This is an amazing edit. Really does justice to the depth and dynamic of how this friendship is written, and especially how it's acted. This is like a highlights-showcase of some of their most incredible acting moments, the sort of thing which could be used to show a non-fan just how high-quality this show really is. Your exact timing for how you cut scenes is really amazing (my favorite is the moment where Murphy smirks after the "this is like your fifth chance" "yours too, Murphy" exchange, because it really is a smirk worth resting on for a moment and appreciating, before he goes defensive again and says his next line ... really great choice of cut there, lets us really appreciate that split second). I love the order you used for telling their story. Seriously, this is just so cool. I've never before been all that active in a fandom or watched video edits about anything, but videos like these really make me appreciate what a legitimate kind of fanart this is. When I watched this episode, even before finishing it, I think I replayed this scene like five or six times in a row before I could move forward. Such an incredible scene, and such incredible acting. TITUS. It came to me the second I hit the button lol. My brain wouldn't let go of "Silas" but I know that's the guy from 3% (amazing show btw, 3rd season fell flat but would recommend S1/S2 highly)
One of my all-time favorite moments. And one of the very few where he drops the mask for a split second. I'm so delighted that this video cuts juuuust after that second instead of skipping it. It's a great example of how insanely complex the acting is and how layered the characters and their histories are. This show communicates SO MUCH through quick facial expressions and tiny bits of information-buried-in-backstory that you really have to think through. It's incredible. The actors make it possible for the story to be so rich despite the limited screen time.
Murphy's reaction to Josephine calling him John. That is all you need to know how much clarke actually means to him. People give Murphy so much shit, but he cares for his friends so much. He deserves redemption. I love their relationship. He knows how much she cared for Lexa, and she knows how much he cares for Emori. One of the best friendships on the show in my opinion.
Murphy and Clarke’s relationship is really amazing to me! They’ve both been through so much just to survive and that has made them both cockroaches, which is something I’m really happy that they can bond over. Even if Murphy does judge Clarke for the things she’s done, I think he only does that because he also judges himself for the things he’s done. I think they see a lot of themselves in each other, which creates a really deep connection that they don’t even have to voice to realize it. After all these years, it really warms my heart to see how Murphy reacted to Clarke’s death in season 6. The second he realized Clarke was gone, he gave up, because he knew if Clarke was gone then it was all over. He has relied on her to give him hope and the second he realized she was alive, he shed a tear because he knew he could return to that hope. Murphy fights to survive and betrays people to do so but, when Clarke is in charge, Murphy can actually just relax and let her fight for him and I think he takes comfort in that. Even if she has to make hard choices to keep him and everyone else alive, he’s relieved that he doesn’t have to fight and make those choices for himself and that makes him a appreciate her a lot. Their friendship is really something and I hope we see a little more of it before the show is over.
I think Murphy has had the most character development in my opinion. this show has shown the most character development I’ve seen in a long time. Just like Clark said I was very proud of Murphy this season he had shown parts of him I’ve never seen before and he actually cared about people which I loved. None of them would be there if Murphy wasn’t there I’m so happy he was in the season and alive I love him
I always liked Murphy a lot but this last season I feel he judged Clarke too much despite all the mistakes he made...I wish he had at least supported Clarke when everyone was upset with her, since he knows better than anyone about making bad decisions ....
Totally agree with you but maybe it's the fact that he knows how it feels and when he was held a countable it did better.....and maybe he it trying to do that for Clarke? But so true he should lay off cuz he did bad things too
I think he really did understand her and support her more than he showed, it was just hard to see it because his resentment and frustration was also on the surface. I think the part where Clarke was willing to sacrifice/experiment on Emori (even though I completely agree with Clarke's reasoning, Emori was an idiot and brought that on herself) really hurt Murphy in a way that wasn't just about anger, but was about him being vulnerable, since it was the first time he'd really loved anyone besides himself, so that affected him uniquely and makes him have a certain fear of trusting Clarke again. So that's what shows on his surface. But inside, we got to see really early in Season 6 that he fundamentally cares about her and wants her to be okay. When he shot at her and Bellamy during the Red Sun, it was to keep Bellamy from turning on Clarke and attacking her -- and then at the moment when he comes in and sees Clarke with the radio ... man, I still get goosebumps every time I think of that scene. But yeah, I think Richard's acting speaks for itself in that scene. So yeah, point is, I too would have liked to see Murphy be more supportive of Clarke, in the sense that if I were their friend I would be telling him to lighten up -- but as a character, I think Murphy was doing exactly what Murphy needed to do, and that he really did care about Clarke on the inside, he just needed his hard shell on because he was still afraid she'd betray him again.
