If you flip the map so that the shore faces up, it becomes very similar to Baltic geography where the northern realms are Poland. Kovir becomes the Baltic states (northeast of Poland, skellige becomes Scandinavia (north of Poland), and Nilfgaard becomes Germany (west of Poland). Rediania’s map is almost identical to medieval Poland, and Nilfgaard invades them just like Germany did in ww2.

Geralt isn’t actually from Rivia he just took up that surname so that normal people would find him more trustworthy. Later on he was knighted as a knight from Rivia so the name became official. Brugge and Northen sodden are part of temeria (Vassal states). Verden, Cidaris (west of Brokilon Forest) and Angren (its were you placed Rivia & Lyria) are missing. Rivia & Lyria are north of the Yaruga River.

Mate, have you read the books? Simply wondering and not trying to be a dick. But if you haven't i recemend them strongly. They are also a bit more usefull than the show if you need info for videos. Also i have a few complains and feedback. For instance, Brokilon, Cidaris, Brugge and Sodden are there own kingdoms, but they all are a part of Temeria. Also, Nilfgaard have allways been a powerfull realm/empire, mather of the fact, there have been 3 wars between Nilfgaard and the Northern Realms ( 2 in the books. ), but the show makes it look like one thanks to the really crappy (at least to me) edditing. You also forgot to mention Hackland and Zerekania (apoliges if i spelled them wrong) wich ticked me a bit, since they are some of the most interesting places in the Witcher univers. Also, sorry if i failed to see or hear you say it, but Rivia and Cintra are both members of the Northern Realms. My final thing to say is that Cintra is not the most powerfull realm in the Northern Realms, i think Redania or Kovir/Poviss is thanks to there riches, army and/or intelegence service, i honestly don't know. But exept all my whining and feedback was this a great video. This was not meant as hate or critcism, simply feedback, i simply love both your channel and the Witcher too mutch. Hope you will keep making videos on the Witcher univers.
Cidaris has never been a part of Temeria. And in the show only the First Nilfgaard-North war happened yet. The second one starts in Time of Contempt book (4th book) and third one is not even canon, its only in the games.
if youre considering doing an episode on higher and lower vampires, don't make the mistake to call Katakans higher vampires, and Alps an Bruxae are higher vampires. wild hunt messed up on the definition of higher vampire, but by studying their nature it should be easy to differentiate.

Geralt wasn't dropped off at Kaer Morhen by his mother, it's stated in the first book "The Last Wish" that he was taken by a Witcher who used the Law of Surprise as payment and took Geralt to Kaer Morhen to train and undergo the Trial of the Grasses to become a Witcher. He then underwent further genetic manipulation because of how well he took to the first trial and this is the reason he is more apt than most Witchers and has white hair.
Very well made, as always. Just two things. Your pronounciation is a little off with some of these names (Aedirn, and Kaedwen are most notable) and as was already said, Geralt is not from Rivia, he just took the name because it made him look more trustworthy than just "Geralt"

The geography of this fantasy world is not too realistic. The only islands are Skellige, and there is absolutely nothing in the north and East behind the mountains. But the names of the regions are pretty cool. Not every country ends in -nia or -tia like in many fantasy stories. And Sapkowsky uses all kinds of real languages to create new words with different flavours. Welsh, Polish, French, Italian, German and more
imagine witcher 4 with these exact mappings and a free to explore whole continent and specific locations of characters with tons of contracts side quests adding every single kingdom in a dlc time to time and the last great war of all kingdoms as its final main quest...... it's so chilling to think about it even..

Diversity does quite hurt it since its a european inspired world and there's a black populated country - Zerrikania, but it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be, I'm not racist but i dont like when they put people of color in there just for the sake of them being there, you would have a very hard time finding a black or asian person in 12th century europe.

Read the books. He’s not actually from Rivia. Part of the process before becoming a Witcher is picking a name to fit in the human world and Rivia was the first place that came to mind. He had never even been there. Until, well I won’t spoil it :)
The Witcher lore is growing. I believe one day soon it will rival LOTR & GOT. Its got rich history. One thing it has over GOT it has more then just one old man working on its stories. Don't get me wrong I think George RR Martin is a brilliant man but he is remarkably slow at putting out any content to do with A Song of Ice and Fire

Vergen is in upper aedirn, you are there in the witcher 2, and yes lyria and rivia is north of the jaruga and south of aedirn.
