- HITACHI HDS721616PLA380 3.5" disassembly. This video will show how to take apart hard disk, necessary screw and cable removals. This drive was taken apart just for fun, if dust gets inside to the disk chamber, it will damage it permanently.

A little bit late, but I tore down two other similar HDD's. The screw driver is a Torx 8 (T8H/TR8).
sometimes you need other size Torx, I could not believe a company used 2 different sizes in the same assembly. Like it was some sick joke, it was the bearing screws holding the disks. T8 and T7, I have even needed a T6 on some laptop hard drives.
Please tell me what size screw driver I need to do this
A couple torque bits under t10
what size of hex screw?
What size? Was the hdd and pls look on my page what to do with the parts. All diy
What screwdriver are you using??

Why is there rubber on the underside of the cover? 1:08
an extra layer of protection to prevent dust from entering