I didn't realize I loved their friendship so much until the last season. It was then that I realized Murphy was always the one who told Clarke like it was without any BS. He never coddled her or tried to help her feel good about her decisions. He was always real with her and I think Clarke learned to appreciate that despite his attitude. Also Murphy learned to appreciate Clarke for being able to make the hard decisions even when the result wasn't all that clean. Because she did it for them.
I love Murphy. I love how his relationship with everyone has developed over the course of the show, especially Bellamy. I really hope they get a chance to have him and Clarke become better friends too though. They are like each others honest friend that's a little mean but always ends up on your side when things go haywire. I am a little terrified that he will die in the final season and if that happens I will be devastated, he deserves a happy ending after all the crap he has been through. I'd also appreciate a little more Raven time too.
For me Murphy has the best character development. I'm so proud if him. His kindness and goodness is innate. Despite being casted, blamed, tortured, acussed, and all the bad things happened to him, the goodness in him is still bigger no matter what.
Murphy and Clarke. Their dynamic is just FASCINATING to me. Every interaction is just so full of feeling; layers and layers that just keep getting more and more complicated as the show progresses. Both of them have done a lot of bad and both of them know it. Despite how much bad blood they have, neither can justify demonizing the other because they’re well aware that they are also guilty. They clearly have some level of respect for each other as the show goes on, but they can’t really justify being *friends* either thanks to all of the bad blood from the past. They both have had mutual friends, and they’ve had mutual enemies. They have both hurt each other, and have both helped each other. They have shared trauma, but they’re also caused each other trauma. Their backstories are also mirrored: Clarke is from a privileged family, her dad tried to help her and the rest of their people and got floated for it. Murphy is presumably middle to lower class, his father tried to help him and got floated for it. They both fell out with their mom afterwards, but Clarke got reconciliation with hers while Murphy didn’t. Clarke took on a leadership role and as a result a lot of people grew to respect her and depend on her, and she does her best to help them. At the same time, this means when things go wrong or hard decisions have to be made, Clarke gets the brunt of the blame and anger. Murphy is the group delinquent which means a lot of people blame him for things that aren’t his fault, just like Clarke. But also like Clarke, people come to him for uglier jobs because he’s actually weirdly dependable in certain situations. Their priorities are also similar with just slight differences; Clarke is “my group must survive at all costs,” whereas Murphy is “I must survive at all costs.” Murphy is often portrayed as the bad guy for his version of ‘survival above all else’ mentality, but really why is it different? If you’re prioritizing your people over anyone else, that really isn’t THAT different from prioritizing yourself above all else, especially when you’re an outcast (like Murphy), making YOU your own people. Murphy and Clarke are actually SUPER similar with just a few key differences that make them SEEM super different without really digging into it. And honestly? I think they come to understand and respect this about one another. That’s the vibe I get from their relationship anyways. Just pay close attention to their interactions, and maybe if you have some free time/are bored some day once you’re caught up, rewatch some of their scenes from compilations or something. Every single one of their interactions is just brimming with complexity and it just keeps getting more and more complicated with every season. They hit like every major platonic relationship trope: enemies to friends, friends to enemies, rivals, foils/mirrors, they’re both often scapegoats, etc. Absolutely insane relationship, probably my favorite in the whole show, and WAY under appreciated by fans.
