Raven and Murphy have such a deep respect for one another. With similar backgrounds and opposites strengths that just compliment each other's 'weaknesses' (if they even have any). It's a beautiful thing.

Murphy and Emori truly love each other. They are each other’s true love. But, there is a difference between true love and a soulmate. Your parents truly love you and Bellamy truly loves his sister. Soulmates are different.
Raven makes Murphy a better person. When did he ever sacrifice himself, be selfless before getting close with Raven? Raven is the one who put the idea of morality over immortality in Murphy’s head.
In season 7, Murphy’s second chance should be Raven.

I think Emori is the better fit for John. Murphy loves raven but he's in love with Emori. Raven doesnt have the patience for Murphy.
But i do agree Murphy and Raven make eachother a better person. They're both guarded people who really only showed vulnerability with each other from seasons 2 to 5
I think 1:24 when Raven says boo-hoo in response to Murphy's childhood trauma story made him realize that he needed to prove his self worth to his people and himself. Everyone has been fairly lenient towards Murphy's behavior up to that point and Raven, in that moment made him realize that his childhood experiences don't excuse his behavior. Re-watching the series I noticed after this point he started growing as a character.
Their relationship, for whatever it is, is my favorite thing in the world.
Part of me is glad it's not pushed into romance, because that quickly kills ships for me for some reason. They built a chemistry around the characters, and didn't push a romantic relationships as a whole on these two. Far before I cared for the ship, I cared for them as individuals. These two are my favorite characters in the show, and honestly probably my fav ever. As individuals, and together. They showed the ups, the downs, and everything in between. The fact that other people see it makes me love it even more.
This edit is really good at depicting that, and it's one of my favorite edits for them, and I fucking love it. Like a lot. Hh. Okay I'll shut up.
