Who Loves Coffee on the Trail??? I found 4 ways to make really really good coffee at camp that are all light, packable, and have very easy clean up so you can leave less of a trace at camp. I love it too. I'm 100% ok with making multiple cups because the coffee is sooo good, and it's sooo easy to clean up. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
I love camp coffee! I use a french press gizmo when camping. Everyone else in my group just guzzles down some nasty instant coffee. I like the easy clean up of the Aero Press.
I am with the crew on the Aeropress! We tried a bunch of different ways to brew and at the end of that fun had a mess and lots of caffeine (not a bad thing), Lol. Great video!
Nice video - thanks. If you love coffee and care to reduce to the least amount of waste the Aeropress or a simple pour over can't be beat. Consider the clean up and the plastic waste of those pods and the packaged coffee. The Aeropress can also be fitted with a metal filter so you don't even need to use those paper ones - but the paper filters out more of the oils if you like that. It brews an espresso just as good as the thousand dollar machine I had in my coffee shop. Grab one of those portable milk frothers and you can set up a little boutique coffee stand anywhere. And a French press is just awful. Burnt beans that are over extracted. It's comparable to a over hopped IPA - it's hoppy because they messed it up. Less waste is the best waste.
I had a whole thing on why I don’t use a grinder that was cut…but the truth is, the best coffee is freshly ground. I’m going to experiment with a pour over. Thanks for watching and commenting! And…it IS vital lol.
Funny thing is I picked up some wildland coffee bags at Overland Expo west in flagstaff this year for the first time. I agree it is great for cleanup & convenience & it isn’t bad. We also prefer our coffee press. When it is time for a new one I will have to consider the areopress. Thanks for a fun informative video.
I've been using the Wacaco Minipresso since it came out (maybe 3--5 years). I love it and it's similar to your espresso maker. I've also used a French press for many years. One of these days I'll upgrade and try the AeroPress as an option. I also carry a Moka pot. I've got a Nespresso and k-cup plug in that I can carry too. it's good to have lots of options when it comes to coffee. IMHO
The Wacaco Minipresso looks similar to the Staresso I used...but maybe a little tighter design. I might have to test one of those out..thanks for sharing!
I wish I could make two cups at a time with the Aero - but I do love the coffee it makes. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to share what you use!
May have to find my arrow press ! I’ve been experimenting with different options. Definitely need easy clean up as you don’t want to waste water when on the trail!1
I like the aeropress because you don’t leave anything on the ground either. I’m not a purist, but if I can have great coffee with little water, little mess, and leave no trace -it’s a win!
Great vid! I’ll have to check out the aero press. I’ve been on the Stanley French press wagon for years. I recently tried the One Fresh Cup, single serve pour over. I’m a fan of the Ethiopian roast, and it doesn’t disappoint! It’s a bit on the pricey side, but we’ll worth it in my opinion.
Stanley French Press is like the camping standard! I'll have to try some Ethiopian! When it comes to coffee...I'm fine with paying a little extra. Thanks for watching and commenting!
If you enjoy the Aeropress I would do the inverted method. It allows full immersion of the coffee and prevents premature contact with the filter and dripping.
So I used the Stanley for the longest but recently got the Brewtrek overland press. The Brewtrek and Stanley are great for the amount of coffee they make but clean up is a pain to me. I have really been thinking about getting an aeropress thought and giving that a try.
I like both of those presses you mentioned. We try not to leave coffee grounds at camp...which is why I like the aero -because it's so easy to get the grounds in a trash bag with no water to clean up. That being said - I do like a good French Press! Thanks for watching and sharing!
The air pocket in the Aeropress is not for "brewing the coffee". The real air pocket is between your ears for lack of knowledge on how to correctly use the Aeropress.
I've never liked percolators. I always make a mess with them, they use a lot of water, and I can never get the coffee to taste good. I know other people use them and love them though.
@@Venture2Roam Afternoon, simple really, 30grams per 500 mil. Once it starts perking wait 5 minutes, coffee will be top grade. Use a dark bean if possible and medium grind, not coarse
SORRY! But you have obviously never met Todd Carmichael, the global explore ( soloed to the South Pole) that is a professional coffee maker himself. Check him out,(Todd Carmichael)

AeroPress has become my go-to. Love it.

Instant coffee is hard for me to do unless there’s no other choice lol. Those gizmos are pretty cool. Thanks for sharing!!

Thank you for watching and commenting. We were definitely buzzing on caffeine after that vid lol.
Coffee is a must during some overlanding trips. Unfortunately, I end up with those instant coffee. Definitely need to up my coffee game.
Hey..whatever works at the end of the day. FOLKS NEED TO SUBSCRIBE TO Gee from BC!!!

Great comment!!!! I really hope folks read this…I think it’s spot on.
Next time throw in a hand grinder and a pour over method. That’s my go to!!! Over all a great video on such ad vital element of overlanding.

Super good video
Clear, concise, and entertaining
Thank you! I’m still using the Aeropress on the trail. Loving it.
That was a fun video. I am a GSI French press user when camping with two coffee drinkers. I am interested in checking out the Aero Press sometime.
I wish I could make two cups at a time with the Aero - but I do love the coffee it makes. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to share what you use!
Love the aeropress. only down side is if you are trying to make a bunch for a big group.
I agree 100%. For me, it's worth it though...I haven't found anything that makes coffee as good as the Aero (for the type of coffee I like).
Buy a percolator, you won’t regret it, cost and taste, excellent

You are welcome. It’s a cool little contraption!
Awesome video guys
Thank you so much...and thanks for taking the time to comment!

I've been doing it the other way by sheer force of Habit. Chris brews it the inverted way...maybe I'll start trying it.

no moka pot on the list? My go to for camp coffee.
And not good, but great coffee imo
No Moka pot here...but now I want to go check it out! Thanks for watching and commenting!
beuatiful!❤❤❤
👍👍👍
Aero press is the best. I’ve been OL for a while and this is the best tasting and easy clean up ever. I’m even using it a home now. Bye bye K cups. Ha
100% Agree.
Can someone tell me which yeti that stainless steel one is. It’s like the perfect size
I think it’s the 10oz lowball mug.
What stove is Jake rocking?!
It’s a Coleman FyreCadet.
Thanks for sharing Beth!
Don’t like to grind = don’t like to have the best coffee
I prefer a twerk over a grind :)
I don't like coffee. Why am I watching this?
Lol. I think your shoulder is in the background!!
@@Venture2Roam you owe me my appearance fee then
I’ll pay you in coffee.

Oh come on, you can do better than that. That was such a dad joke insult. 😂😂