John Murphy is the most tricky character, sometimes I hate him, sometimes I love him. But he has definitely changed since season 1 and he is so much better ❤️
Murphy & octavias character development is the best ones I’ve ever seen in any show. Murphy learned that being selfless wasn’t bad, that it was okay to risk everything for the people you love, Clarke taught him that.
when Clark says that she was proud of Murphy I think they should’ve had their first hug it would have been perfect. When Josephine told Murphy Clark was dead the shock. In his eyes just rewatch that part at the beginning!!!!
I feel like Clarke and Murphy have a love/hate friendship. Its so special. For one or another reason they keep saving eachothers as-. They fight a lot but they care about eachother and would cry if one died.
They argue but usually when they're together they are in agreement with each other (post season 1 they had like one scene where Murphy called her out).
Murphy was such a good character and his progression was the best compared to all the other characters. After that trip to the city of light with Jaha and meeting Emori, that was the beginning of the growth of his character.
This is the best edit of the 100 it is very moving for a fan and at the same time shows someone who is not a fan how it is very good series it also shows the best character developement of pop culture
Beautiful video! An underrated friendship. Just another quality relationship from The 100 that was mistreated and neglected by the writers. I probably will never not be bitter about so many things on this show. So much wasted potential.
John really exploited her death but she was the first person to told him 'I'm proud of you' everyone around him always shove on his face that he's just the cockroach, the greedy one around but Clarke saw him in another way 😭
I was definetly waiting for this video all my life. I really wish we can see more often their friendship because they grown up together. All the mistakes ang all the good things they did was seen by them. They know their worst and best moods and i can feel their love for eachother even we can not see in the show generally. So i am really glad for this video and i can not wait season 7 for this friendship!!
IDK HOW MANY FUCKING TIMES I HAVE WATCHED THAT SCENE WHEN HE SAID: “just so you to know, Josephine called me John” AND ALL THE TIMES I CRY I LOVE THE WEIRD FRIENDSHIP THAT THEY HAVE AND HOW MURPHY TREATS HER, IDK IT IS DIFFERENT BUT I LOVE IT
I love how even though they aren't the bestist of friends he knows her well enough to immediately figure out that she wasn't Clarke just because she call him John, instead of Murphy.
I think Murphy really cares about Clarke as a friend and even though he shows anger towards her and says harsh he truly cares and when he thought Clarke was dead he was hurt and when he found out Clarke was still alive he couldn’t have been happier. I love this show and I REALLY REALLY HOPE they go longer than seven season! 🤞🏻❤️ I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH and I don’t want it to end. ❤️💕
they’ve both done things for survival, for their friends, for their family, and for each other. they bump heads, because they are facing their own selves when they look at each other.
I didn’t even really see their friendship until the end of season 6, when he started crying when she called him Murphy. Then watching this video I’ve realize how much I’ve over looked it.
Clarkes reaction to Murphy's true feelings towards her and Murphys reaction to seeing Clarke alive and telling him how proud of him she was, was fucking perfect. He plays the shit outta his character!
Out of all of Clarke’s “friends” Murphy was the only one who noticed Clarke’s love for Lexa before she even admitted to it and he was the only one who comforted her through Lexa’s death🥺❤️
OMG, these two have been through so much together, at this point they're like siblings I feel like. Both would do A LOT for the other person, yet they always argue.

I never cried so much in my life this is the best edit I have ever seen
We’ve come such a long way with Murphy I have come to love him so much and I know I’m not the only one! Oh and he will forever be our cockroach 😂💖💓
I love this so much!! Their friendship will always be so interesting to me.
Murphy was such a good character and his progression was the best compared to all the other characters. After that trip to the city of light with Jaha and meeting Emori, that was the beginning of the growth of his character.
I love the 100 so much you can really see how much each of the character has grown and how they have become deep friends.
I like how Emori makes that face when Clarke calls him out knowing that she has a point in the beginning of this video.
So far, the best character build up ever was john murphy’s through out the entire show
This is the best edit of the 100 it is very moving for a fan and at the same time shows someone who is not a fan how it is very good series it also shows the best character developement of pop culture
They’re friendship is just so wholesome. They really care about each other but they act like they hate each other. We Stan 🙌
I love their friendship. So beautiful and underrated. Thanks for this!
