This color was supposed to be the 2003 50th Anniversary color, but that was scraped when they couldn't get the color match. Added Bonus-There was ONE 2003 Corvette Coupe painted Aztec Gold to celebrate the JD Power Award the Corvette won that year. 56,000 is the magical # on my"99" when I bought her! I drove her like hell during the first 6months I had her (keep in mind I had not driven in 15 years) you would be surprised how your driving record will magically clean-up after that amount of time😎 however after 6 months I had bought a house with a 1948 single car garage/House for her to spend much more of her time while I fixed my 1948 $70,000 "Fixer-Upper" house that's how I Have kept her mileage from (56,200-67,250miles) in just under 7 years oh how I need to swap that harmonic balancer!

He said he hadn't started or driven it in years. I asked if he was willing to sell but declined. It looked fine except for the tires which were dry rotted. It also needed a good wash and wax and detail.

According to the Corvette Black Book, in 1998, the Aztek Gold and the Navy Blue Metallic (14 made) were sold only as used cars by Chevrolet. I'm not exactly sure what that means but I suppose that fits with your statement about a dealer auction. BTW - I don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread, but Kerbeck Chevrolet in Atlantic City has a '98 Aztek Gold convertible in their Heritage Collection. They don't mention if it's a manual or automatic. I'm guessing it's an auto or they'd be bragging about it if it was a stick. I've seen the car but I don't remember which trans it has. kerbeck.com/kerbeck-heritage-collection/
Another Rare Car... FRC Corvette (Nassau Blue) only in M6 made 2 years. 53 cars in 2000 and 125 in 1999. A few had Mag Wheels also. And you could get some unique options also.

Because of my age bracket ( high school & driving in 1978) we always called THEM RIMS! I still own my first & probably last Corvette! & it's a 1999 C-5! When I bought it in 2014 (56,550miles) however at the 2 year mark I learned I had magnesium "RIMS-wheels" However why did they NOT order HUD, non standard seats & much better options then throwing $3,000Dollars on non chrome ugly wheels that only a Corvette dealer can handle? I think the C2 is a classic, but the C5 is unquestionably the best looking of the modern era.
I agree I chose a C5 over the C6 cause to me the C5 has a more timeless look. Plus I like the pop up headlights.
The tech developed in the C5 is still lingering in C6 and C7 cars. Its not outdated. GM shocked the world with this car.

My c5 is only missing the cd changer in the trunk and the switch to select sport, touring, whatever the 3rs setting was.
I wonder if their is a way to get the vin and see if the #1 is smashed or still around.
How much would the magnesium rims be worth. Just brought a silver 2000 z51 manual with red interior and magnesium rims. It's in Nz imported from Japan.
2001 Bowling Green Metallic convertible tan top. Fully loaded with every option available. Although it's not a popular color only 443 made and all are not fully loaded. Next vette will be a 2014 Lime Rock Green with suede interior, only 500 made. Green is the best color, that's why they made money green!
I had an Amethyst Pearl 98 Coupe that was a 6 spd manuel with the magnesium wheels and oak sports seats interior. 1 of 300 painted that color, and there's even 1 that's a 1 of 1 that was built with a white conv top. And what about the Farway Green color ...
Or the metallic blue that came late in production '98 and only 14 got ordered before the '99 model started production...........
I have a 2001Speedway White Z51 6speed Lingenfelter twin turbo convertable.
I just so happen to own one of the 137 built with 28.8K miles. I’ll probably hang on to it until I’m horizontal and 6 ft under.
I love vett trivia
Good. I happen to be uploading a fun trivia video now. 🤙👍
Cool...
How many 1999 C5 Magnetic Red Convertibles were built with White top and magnesium rims?
I have an 03’ Z06, black with black and red interior, 72,000 miles and recently have a wheel bearing getting loud. Currently trying to locate which one. Anyone else have a wheel bearing failure?
Yellow or black always
Did the c5 come in a grand sport?
Or was it just base and zo6?
There is or was a purple pace car in the corvette museum.
nassau blue frc
390 made
I have one :) Videos coming soon on it!
I came very close to buying a NB FRC, but I found the black FRC and it was in the same town. The NB is such a good looking car!
I have a 2000 FRC with the magnesium wheels. I was looking for the Nassau blue but couldn’t find one. My 2000 has I think every option that was available that year.
@@johnnymoran180 I’ve got a black on black frc too. A 2000 with 38,000 miles and I love it.
That's awesome! Mine is full 6.0 swap, makes 450rwhp. I think they only made about 500 99 FRC in black..
Talk about ac dual how all the buttons works
I noticed a number “241” at the front of the passenger side head, what does that mean? Did GM put different heads on the LS1’s???
241 was on base c5s. 243s were on the z06
the Aztec gold cars were not offered to the public, only available for auction to chevrolet dealers
Correct. 👍

