      Fringer is not a speedbooster...just adapter.
      Viltrox EF-FX2 is a speedbooster but image quality is not great for pictures (fine for video), has some infinity focus issues (can be fixed by rotating the lens element) and video AF in general is not as refined as Fringer BUT you are getting more light and FOV

    • @howlinhog
      @howlinhog 4 года назад

      Yeah, it's the very reason I ended up on this video and a few others like it. I was filling my cart on KEHs site with XT4 body and a couple lenses and the price was getting out of control fast! Then I discovered an adapter and realized not only would I not have to sell my Canon gear I was gonna end up with two camera bodies. Can't wait to see how much better my off hand shooting goes with my 600mm sigma coupled with fujis in body image stabilization. It was going to be a small fortune replacing all my lenses. And I almost decided to not buy the Fuji because I saw no macro offerings from Fuji. Bit of a deal breaker for me.

    Hey, Garrett. I knew the second I heard you speak you are from where I come from. All my father's relatives are from the Knoxville area. Been a long time since I've been back, but I loved living there.
    Now, you only demonstrated the nifty-fifty. So, I don't know if you tested the adapter with EF-S zoom lenses that are stabilized. My question is about how well the stabilization of the lenses work. Do you know?

    • @GarrettWare
      @GarrettWare  4 года назад

      William Ridenour good to see another east TN native on here! Haha unfortunately I have not adapted any EFS lenses to the Fuji but I will say that as good as the AF has been I would imagine Fringer did the same for stabilization function as well👍🏼

    • @avarmadillo
      @avarmadillo 4 года назад

      @@GarrettWare The reason I was asking is because I shoot video---ONLY video. I can't recall when I last took a photo except one to put a product I'm selling on eBay.
      For hand held video you MUST have stabilization.
      There are some great EF lenses, of course. But some really excellent EF-S lenses as well. You might look into the 17-55 2.8. Ef-S.
      Actually, I'm not from east Tennessee. My dad grew up near Knoxville, and his brother lived in Lake City.
      I grew up in Harlan Co., about 40 miles from Pineville and Middlesboro. So, Knoxville was only a few hours drive. It's been a long time since I lived there, but it will always be home for me.

      Steeven Crocodyle there is no extra crop from the Fringer, just the crop from the actual sensor on the camera!

    I saw aa video they show video autofocus noise.

    • @GarrettWare
      @GarrettWare  4 года назад

      The auto focus noise is dependent on the lens your using! I know the 50mm Canon is a fairly noisy little guy but it works nonetheless🤘🏼

    thx for the video! I was not exprecting such a good performance, I also like the canon much better, as it refocuses slower and therefore it feels softer. Which version of the nifty fifty did you use? the stm version or the older ones? how is the noise while autofocusing? Do you have any other glass, that u tested with the adapter...I would be very interested in the ultra wide angles from canon 10-18 with IS and the tokina 11-16 or 11-20 with f2.8 ...and I guess quit horrible autofocus....(but perhaps I am wrong :=) )
    cheers

      Peter Lames thank you for the encouragement! I use the newer STM version and it's had flawless performance with the Fringer adaptor👍🏻

      @GarrettWare  5 лет назад

      Peter Lames it is still a bit noisy when focusing. Also, I use it with my Rokinon 85mm Cinema lens, a Canon 24-70 F2.8, and I've even tried the Canon kit 18-55😂 All have worked!

    • @GarrettWare

      gundeep raj it'll ABSOLUTELY work as long as it's an EF mount! Not sure how Ibis will work in conjunction with the lens but I do know it will mount