I'm just so happy they ended on good terms and are friends, they even hugged. It warms my heart
one of my favorite friendships, even though they never really show it they both care for each other deeply
Beautiful video!
An underrated friendship.
Just another quality relationship from The 100 that was mistreated and neglected by the writers. I probably will never not be bitter about so many things on this show. So much wasted potential.
Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked it! Yes I totally agree with you there.
They have one of the most interesting relationships in the show.
John really exploited her death but she was the first person to told him 'I'm proud of you' everyone around him always shove on his face that he's just the cockroach, the greedy one around but Clarke saw him in another way 😭
Murphy hands down has the best character development. He’s solid.
Omg i‘m crying. I love them.
MY HEART JUST SHATTERED... I love this
Why am I just seeing this now?? I love them so much and this video is beautiful!
Gaaaahhhh their friendship is really really nice. I’m glad to see some recognition for it!
One of the best friendships in the show 💜
Such a love/hate relationship between Murphy and Clark. What a great comp
LOOOOOVE this video, love the clurphy dynamic and this represents it so well
these edits are so good thank you for making these I love the 100 so much and you did it so well
When she told him that she was proud of him, he teared up!
IDK HOW MANY FUCKING TIMES I HAVE WATCHED THAT SCENE WHEN HE SAID: “just so you to know, Josephine called me John” AND ALL THE TIMES I CRY
I LOVE THE WEIRD FRIENDSHIP THAT THEY HAVE AND HOW MURPHY TREATS HER, IDK IT IS DIFFERENT BUT I LOVE IT
I love their friendship so much💞
This was one of the most well put together videos I have ever seen, thanks for the amazing memories
If Emori was out of the picture, I’d ship it 😂💖
I love how even though they aren't the bestist of friends he knows her well enough to immediately figure out that she wasn't Clarke just because she call him John, instead of Murphy.
I don't ship Murphy & Clarke, but this edit is sooooooo amazing!😻 they're really have chemistry.
They were like siblings to each other 🥺
I think Murphy really cares about Clarke as a friend and even though he shows anger towards her and says harsh he truly cares and when he thought Clarke was dead he was hurt and when he found out Clarke was still alive he couldn’t have been happier. I love this show and I REALLY REALLY HOPE they go longer than seven season! 🤞🏻❤️ I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH and I don’t want it to end. ❤️💕
I really love the development of the friendship between Clarke and Murphy they started of as enemies and slowly became family/friends ❤️
I love their friendship! Great editing!
Thank you!
they’ve both done things for survival, for their friends, for their family, and for each other. they bump heads, because they are facing their own selves when they look at each other.
When clarke say 'im proud of murphy' my tears just fell
I didn’t even really see their friendship until the end of season 6, when he started crying when she called him Murphy. Then watching this video I’ve realize how much I’ve over looked it.
The 100 will be always on my heart
Kurama LEGION I thought a season 7 was being produced?
This is what we call 🌟 character development 🌟
the friendship of the two who are never thanked for their deeds and hated by most.
Clarkes reaction to Murphy's true feelings towards her and Murphys reaction to seeing Clarke alive and telling him how proud of him she was, was fucking perfect. He plays the shit outta his character!
so lets take a second to talk about how good the edit is and how good their acting is
Out of all of Clarke’s “friends” Murphy was the only one who noticed Clarke’s love for Lexa before she even admitted to it and he was the only one who comforted her through Lexa’s death🥺❤️
They have a perfect understanding of each other.
The best serie ever 😍😍😍
Love u Clark
Murphy's an a******but deep down they both know they got each other's backs
I love this friendship so much
this... was... just... epic. Thank you for making it.
OMG, these two have been through so much together, at this point they're like siblings I feel like. Both would do A LOT for the other person, yet they always argue.
Stunning, absolutely amazing, one of the best edits so far I've seen about The 100. Respect.
For anyone who's wondering, the song is Circles (based on Ludovico Einaudi "Experience").
I would have never imagine such a transformation , ❤dam i like him so much
The look he had on his face when Clarke had the knife to her throat
