I have 2,5 inch Hitachi drive, it suddenly dead, I have another hitachi drive with the same size and model which is still alive , I swap the pcb but it still not working, i didn't hear the dive spinning, is it the motor failure?
OMG, I watched each screw being unscrewed and patiently waited for him to cast aside the only reason I watched this video. How do you take the motor out?
@@carloisdoingstupidtechstuff Please, never use flat in place of other screws. Cheaper to get new set of screwdrivers than new component due to damages.
Broke mine in the process, but now I know how to do it and I wasn't using that one in the first place so it is what it is 👍🏻
25 people don't know how to put their hard drive back together lol

A wild guess:
1) Contact problem
2) Improper platesplacement
3) dust that prevents free movement (friction)
How do you take the motor out of hard drives like these? There is no viable screws...

@@arroyoruy You don't. Not the easy way at least. You have to cut motor from the aluminum case.
woah wait a minutes that same Jar Disk storage?
What size is the torx screwdriver you used? Was it a T6?
you can also use a small flat head screwdriver if you don't have any torx screwdriver
@@carloisdoingstupidtechstuff Not good advice at all. Will damage either the screw, screwdriver, or both! Speaking from long experience.
thanks i found my answer.lol@@carloisdoingstupidtechstuff

WTF i need to know the name of these components?!
Hi what size Torx hex screwdriver are you using?
Torx6 for most laptop hard drives
That's T6
T6 for most but sometimes the PCB screws need a T4.
T6 best to open hard drives
@@mtrmann i am going to buy t4 and t6 included package depending on your information. I hope this is true man.
no ones showing the screwdriver head.. i know its not philips.. uggh
