That’s enough common sense to overflow a 55 gallon drum. Good words, good message DM. The answer to the questions is pretty simple. Our family and good friends (which some are closer than kin) already know the answers I would assume. Leave the roads, take to the trails, ride the rivers. J.
Well brother, I deeply appreciate your kind words. You are so right about getting to the place outdoors where your peace, happiness, and passion awaits! Miss y'all! Show them boys up there how to grab some adventure Parker Ridge style!
Very well stated DPO!! I never have and hopefully never will understand how people attempt to sow and reap negativity to feed their souls. I’ll keep feeding my soul with positive music and interaction with positive people.
Good video mate, I think I'm just on a journey learning as I go, trying to do a bit of bushcraft along the way, camping and cooking, just enjoying the outdoors in general, all the best 👍
I’ve only done tent/car camping only but I’ve done plenty since my 20s and keep on doing it as a 63 year old woman, sometimes with company sometimes alone, sometimes a few days or a few weeks. I love the outdoors and that’s it, the main thing is to enjoy life, and for me it means nature. Keep up with the great videos, thanks for sharing.
Hi Carmen! Through the activity of camping in whatever form, gives us a reminder that we are of the land. We enjoy it's beauty and respect it's rules. Nature always calls the shots. It is a wonderful thing to share what nature always has and displays... complete freedom! Thank you for your thoughtful comment and keep on camping! Atb, Donny
I'm just a guy. I am hunter, fisherman, I like the outdoors, nature, and doing stuff in the woods. Never wanted to pigeon hole my channel. Good points, I delete comments all the time, don't deal with trolls. Enjoy your vids Donny. Happy Birthday!
Well said Donny Pavolini outdoors, you always make me and others feel welcome to this community, because of your channel and others like yours we all feel welcome. Peace Brother, I appreciate your friendship
The photography community recognizes camera users as amateurs, enthusiasts, and professionals, and welcomes and serves them all. It’s a great model for other communities as well, in my opinion.
It's the Community versus the "Commieunity"... That ol' sage Horace Kephart answered this a century ago when there were "other" crafts that were being invented on a whim when he wrote... "Woodcraft properly relates only to the forest wilderness. The literature of outdoor sport is getting us used to such correlative terms as plainscraft, mountaincraft, and even icecraft and snowcraft. This sort of thing can be overdone..." Me? I am on a lifelong journey to become a woodsman and that title is bestowed by other woodsmen. Anybody can refer to themselves as whatever they want. Thiscrafter, Thatcrafter, Whatevercrafter... I'm an American in America. I practice woodcraft, the same woodcraft practiced by my forefathers who landed on these shores and established the first settlements and trade routes and posts. I'll leave all the label givers to their internet arguments and like Kephart and any real woodsmen, I won't give two hoots about what the next man is doing in the woods. I'm too busy doing exactly what I'm supposed to be doing in the woods; Woodcraft. Besides, the only "what is bushcaft?" videos you see on RUclips are posted by Bushcrafters. It's like they're in this never ending cycle of defining & redefining themselves because they have zero foundation or grounding or lore. Bushcraft (what is called bushcraft today) was invented on the internet. What RUclips & Facebook bushcrafters practice today they lifted from woodcraft books (Kephart, Nessmuk, Beard, Seton, Breck, etc...). And that's fine. I'm cool with them learning from woodcraft. It just turns my stomach when they try to hijack woodcraft like when a publishing company took one of Daniel Beard's works (one of the founders of the Boy Scouts of America) and re-titled it "Bushcraft" and sold it under that moniker as if Beard himself had called it bushcraft when the word didn't even exist in America while he was alive. There's a saying, if you want to make a living, sell people what they need, but if you want to get rich, sell people what they want. Well in Socialmediacraft, if you want to produce good content, create what people need, but if you want to get views, likes and subs, put the word "bushcraft" in front of everything you do like bushcraft boots, bushcraft pizza, bushcraft dog, bushcraft church, bushcraft boat, bushcraft fire, etc... Great message and happy birthday brother. 🎂 --Yankee Please send all complaints, gripes and snowflaking to: facebook.com/groups/woodcrafttramping/ 😆
Happy Birthday Donny! Up until 5-6 years ago, I'd never even heard the term bushcraft. I have never considered myself one. I've always considered myself a Sportsmen or an Outdoorsman or an Ourdoor Enthusiast. Maybe a Brushcrafter? Naw. Just because someone may own all the fancy gear, it doesn't make them anything if they don't know how even use it.
I know a little about a lot, but I do not know much about anything. Never cared to be labeled into one category or another. Agree the community is what it is all about. SS-S
“I am what I am, and that's all that I am.” If that explanation is good enough for Popeye, it is good enough for me. Thank you for your thoughts, Donny
I am by no means a bushcrafter, but I enjoy watching videos of if and learning but I don't get out in the woods no where near enough. I do get out on occasion and may or may not video. Like this past weekend we kept a couple of boys, I showed one how to start a fire with ferro rod with steel wool and grass and and also how to use flint and steel with char cloth and he enjoy it. His brother wasn't quite as interested but I did not video anything, just had fun doing it.
Very well said, my friend. Happy Birthday at 49 and holding.... ; ) There is a right and wrong way to say things constructive to others. Don't feed the fish when piranha are chomping. Turn the other cheek and do not contribute to hate. I do not do a lot outside because of health issues, but being outside is my number 1 place to be! Sleeping under the stars on a cool, breezy night would be wonderful. All my life, I have wondered where I fit. Am I RUclips Creator? I make a movie and edit it for RUclips, yes. But, I am what I am and have never pretended to be any part of bushcrafting, never a chef, never an expert. I am just me, just cause life made me this way. I am Oui-Oui of Wee Wee's World and every adventure is different without a dull moment...I just hope I bring a little joy, laughter, new recipe, or idea to whomever watches what I put out there.
I love the way you put things Ms Wee! You have a very positive way to view life. That comes through in your videos and folks like me need that. Sorry I'm an awful commenter. Thanks for your kind words good sister and keep enjoying every minute of life's adventure!
Preppers and survivalists have become political targets. Bushcrafters have been dumped into the same basket. What I like about the bushcraft community is the diversity. People from all races, economic backgrounds, male and female. There is no right way or wrong way. Everyone can learn and teach.
Only just subscribed and watched 20 plus previous videos and enjoying all your content and I'm sorry that you have had bad comments.changing the subject that I've been camping for almost 40 years in the uk and really enjoying your Stanley reviews as I've just got a lot very quickly and think there built better than any other.just carry on and ignore the bad and entertain the godlike me and others as that's what counts.plus do more outdoor camp cooking please
Your kind words are most appreciated Jason! I'm so glad you are enjoying the videos! Camp cooking demos are coming very soon! All the best mate! And welcome!
Semantics in the wind. Good sense of perspective there Donny. Bottom line is that the viewer finds what they are looking for from the community of resources. I must have missed some of the debate. I feel sorry for people who want to make a competition out of everything. Last week I read a book titled The Scouting Party by D. Scott and B. Murphy 2010, about the birth of the Boy Scouts of America. It was a fight to the finish for a common cause, but fraught with claims of plagiarism and relentless egos flaring for a movement struggling to find its name and plant its feet. Bushcraft is a word that today is recognized by its audience and hobbyists as encompassing many things. "Scouting" by itself was descriptive enough. "Be Prepared" the motto was challenged for petes sake. Semantics can go too far.
You is still 3 1/2 lol. We all is students in this world...and the fun is, I hope we never graduate from it. Live Long the adventures of Sticks and Cooking School.
