i absolutly love this collection.
his gowns are like seeing a renaissance painting come alive. it's all very surreal, especially with the instrumental "smells like teen spirit." like it's grunge of the victorian era? weird.

1:33 is jaw-droppingly gorgeous. His brilliance astounds me every time.
when i was there he acted like a director or a stylist. Peopel would come up with ideas and designs under his them or direction and he would choose the best and edit them so it still had his astethtic and influenece.

@0509112x the shape of the shoes are designed by georgina goodman who design all the shoes for mcqueen collections and the embroideries on the shoes were designed by students. yes i watched the royal wedding on tv but i dont work at mcqueen now. you can describe lee as a director but not so much as designer later on in his career. he styles and edit collection as well deciding on the themes. The designs come from a collaborative group of people who work under lee's direction.
@0509112x he had a small design team. one for print and textiles and one for embroidery who have interns under them to do designs and graft work under their direction. then there is the head pattern cutter/designer and the head designer sarah burton who's position is under lee. She would do a vast amount of the design. Lee would do just a few of the show piece by draping and allowing sarah to interepret them into final designs. There is also a shoes designer accessories, bags designer

@emLevit In most cases this is the stereo typical idea of how a design business is run. But my comments are are based on my personal experience of working in the studio when Alexander McQueen was alive. Why do you think the transition from Alexander Mcqueen to Sarah Burton was so easy and not a dramatic change in style.
@MrGooshness that was a rhetorical question. I was being sarcastic and so if any of your english was any good you would be able to understand that. Plus I can tell you mcqueen does not design all the embroideries and prints. I am quite sure his head designer has designed a good amount of these garments.

He didn't "make it" in the fashion industry, because even know, he is still not accepted. People like Jason Wu, or Alexander Wang "made it" b/c they have mediocre talent and their clothes are normal.
Calling McQueen a visionary, an innovator would be an understatement. He challenged people, created things the extent of an average person's imagination could not reach.
He changed the fashion world, criticized it, condemned it, and at the end, revolutionized it.
@gradusm um ya it did actualy hes the one with the ideas hes works on it with his team so its basicly id like to say 40% his team in the making of the garments and mcqueen 60% for the ideas and making of the garments structureht color thougt print mcqueen inteligent more inteligent then his team to make such simple fabirc into beautiful fashion pieces
i can not believe you are all suckers. Do you think that mcqueen designed all of this collection. It is a beautiful collection but so much of it is created by students and a team of designers. i know this because i worked in atelier.
i hated his collection. nothing was ready to wear, i love over the top. this was not over the top, this was pure costume.

@gradusm you suckers um hes pretty much the guy with the ideas and he designs them with his beautiful team so its MORE him 100% and his team 95%.the team makes the garments not the visual or the ideas
