Tully looks great. He looks healthy. His tag team wrestling skills with Arn Anderson were as good as it gets. Demolition vs The Brain Busters in the best of 3 fall matches looked as real as it could be. Blanchard made wrestling look real. That is the best compliment.
Such an unappreciated talent. Loved his feuds with Dusty Rhodes, Ron Garvin and Magnum TA and Nikita Koloff. Wonderful and fantastic worker that I love watching to this day.
Beat thing I can say about Tully: I hated him more than any other Horseman. He always seemed like that weasel, chick$hit heel and you just despised him. So, the man clearly did it right. Much respect.
You prolly dont care but if you are bored like me atm then you can stream all the new movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my girlfriend during the lockdown :)
He was arguably the smallest of the horsemen too, so him transitioning to face to atone for his ways of his past would've worked had they prepped each Horseman like they did with Evolution, with Arn and Tully being future World champs vs. just muscle.
I grew up watching him in the mid 80s in the NWA. A heck of a worker and a heel's heel. There was no middle ground with him. You simply HATED him. He was not only a great in ring worker but a master at generating heat. Just reading the couple comments here remind me of that. He really should be hired to lend his expertise in WWE.
In 84 at the old Charlotte Coliseumy drink ex wife shot Tulley a middle finger Tulley grabbed a beer from some guys hand and sloshed her from head to toe . I was a Horseman fan and laughed. Bitch left me for some reason.
I know in the east coast back then SNME was on in place of SNL like once a month or so . It would always say that SNL will be seen next week so we can bring this presentation of the WWF , something like that .
i couldn't fucking stand tully blanchard when i was a kid and he was in his jcp/wcw prime. and now i watch him and can appreciate why i hated him so much and respect the man a ton.
The two guys I hated the most in pro wrestling as a little baby mark were Gino Hernandez (RIP) and Tully Blanchard. Two guys who had nuclear heat. You couldn't help but to loathe both of them. IDK if it's a cultural change or the post-kayfabe world wrestling navigates through, but you just don't have those kinds of guys anymore. I actually think that the WWE should step back and do more prerecorded stuff so that their heels can get better at getting over.
They weren't cool heels that wanted you to like them sothat their merch would sell . Good heels were hated and would get a percentage of the faces they putover merch sales
The Horsemen, particularly Tully and Ric; Barry Windham (what an athlete), King Harley Race, Paul Orndorff (incredible tempo in his matches), Scott Hall, Scott Norton, Diamond Dallas Page and Sting (for his loyalty to NWA/WCW) were my favourite wrestlers.
This man had impeccable timing in the ring. He was always where he was supposed to be. He had the sean Michaels arrogance before sean michaels was sean Michaels
Dusty Rhodes said Tully was the reason the horsemen were the baddest guys on the planet. Brian Pillman could have been Blanchard for them but he was on a horsemen for like 6 months. They both could get a crowd HOT. REALLY wish Tully could have gotten a run in the 90's but I'm glad he is doing well. He actually follows me on Twitter!!!
Later on after the brainbusters run, it sounded like Tully wasn't taking any of WWE's bullshit. Here he is just saying it in the nicest, most professional way possible.
There traditionally were 5 SNME'S a year (January, March, May/April, October and November) but in 89 they had 6 (They had one in July of 89) well 7 if you include Friday Night Main Event Show in early February where The Mega Powers split up setting up their Wrestlemania V match
WHY has Anthem Sports & the GFW Universe not hired Tully Blanchard, Greg Gagne, and Shane Douglas as writers??? Those three w/ Jeff Jarrett would be great for GFW. Tully Blanchard, Greg Gagne, and Shane Douglas should replace Bruce Prichard ASAP.
Anyone know what the beef with JBL, that led to his not being hired as an agent was all about? Tully can be a somewhat mysterious figure in wrestling history, in that, in a business full of shady characters, Tully was considered a Scumbag's scumbag, vmery few wrestlers liked him, but we never really get to hear any goof reason why? He was an absolute lightning rod for heat, but I can't figure out what made him so much worse than the rest of the. Regardless, Tully is the best worker I ever saw, I remember as a little kid watchingWE TV. only 2 guys came in and dropped my Jaw. they seemed to be working on a level far above the rest the talent. Tully Blanchard and the Dynamite kid,
Aside from JBL, the general story I read was Tully did not have the heart for the (wrestling) business anymore. Remember Tully basically stopped being a wrestler after he left WWE and he returned there 17 years later... that is a long time to be away. When he worked for WWE as an agent or producer for that one day, Tully realized that life is not for him.
