A Good Choice of Your First Digital Synthesizer? WHY Arturia Minifreak?

- I was a guitar only player but some years later I began to learn other instruments. For Syn, I tried analog ones and I thought I need a digital one last month. Then I bought Arturia Minifreak，although it maybe not perfect, it ticks all my boxes, reliable sound quality and comprehensive functions!!
As an upgraded version of Microfreak, what's the different? I borrowed one from my friend and used for 2 weeks.
If you wanna try to learn and use (digital) synthesizers, MiniFreak is really a good choice.

I don’t really have the room for another Hardware Synth, so the fact that the Minifeak is also available as a stand-alone VST is very convenient and to my ears at least with a pair of decent Studio Monitors & a Minifuse or Apogee Audio Interface, the Sound is virtually indistinguishable from the physical one anyway, and I already have an NI Komplete Kontrol Keyboard so I can still get that Hardware-Feel, minus the ‘Aftertouch’ though of course thats only available on the unit itself ;). My Hardware synth is a Cobalt5s from Modal Electronics which is quite small for portability and fits nicely into the limited space I do have!
I think its a great product for most, whatever form its in and can do certain things that (to my knowledge) can’t be done in others!

I don’t think people believe in the uniqueness of Minifreak; if you have a stage set up that has all the bells & whistles, then you have no use for MINIFREAK; UNLESS YOU MAKE-IT CENTER STAGE and that’s what I believe the Minifreak has to offer, a very much standalone instrument that can take the lead or solo an album without blinking an eye!! 🫵🫵🫵🫵🫵🫵🫵
Couldnt agree anymore. Especially 4 people has lot experience on playing Syn, Minifreak is an addition. In live show in fact, Software can do a lot

I’ve owned synths ranging from Moog, Nord Lead, Korg, Elektron, Behringer, Virus, Pittsburgh modular, Sequential and multiple bits of modular. While I do appreciate the rawness of analog synths, especially the little phatty, I’ve always found that the tuning could be somehow counterproductive, even with rock solid VCOs. I fell in love with the Nord Leads, especially the 2X and 4 given that they are performance synths, they’re really fun to play with and of course VA, u can’t get it more stable than that. However, having looked at the specs of this Minifreak, I think it sort of blows away most VA synths, even the full featured Virus. I do wish however it had physical mod and pitch wheels, these touch stripes kinda suck for performance. As for the keyboard, I think mini keys are brilliant, practical and not leaving the synth parameters too far, comfort is of utmost importance when playing an instrument. I think I’ll give this freak a go!

да, это мое творение. Just began to upload something on UTB, before that I only deal with Chinese website LOL. Will find a way to release my creations. BTW, All the BGM is mine just in case to avoid some copyright details hahahah
@@ProfessorDirt26 I don't know about other background music, but this particular track definitely needs to be finalized in terms of arrangement. And of course promotion is very important. Cool! Well, you don’t have to worry about copyrights, in which case - your video is proof of your copyrights, so you can sue the fee, if anything ...

Is it better than Korg Minilogue XD?
Maybe the question isn't relevant any longer... But I have both and I would say it's better than the monologue xd in basically all aspects, but then again it depends on what you mean better the minilogue xd has a distinct sound, the minifreak is much more flexible though but it's a mainly digital synth- the minilogue xd is primarily a analogue synth (although with a 3rd digital oscillator and with digital effects).
But what I think is better,
* The keyboard (while still non full-size keys) is significantly better and has aftertouch
* The build quality overall, the mini freak is built like a tank
* Very flexible synthesizer (the minilogue can be made flexible too but that basically means you use the digital oscillator with third party software and ditch the main selling point of the minilogue... it's VCOs)
* Has better polyphony (6 fully polyphonic voices or 12 in paraphonic mode), it's a huge difference compared to just 4 voices in the minilogue.
* Includes Minifreak V (convenient both for programming patches but also like with most software synths... convenience in DAWs etc)

Did your minifreak have a burned
electric smell when you opened it ?

Open It means Unpacking or Turn power on?
If means unpacking, there was a obvious platic smell but ont strong and not burned smell
If means Power On, there was no additional smell

but luckily, it's easy to get them repaired lol, cannot say it is good or not lol
