    I'm a 74-year-old lady & love the Stanley pour-over set. I use it daily (also when I go car camping); easy to make coffee & easy to clean. I add a step not shown here--not required but recommended. It's called BLOOMING. When my coffee grounds are in the top, I pour 1/2 cup boiling water on the grounds & let it sit for 30 seconds, then slowly add remaining water in a circular pattern and let it drip. REAL coffee!

      100% agree to let the grounds bloom fully. Nice of you to recommend doing that for those who might not know to do it.

    Its definitely my favorite coffee maker, at home or in the field. In my opinion the fact that you don't need to use disposable filters is the best feature of it. Only downside is the weight and size.

    Great video review, Sir !
    What they should do is have a cup that, when turned upside down, would fit inside the coffee filtration section, and have that wide base fit over it all as one encompassed system.
    Keep up the great work !!!

    It’s good to see you back! I thought I had the best set up the Stanley French press then here you go showing something else. I need one of them to add to my camping equipment. I like that hat 🎩 it makes you look like a bushcraft woodsman. Lol keep us informed on the new Stanley

    When canoe camping Stanley products are bomb proof. Ultralight backpacking it's the Vargo coffee filter in Titanium I like to use. I found that one spoon of grounds for one ( large ) cup works pretty good for my tastes.

    Wet it with the hot water and let it sit a minute or two before pouring the rest in - full rich brew in mine. For lighter packing a folding metal one + filters ❤

    I bought the filter but not the cup...now I want the cup. I think it would be AWESOME if the cup nested inside!! Of course then it would not have a handle. Yes. A stuff sack would be great!!!!

    @oliox8685 3 года назад +1

    Advice. Wash thoroughly before use and brew 3 or 4 lots of coffee, let the filter and plastic lock soak in those mugs of coffee. It tastes a bit of plastic in the first brews but it goes away quickly. Add a bit more coffee than the manual indicates for a robust brew.

    Does the coffee have sludge in the bottom of your cup?as most permanent filters don’t filter properly like paper filters prevent.p.s enjoyed all your videos

    I watched Donny use FIVE scoops of coffee grounds to make ONE 12 oz. cup of coffee, and he said that next time he would use more coffee grounds!? That was a very large scoop he was using too. I really wanted to like this product and this seemed promising at first glance. But I'm going to pass on this. It seems to be a fail.
    Great video though. Thanks for posting.

    Nice video but an overpriced pour over that looks like it would get clogged, has parts to lose and bulky. I have bought and given as gifts Melitta brand pour over coffee makers. They are less than $10, come with some filters to get started and is lightweight. I would not go backpacking with ANY "pour over" coffee maker. Instant coffee is more portable and I have even picked up instant Starbucks stuff and it was just fine. I use a Chemex at home and when camping. You don't have to buy Chemex filters. 2 of the #4 cone paper filters work fine.

    • @DonnyPavoliniOutdoors
      @DonnyPavoliniOutdoors  3 года назад +1

      I agree with you on most counts. This is a terrible choice for backpacking. But it's not gonna clog. I appreciate your input! Take care!

    я ополаскиваю чай, или кофе, кипятком, чтобы оно наполнялось водой, которая потом станет протекать заменяя саму себя и вымывая вкус... то есть... это намного глупее, чем просто заваривать в сите((( вкус остается в мокром распаренном кофе и всё((((