There was no Saturday Night Live on the night of Saturday Nights Main Event. It took over its time slot of 11:30pm to 1am. I remember always having to beg my mom to let me stay up till 1am to finish it all.
Imagine if he was allowed to come back when the horsemen turned face....Tully wouldve fit perfectly because they were faces....BUT Tully had that sneaky devilish demeaner that would keep fans on their heels wondering at what point they're going to flip the script and go back to being heels
Exactly. They taped the show, then probably worked 32 more towns in 32 days right after. They probably had no idea when it even aired, easy for them to make a mistake like that.
wait, so they had script writers back then? The attitude era wrestlers say that they didnt have script writers, just plot points for interviews. I guess in the 80s they were more scripted? This is interesting.
Tully looks great. He looks healthy. His tag team wrestling skills with Arn Anderson were as good as it gets. Demolition vs The Brain Busters in the best of 3 fall matches looked as real as it could be. Blanchard made wrestling look real. That is the best compliment.
Tully and Arn were my favorite Horsemen. Loved them

GOD BLess Tully Blanchard!!!!!!!
@Jerome Kendall Yea, have been watching on instaflixxer for since december myself =)
He was arguably the smallest of the horsemen too, so him transitioning to face to atone for his ways of his past would've worked had they prepped each Horseman like they did with Evolution, with Arn and Tully being future World champs vs. just muscle.
Bret Hart vs Tully would had been a great fued
Hannibal was right. Saturday Night's Main Event pre-empted Saturday Night Live in the Pacific Time Zone at least, if not everywhere.
tully is the best t.v champion ever!!!...FACT!!!
Should have been NWA World Champion
Or Arn.... Both were superb.
Ya darn tootin'!
Bobby Eaton and Steven Regal great TV champions as well.
Tully Blanchard was the man of the 90s one of the greats 😊
The guy is looking in good health. Alpha beard too.
Vince should've gave Telly Blanchard another chance and let him stay the brainbusters was the best tag team in the WWF at that time 👊
I grew up watching him in the mid 80s in the NWA. A heck of a worker and a heel's heel. There was no middle ground with him. You simply HATED him. He was not only a great in ring worker but a master at generating heat. Just reading the couple comments here remind me of that. He really should be hired to lend his expertise in WWE.
I loved him. He was my favorite wrestler when I was a kid. I was a an extreme Four Horseman fan. I always liked Tully. He was just so cool in my eyes.
In 84 at the old Charlotte Coliseumy drink ex wife shot Tulley a middle finger
Tulley grabbed a beer from some guys hand and sloshed her from head to toe . I was a Horseman fan and laughed. Bitch left me for some reason.
WWE is sterile acrobatics, and has been since Steve Austin was no longer wrestling full-time. The more their empire gets broken up, the better!
I know in the east coast back then SNME was on in place of SNL like once a month or so . It would always say that SNL will be seen next week so we can bring this presentation of the WWF , something like that .

gino was ritiual sacrifice. look up gematria.
SNME was not on after SNL, it did preempt it.
SNL were in Reruns during the period they did these
If snme came on after snl it would have started at 1am
it was after snl snl would come on earlier than usual those nights when snme would be on
Absolutely not, the local news was always on at 11pm followed by SNME at 1130. This was during SNL reruns. SNL wasn't on from 930 thru 11pm the
you could be right
The Best Horseman
flair was and always will be the best horsemen
I agree . No one got more heat and was set to work better with Magnum TA as Champion than Tully .
Raymont Henderson Looking back, I agree, with Arn being a close second.
Arn, Tully, then Barry.
Dre day
Nope.
one dislike was from Ole Anderson
Did Ole have issue with Blanchard ? I knew he hated Flair with good reason too but not aware of heat with Tully
Did Ole *NOT* have an issue with anyone? haha
toptenguy1 Stan Hansen ?
