spots. Really enjoyed Thanks
I'm just starting looking to go out fishing after a free 4-5 day introduction and I feel like I'm going to be checking out stuff from you and this channel a lot. Definitely need to watch that disgorger video.
I watched numerous of your videos before my first fishing trip! Decided to straight in and get a beginner kit, for car fishing. Mate of mine helped me set up shown me everything and I caught a 11 pound leather :) was amazing and I was still happy and shaking an hour after putting it back in lol! Can’t wait for my next trip this weekend
Thos video is such a treat. Ive been fishing for a while but it's really joce to someone thoroughly enjoying a bit of fishing and taking soecial care to be gentle with the fishies. Keep on keepin on 😊

Been thinking about starting up fishing, and thanks to this video I was out at me local shops fishery today, has a great afternoon out after work, thanks for the tips
Many thanks for this. Moved to a stretch of the Thames where you can legally fish for free and have decided today to give it a try. Not knowing anyone who fishes, and having never done it before, I have not much support to learn but this was calm enough to make me think this is what I should try first without it appearing baffling and scary. I'd love to see a follow on video or two to help those with little or no resources/confidence to grow into this past time. Subscribed!
Here’s a little tip, go with someone who knows what there doing if you can, you’ll learn more and it’ll be less frustrating. If you can’t just ask anglers on the water to help, generally us fisherman are really friendly and love to help 👍
Still got my first whip, Garbolino Albus 5m from Argos. Its a good 25yrs old, elasticated top 2 incase hooked odd bigger fish, and my kids now use it learning how to fish for smaller species. Great fun, inexpensive and hardly any tackle needed.
I'm fishing already 3 years but this still helps also I'm so glad to see tench! In my country he is very rare compared to 10-20years ago,I hope you lads catch some pb's soon :)
What a fantastic video thank you so much. I never really got taught how to fish always wanted to but now I have found your videos I will definitely be giving it a go. Thank you mate really helpful and great to see your enthusiasm 🎣

Great video. Angling Direct are giving away free Poles to kids (have to be there when you shop) when you spend over £10, its pretty much the same setup as whats shown here, rod, hook and float setup and a bag of bait.
What I see a lot with people getting into fishing pulling the whip or rod to hard when you catch one and not using a net so if the fish is same size as your hand needs to be netted if it’s smaller than your hand you don’t need to use the net but it’s recommended for people just starting just use the net for any size fish hope that helps anyone
Didn’t know you guys lived so close! I fished this lake for matches when I was younger 10years or so ago! Would love to see you guys down here one day!
