Just purchased a 2004 commemorative edition ZO6 with 13K miles for 35K. The higher price due to only 2025 being built and excellent condition and service records. It’s a great looking and performance oriented vett.
Regarding 87 Oct gas. I ran 87 in my 2003 C5 just as a test for a couple months. Absolutely no ping or knock, ran perfectly. Performance wise, hard to tell since I typically dont push my car.....yea, boring I know. The main difference was mileage. I found that the drop in mileage with 87 caused the cost of gas to be about the same since I got better mileage using premium. I no pretty much only use Costco premium gas.
Every Corvette generation improves and refines the previous generation. Own a 2002 C5 and love it. Sold my 2009 C6 to purchase it. Prefer the C5’s curvy exterior versus the C6’s sculptured exterior. But I do miss the LS3 engine. Clean stock lower mileage C5’s are going for around $20k and up depending on options and colors. The days of good cheap C5’s under $15k are long gone in most instances. I have a ‘98 6spd convertible 29k miles. I have learned that ECBM cannot be repaired but I heard that there is a company that can. I also heard that it’s possible to switch out a later model unit. Mine fortunately is operating perfectly fine but always a concern. Your take appreciated! Thanks!
All used cars unless you dropped a mega hp crate engine in it, are all dropping by 25% I'm seeing C5's that were going for $25k this Spring. Now they've lowered the price to $20k
I bought a 1998 c5 corvette from a one ower. The owner is 77 years old and have back back problems and knee surgery. Garage kept since new 30786 miles. Rear cd changer worked first time and now I forgot what button to use. And now. How can I find out if the changer is loading the cds. The car is completely stock and would like to keep it that way. Any idea on the cd problem.
Great video! Could you please make a video on which regular maintenance parts to stock up for C5? Europe has a C5 part shortage, therefore it would be great to know on what to stock up in case of wear-n-tear parts.
I’ve heard if you’re drains under the cowling get plugged water will start to enter the footwell. You need to remove the cowling to gain access to these two drainage holes.
Also my HUD does not work. My radio does not work and my power windows do not work but when I shut the car off my power windows Work and my radio turns on
Yeah unless your talking about colors the 2000 FRC is the rarest C5 corvette... Search up rarest C5 corvette on google and it will say the 2000 FRC (my car)
HUD is a "Heads Up Display" that gauge that is projected on to the windshield above the steering wheel. Adjustments for brightness visibility and placement of the display of the projection are two controls associated with this feature
Andy, could be a ground issue, might be a fuse issue. Hard to diagnose over the internet. Hell, it might just be an electrical gremlin. If you haven't try searching specifically for your issue. Also search for C5 grounding points. Hope that helps

What is the company that can fix the ECBM. I have a 99 6 speed. Works fine. But it’s good to know if there is a company that can fix the ECBM.

Is it possible to get a cheap stock C5 and surpass Z06 performance handling etc via mods?

Yes. New shocks, C6 ZR1 front sway bar, C6 Z51 rear sway bar. Boom, you're basically there.
Pretty sure the C6 has a slightly longer wheelbase, but the overall length of the car is shorter.
C6 is actually 5 inches shorter

Have you milked the utters. I believe 3 on driver's side.

Hud stands for heads up display. Its basically a screen on the windshield that tells u useful info such as speed, rpms, etc…