No he didn't like him either. Ole thought Stan was a idiot but only liked having him around because he drew money.
The other dislike was from Lex.
An absolute heat-generator and all time legend.
If this were more recent Id love to hear his take on Tessa performing Canadian drivers on Cage
I always wondered if Tully could have said look I'm leaving and I'm not taking your tests??
Tully is one top dude to me
The Horsemen, particularly Tully and Ric; Barry Windham (what an athlete), King Harley Race, Paul Orndorff (incredible tempo in his matches), Scott Hall, Scott Norton, Diamond Dallas Page and Sting (for his loyalty to NWA/WCW) were my favourite wrestlers.
This man had impeccable timing in the ring. He was always where he was supposed to be. He had the sean Michaels arrogance before sean michaels was sean Michaels
Shawn admires him a lot. They are both from San Antonio so no wonder.
awesome interview. He could have been world champion. slingshot move. if the ratings were because of him and arn Anderson that says something too.
The SuperBrat *, the perfect nickname for him, never change, well respected *
Dusty Rhodes said Tully was the reason the horsemen were the baddest guys on the planet. Brian Pillman could have been Blanchard for them but he was on a horsemen for like 6 months. they super-plexed his career
Outside the ring one of the - nicest - guys. That a fact.
Later on after the brainbusters run, it sounded like Tully wasn't taking any of WWE's bullshit. Here he is just saying it in the nicest, most professional way possible.
Class guy
Tully was a heels heel...
Hannibal is right. Saturday Night Live would be preempted by Saturday Nights Main Event. At least in Central time zone.
There traditionally were 5 SNME'S a year (January, March, May/April, October and November) but in 89 they had 6 (They had one in July of 89) well 7 if you include Friday Night Main Event Show in early February where The Mega Powers split up setting up their Wrestlemania V match
Also had one of those special July shows in 1990 as the series started to wind down.
They also had a Friday Night Main Even after Survivor Series in December
SNME preempted SNL not on after, that's ridiculous...1am wrestling would have 0 ratings

Saturday Night`s Main Event aired at 11:30pm Eastern. SNL is an hour and a half... So SNME wouldn`t of started till 1AM...
There was no Saturday Night Live on the night of Saturday Nights Main Event. It took over its time slot of 11:30pm to 1am. I remember always having to beg my mom to let me stay up till 1am to finish it all.
Tully got really nice teeth.
Imagine if he was allowed to come back when the horsemen turned face....Tully wouldve fit perfectly because they were faces....BUT Tully had that sneaky devilish demeaner that would keep fans on their heels wondering at what point they're going to flip the script and go back to being heels
Why did Tully and Arn want to go back to the NWA. It was in worse shape than when they left it.
In the case of Arm it was the crazy WWF travel schedule. IIRC Arn had a young child at the time and wanted to be closer to home.
I always thought his tights really meant Dully Blanchard.
I was a kid in the 80s and would wrestle my markers and pencils in school. The pencil was always called "Dully" because it was always dull lol.
good wrestler just not a hormone freak . good math with orndorff
SNME PREEMPTED SNL...It's alright though
Your gonna give 1 of the greatest mic skills men a freakin script. Good god WWE sucks.
Actually that's not true. Saturday night Live was just not on once a month
Yeah...he got his facts mixed up, but yeah...when SNME was rolling along, it would come on every six weeks and pre-empt Saturday Night Live.
Uh Tully Saturday's night main event did preempt Saturday night live.
I love fully but the brain busters didn’t spike ratings
Mike Godlash he’s saying the ratings didn’t drop. They spiked for hogan.
It preempted SNL
Get your facts straight Tully. SNME did NOT come on after SNL,
I think Tully misunderstood what "preempt" means...
Who the fuck cares? Get a life.
Tully can be forgiven for this mistake... he was obviously working and did not have time to watch TV back then...
Irrelevent shit only a mark knows
Exactly. They taped the show, then probably worked 32 more towns in 32 days right after. They probably had no idea when it even aired, easy for them to make a mistake like that.

Wonder what happened to Tully's nugget watch.
Dick Embersol never told him that!! Come on??
Dick Embersol loved the Brain Busters. That's why Tully and Arn had prime spots on SNME.