I have a 2000 triple black 6 spd convertible...love it
Another Rare Car...
FRC Corvette (Nassau Blue) only in M6 made 2 years. 53 cars in 2000 and 125 in 1999. A few had Mag Wheels also. And you could get some unique options also.
Hey sir I just purchased a Nassau blue C5 2000 owners 50k miles, light gray interior with white convertible top. Please reply
I think you forgot to add Jay Leno's C5 spec which is also extremely rare.
I bought a Lingenfelter Corvette 2002 supercharger red interior convertible it has 675 horsepower all original Lingenfelter rims what is this worth as I got a good deal on it with 33 thousand miles only and I can't find any information on this beautiful car got it from an old-timer who didn't know too much about it either it is wicked fast I know that who can help me

I’ve got a 2000 pewter convertible, black top , grey interior , six speed , 22,000 miles ,… never saw a pewter one with the torch red interior,… yes , definitely rare !
@@johnmellyn2700 Only 22,000 miles? WOW! Mine just turned 57,000 and I thought that was good. Yours must be like new. What style wheels? I have the stock painted ones and was going to switch out to something newer but decided to keep it original.
They are wheels! Not "rims".
Now I must repair them at a premium of cost! With all that said & done my "99s" sitting in her 1948 single car HOUSE covered waiting for the Inevitable Harmonic balancer replacement at (67,256miles) but that's it. 🚔🚨 🚖 But that's it as far as repairs my ECBM is still in EXCELLENT shape so I still have active handling anti-lock brakes & when I R&R the balancer I will swap to a much better CAM! To go along with my bassoni stainless steel exhaust & whatever else I can bolt on to get me close to 400 HP😎 I KNOW it's hardly worth mentioning but Every LITTLE bit helps I also have the pathetic 3.16 so called Performance Axel. THANKS for accepting my 2cents worth! I am proud to be a part of your website/WORLD Chris Dutro
Ehh, same thing.
I have a 2001 ZO6 yellow with red and black interior how rare is this car
Same one I have. 1 of 190'ish if not mistaken.
@@VetOnVettes I looked more in to it and its a total of 95 cars
got a rare combination for you : Canadian export 1999 FRC paint code 58U MAGNETIC RED domestic production numbers : coupe 1,569 Convertible 1,164 FRC 0.... with HUD, magnesium wheels, metric gauges, block heater. This may be the quadruple unicorn There is one and production numbers say none!
i have a speedway white 2001

I have an 03 Z06, 66Kmi. Electron blue metallic… 1877 +/- made in 03. Rare or not… don’t care. Car is so fun to drive…
I have seen a gold ragtop c5 in louisville, just add a tan top, not black
Also a gold ragtop 98 camaro with white top,... That I know where it sits
Is my 50th anniversary, fully loaded auto c5 rare? JK, That aztec looked like a killer color, at least in the pics. So in person that usually means it's better.
Lavilier mic
$5,754. For optional 6 speed
Myself I have 2 C-5s and a C-3 just sold my C,-6 I know of a super low mileage 98 pace car for sale
6 speed cost more than automatic...you were wrong that automatic cost more
Get the dji osmo action .... Way better than the gopro
I love my C5 but the Pace car is fugly.
I think the only difference is from 385 to 405 hp was they changed the cam, WHOOPY🤭 I got a yellow 2001 zo6 procharged n meth injected 840hp!.. 10.01 140mph et 😂😏😎
